If I could give one star, I would.
The only contracted local company to take care of warranty appliance repair, Cliff's was scheduled via the Whirlpool appliance repair website on November 14th for an appointment on November 20th. Halfway through the day on November 20th, after waiting for them to show up for their appointment, I contacted the company whose response was, "Oh! Nobody called you? We're busy today. Hopefully we will make it out Tuesday or Wednesday. We don't know! We didn't accept this appointment, it's a glitch that happens if you schedule on the weekends." Though I didn't schedule the appointment over the weekend, and rather, almost a week previously, I know nothing about the Whirlpool scheduling algorithms and whether or not a company has to manually accept an appointment before it is assigned to them. I called Whirlpool (and wasted hours trying to contact a live human to look into the issue), who told me that Cliff's had lied to me; my appointment was still in the system as being that day (Nov 20), and that yes, Cliff's MANUALLY accepted the appointment as indicated on the screen where my appointment was located (which they happily shared with me). They attempted contacting Cliff's themselves, and while they indicated they would be "open" at that time and available to take calls, they were not. Whirlpool attempted to call several times after that, as well as Whirlpool attempting to contact them several times on Tuesday, November 21 to no avail. Not only did this company waste my time waiting on an appointment that had been scheduled 6 days previous, didn't have the professionalism to call and reschedule the appointment, but they also lied about their reasoning behind missing the appointment and have been unreachable to get an appointment to service our broken appliance. I would never allow them in my home at this point because of their dishonestly, even if it is "free" under our warranty agreement. Whirlpool has also indicated that they will be filing a formal complaint against the company because of their practices. read more
