Staff was always ready to help. Friendly and accommodating. We used the covered rear loading dock several times - very convenient.

They REPEATEDLY told him that "a driver will be there in 15 minutes! He waited from 3 PM to 10 PM. When I called the number for them online, the first thing that I asked was who contracts them the most frequently in Ann Arbor. The man said " What?" I said "What businesses or institutions contract you the most frequently in Ann Arbor?" He replied, "MA'am, do you need a tow truck? We're busy and it's cold out" then hung up on me. They literally forced someone to wait outside in the cold for 6 hours, always saying "15 more minutes and a driver will show up!" It's so unprofessional to have multiple names for the same business, NOT have a website, NOT accept credit card payments, lie ("15 more minutes" turns into 6 hours of waiting outside, refuse to answer questions AND rudely bring up the fact that it's cold outside (don't customer service reps sit inside)? This isn't even a business. Y'all need to stop leaving negative reviews and instead contact IRS about the company potentially not paying taxes and potentially committing tax fraud. They don't have customers, leaving a bad review won't help. But contacting an organization to investigate them might put them out out of business if they go to prison for "accidentally" not reporting the entirety of their paid ONLY in cash earnings.

I finally moved out today, after years of them raising my rates to absolutely astronomical prices,…read moreand I can't recall when I was that relieved to leave a place behind. My last review was in March of this past year and, nearly a year later, the gate is still wide open. I drive by regularly and every time I made a note of when it's open. 95% of the time. Again, what security are we all paying for???? I'm getting angry again just thinking about it. Now that my stuff is gone and I'm not worried about them retaliating, I plan on reviewing the paperwork on the contract and see if there's a clause re: security in there because if so, every resident of this location is overpaying by hundreds for something that wasn't being delivered. It makes me sick when I think about how much money I gave this hellhole. Oh and also, my credit card expired in December so I missed one month payment while I waited for the new one and they threatened to auction it off. It wasn't even a full month behind. Which seemed a bit premature given the time and time of year (holidays when people likely travel and may not be as easy to reach). The only positive I can say is at least with the gate broken I could easily come and go as I cleaned out the unit. But then again, had I been someone with nefarious intentions that could also have made it easy for them, too. If you're considering this location or they're offering you a sweet deal to sign up, RUN AWAY.

Don't even bother with Storage Chest at W. Liberty St. They are a complete joke of a storage…read morecompany. My family won an auction for one of their units, and when we arrived to collect my belongings, it was immediately clear that something was very wrong. The unit was completely different from what was advertised in the pictures. The high-quality items were all removed, and items that weren't in the photos were now suspiciously in the unit. There was a small and cheap lock on the door instead of the bigger and more expensive ones storage companies typically use. Additionally, the manager broke through the small lock with pliers instead of the red-colored and more powerful lock breaker that's in the original photographs. The manager tried to tell me that someone must have broken into the sealed unit without leaving any trace -- I find that ridiculous. Save yourself the time and money and go somewhere else for your storage needs!

I had two problems with this place. The first is that my property was only in my unit for a week…read moreand someone broke in and stole select items. What is important to note is that there was no sign of forced entry. My lock appeared untouched. Upon inspection I realized that the frame holding the door has screws on the outside. While I can't prove my theory, I personally believe part of the frame was removed to open the door. A police report has been filed. The second issue is that I was told, when signing up for the unit that "It is state law that you must have insurance on the unit" and was charged $10 for the month that I was renting it. I have since found out, through contacting the Department of Insurance and Financial Services of the Michigan government, that there appears to be no law requiring that a self-storage renter MUST buy insurance.
