Part 2 of 8/2 review...by repeated request;-)…read more So....ever so slowly the screaming Hellish pain ebbed and I was able to hobble out the door (with assistance from kind S & SS employees). I could see in too far distance Charlotte Running Company where I met another saint and fellow Brad: https://www.charlotterunning.com/brad He refused payment when he called me an Uber to the hospital. His words were more than just sympathetic, but empathetic as he told me the tales - what would later be diagnosed in my case - broke his clavicle 3 times! Upon days later getting the super pain pills from CVS (too painful to leave the house + waking a few times from a drug-induced haze after the pharmacy had closed, + it being a Sunday once) I thankfully returned to CRC and S & SS with flowers, herbs, and vegetables from Nut Hill Farm - where I help a 70+ year-old brother-in-Christ Jim Mundorf. As I was telling the bigger and better Brad just yesterday, it was my most painful injury only to be outdone possibly by when I fell on a barbed wire fence while climbing a tree - at the wise age of 10- & grabbed the wrong branch (I knew it seconds before). Gratefully, the next-door neighbor (Ms. Rutledge, R.N. Ret.) heard my wails, cries, and screams and pulled my of the fence i was hanging from. Wanna see the scar:-!

I've been in the market for some new running shoes. Much of what I read online mentioned getting…read morefitted so I decided to stop by Charlotte Running Co. I was helped by a kind staff member, Jack. He scanned my feet, analyzed my run, and helped me to find a shoe which fit well and felt well. The process was far more in-depth than any running training I'd have done before. Charlotte Running Co. was incredibly helpful in finding the perfect pair of shoes. I definitely recommend stopping by to level up your running game. The whole team is knowledgeable and dedicated to the sport of running, so you can't go wrong.

I stopped by to pick up my race packet. Before exiting the store I stopped to look at women's…read morerunning shoes. Specially, I asked to try on Hoka's. The associate was sucking on a cup of juice or soda!! I got the impression that the sales associate was bothered by my questions. He can best be characterized as condescending and rude. . He insisted that I had no idea what I wanted!! I am confused, is that why customers try on shoes??? More importantly, If I had been informed at the time of my initial inquiry that there is a 25.00 fee to try on a shoe I would have not wasted his time!! . Incredibly, I was advised that trying on different styles is time consuming. Notably, I had a prior history of purchasing running shoes from This location!! I will not return. In the end, I went to Dick's and purchased my Hoka's. I was not charged 25.00 to try on different styles to ensure that I purchased the right shoe.

Great store, variety of clothes, brands and outdoor gear. There is something for everyone in the…read morefamily from the guys, women, youth, and dogs. All the workers are very attentive, eager to help out. My in-laws enjoy coming to the store every time they are on town from Eastern NC. Our family enjoys their Patagonia selection. And their free wrapping it's always a plus. Thank you Jesse Brown.

I used to love this store as a smaller, local-er alternative to big chains like REI. I've been…read moredropping by from time to time for several years now. I'm honestly surprised they've managed to survive for so long. However, they do seem to have a hand on a niche market - fly fishing. If I did any fly fishing, I'd be in here for sure to get geared up. Nearly half of the store is dedicated to fly fishing. It's a novel experience to come by and check out all the flies even if you don't actually do any fishing. Nowadays though I don't bother going to that part of the store. They have a good selection of shoes and hiking boots, several knives and utility tools, clothes, jackets, underwear, backpacks and bags. There are some knick-knacks throughout for camping, hiking and the outdoor lifestyle but the selection and variety is very limited. On a recent stop in here I was looking at bags and the shopkeeper asked if I needed help. I struck up a conversation about what bag I was specifically looking for and mentioned that they didn't have it. He just kinda said "oh" and that was about it. Didn't offer to look around for me in case I was missing something. Didn't offer to order it in for me online. It was an incredibly awkward experience. In fact, it sort of compares to many of my recent visits in here because staff has not always been particularly engaging. They seem to just stare at you intently as you walk around the store browsing. Like they think you'll swipe something. The prices are a bit high on things. But prices are always high on outdoor gear, really. They'd be the same at about any other outdoors store. The thing here is that, being a local shop, they can't really offer the sort of membership-based, nationwide deals that big chain stores can.
