It's Closed. It was always a fun place. Sad that it didn't make it. Hoping another local will pick it up.

A big beef patty with cheese, dressed with L,T,P&O. A side of crispy fries completed the basket. I noticed something different about the burger on the first bite. The tomato. The tomato had an unmistakable home-grown flavor. If you know, you know. I asked. Sure enough, grown in her husband's garden. An excellent burger. I ordered apricot iced tea, the vegan fried chicken sandwich, and pineapple upside-down cake. I don't normally like chicken sandwiches that much, but this was really good. And the highlight was getting to choose any of the salads on the menu as the side salad that comes with it. I had the hearts of palm salad with vegan cheese instead of the usual parmesan. It was delicious! I also got to try the cauliflower wings and a bite of the Korean BBQ tofu sandwich. I liked that sandwich too, but not as much. I do like the way they fried the tofu, but it seemed different than what was described on the menu. It seemed just deep fried, but not battered. My only complaint is the layout of the building and the lack of directional signage. I didn't park in the parking lot, so I didn't know to enter from the back and I ended up on a long confusing walk both outside and inside the building before I finally reached the dining room.

Typically cafes like these look like a dark dungeon, where your social life outside of games go to die. A giant screen sat in the center of the venue with the football game on and various places to sit. They have consoles, PCs, and boardgames to play. We visited during happy hour so drafts were $3 and I believe food was discounted as well, but we didn't get to try. We opted to play PC games, which as you know, PCs could be quite glitchy and I had to switch to another computer. One hot tip to know beforehand! If you are not well versed in today's PC games (which I haven't been for more than a decade), you have to register for accounts like Steam, Epic Games, and Riot Games to access their game library, but that eats away the time that you purchased to use the PCs, so I would register for those accounts at home so you don't waste time. On top of that, Steam gets especially buggy and so I got booted a few times playing Counter-Strike. Other than the gaming platform issues, this place is perfect for groups as well. We saw some families holding some sort of gathering there and the food looks pretty good too. Waypoint Lounge is a little far, but it's worth a trip checking it out. The people there are nice, so we will be back, but next time, we'll probably try the consoles.

The lack of 5 stars is tied to 3 main factors: 1 - shoving virtue signaling in every corner of the store with pride flags and trans woke reminders does more harm then good. It's virtue signaling and it's not needed to run your business. 2 - the $13 cocktail I ordered may have been 2-3 shots worth of liquid, basically it was so tiny and not worth the cost even remotely. 3 - the food is heavily focused on fried food, bread, French fries, i realize it's quick to cook but some healthier options would be nice. In general, I'm a fan of businesses thriving and standing out by shining through their product or service and not by shoving ideologies in peoples faces and virtue signaling.
