I had the absolute pleasure of spending part of my birthday weekend here. I planned in advance by calling and setting up my reservation. The process was super easy. They allowed me to add guests closer to the date. When my party arrived, it was a painless process. We all were able to complete our waiver online prior to arriving. Our host was "Your Axellency". She is fantastic! Our entire group of 9 was first timers. She walked us through it all seamlessly. Everyone is eager to put another game night together soon. I'm so happy I chose this establishment for my birthday and cannot wait to return!

They have a beer fridge for your BYOB!

What a thrill! Get the right group together and it'll be a blast. I was nervous about how the experience would be, but I ended up having such a good time, both with friends and the strangers on our lane. For purchasing tickets/reserving a time: I bought a Groupon (discounts, yay!!) for 6 people - One 90-Minute Axe Throwing Session for Six. It was simple to register on the Class Axe Throwing website as there as specific instructions for those with a Groupon code to redeem. Keep in mind that there are some fees associated when you register, but Groupon frequently has deals for a certain percentage off an activity, to offset those costs. Each lane can hold up to 12 people, so if you want to bring a group in you might want to have one person book it online (or call about their private event reservations). If the lane is booked, with only a few people from your party, you'll be mixed with other strangers - don't worry! It should be fun, so long as nobody gets extremely competitive or is a sore loser. Axe throwing: Pro tip - come ready with a pun-worthy lumberjack name for yourself. I scrambled last minute but eventually came up with "Professor Axe". Our lane had all 12 spots booked, so my party of 6 was mixed with another party of 6. Our instructor, or better known as our "Axe-pert" (Sir Axe-a-lot), split us off into two teams (also think of a team name), and carefully went through how the next hour or so would go. Not gonna lie, I was pretty nervous. Sharp objects and casual BYOB over in the back with strangers? Usually, I'd go running in the opposite direction, NOT paying to go! Our instructor was very VERY clear as to how we were to handle the axes and when we were allowed to throw or retrieve our axes from the target (or, more often, the ground). One person from each team, in order, goes up and throws to their respective target. There are two type of throws: using one or two hands. The instructor was very attentive after each one of us threw to give us advice to be successful in sticking the target. Things like when to release, or how to hold the axe - all of which were so helpful, that all of us were able to improve in the span of a few throws. After we had each thrown a few, we started the competition. We did 2 different team games vs each other and then a free-for-all where each person had 10 throws and the highest score won! I want to note, that by that point, most people had at least hit the board or gotten a bulls eye! If you didn't, the instructor pulled you aside to let you throw a few on an empty lane while he gave you tips. With 12 people there, I was very happy to see that he was so attentive and made sure everyone was having a good time, even if that meant sticking the board at least once. They were also very generous when people hit the line for the bulls eye - each person got a photo with their accomplishment! I think they post them on their facebook website shortly after. All in all, I'd highly recommend this activity for group events! You can bring your own beer (please be safe about it!!!) and they even have mini fridges to keep it cool for you as you play. I'm already thinking of the next time I can get a group to go!! So much fun! They still have Groupons available, so check there first for a discount!

Came here on 6/17/22. Overall 10/10! What a great experience! Our host/ trainer was absolutely amazing! Great sense of humor, absolutely loved teaching , and got super excited when the our kids made the axe stick! Took time to explain everything, this experience was excellent! We truly enjoyed ourselves, and the staff here! Would absolutely recommend!!!!

The location is very unassuming. You would, and probably will drive past this place the first time you go if you're not hawking for it, but it is worth seeking out. Fun for work outings, friends or probably even a fun date option that combines athleticism, competitive spirit, a chance for bloopers, and an element of danger. The instructor/guide that we had was excellent. The space is situated well inside, and the pricing is fair. Based on what I hear about expanding the space I'm eager to go back.

SO, I turned 50 this year, and for my birthday, we went Axe Throwing. (Yeah, I'm weird, so sue me.) Anyway, if you've ever wanted to do something unique, then COME ON DOWN TO CLASS AXE!! We had a two hour session that saw us split into teams and learning how to toss tomahawks with skill...mostly...okay, it took awhile, but we had lots of fun! Costs are about 30 bucks a person, you get two hours and unlimited axes, as well as fine teaching by the staff. It's a great place for team building, family outings and a way to cook off some steam. The parking lot is small, but not too bad, and their little place in the valley is a "blink and you'll miss it" location. Also, they have an Escape Room that you can try, which we didn't have time for, but it sounds like a blast. So, if you want to keep your skills "sharp", then here's the facts; spend some time at Class Axe!

We booked as a happy hour after work. Unfortunately there were only four in our group so we had to alternate with another group which felt disconnected. It was fun, but not the experience I was expecting. We will try it again with a larger group.

What a fun place to learn how to axe throw and get involved in an activity which is slowly becoming popular in Cleveland. The staff member who explained all the rules of axe throwing to us was very friendly and helped us along the way, helping us to better each throw. Who knew axe throwing can be so competitive?! The Class Axe Throwing facility also has an escape room connected, which is great place for those who want to have a variety of activities to do. It's tucked away in the depths of Valley View, but well worth the drive!

Look, if you had one toss, one axetunity. Wood you capture it out just let it slip away? Knees weak, axe heavy, wood chips on his sweater, mom's axeghetti. Tonight, in search of date night bonding and reasonably priced family fun, we took advantage of a valuable Groupon offer and attended axe throwing class at Class Axe. What a great time! The instructor was great fun, and the hour and a half session flew by! We were paired with other students, and received instruction and then played axe games such as cricket. There was much opportunity for wonderful axe puns, but you had to be pretty sharp to get them all. We will definitely be back again!

I went here with a group of 5 and it was such a great experience! When we got there they told us to come up with an axe throwing name and then put us with another group so we could play as teams. Our instructor was very outgoing and led us through three separate games all while assisting us in throwing and even making fun, axe-puns! While the teams throw, the instructor takes photos that will later be posted to their Facebook page so you can capture memories with friends and family and your first axe thrown bullseye! I am axe-cited to return again soon!

This was SO fun! I went with a friend and was thrown in with a larger group. They prefer groups of 6+ and each session is around an hour and a half. We were actually pushed back a half an hour to accommodate this. They called ahead and arranged the change. They spent the first half an hour or so training us on what to do and the different styles of throwing. Our trainer was super funny, patient and friendly. We got to choose fun team names and play different common games with the axes like blackjack. The experience costs a little over $30 a person. After our time there, we were given $5 off for our next experience and the coupon doesn't expire! And the best part, it's BYOB! I will definitely be going back.

I thought this place was called Cleveland Axe Throwing, but I think they changed their name to Class Axe Throwing? I found a Groupon for 4 people to try axe throwing for 90 minutes for $95.95, but then you have to go schedule your date/time on the website and pay an extra $20.72 for taxes and fees? I really hate that. Just give me one price don't say it's one thing then slip in extra charges. So anyway it came out to $29.17 a person. Day of we show up and find out that the 4 of us will be sharing a lane with 7 other people. I think they do up to 12 per lane. There are 3 lanes. Not a problem, we just split into two groups and everyone got along. So throwing axes is pretty fun, especially when you compete against others with fun games like first team to 40, or who can spell Timber first, or best throws out of 10. But before the fun starts you'll spend about an hour learning the rules and axe throwing techniques (two handed overhead, one handed) - hitting the bullseye on a large target is definitely not as easy as you first think. After the training bit is over you get about 30 minutes of actual play time. In our case we were the last group of the night so our time went over a little bit which I appreciated them allowing. A good thing though is that if everyone in the entire group has already done axe throwing they will shorten the training period next time you come in so that you have more play time. Also, I liked the music they were playing. A big negative for me though was the lack of A/C on a hot humid July night. They had a garage door open and a couple wall fans but that barely helped. If you're a person who heats up easily like me then I would not recommend coming here during the summer. Stick with cooler weather unless you like damp clothing and smelling sweaty bodies. Another issue I had was with picture taking. Actually, my issue is with the lady who gave me a hard time when I asked if they would not take my picture. I get it, you want to promote your business and share pictures of people throwing axes at your establishment on Facebook. I know lots of people don't care and will model for you all you want. Me though, I like pictures of myself to stay as personal/private as possible. Big group picture? No problem, I will be in the back, but I don't want singled out pictures of me for strangers all over the interwebs to look at. I get that I signed a waiver in order to do this axe throwing activity, but can't you respect my wishes and not photograph me? I did not care for this lady, but the guy instructing our group was great and had no problem not snapping shots of me. He was a lot more chill and understanding. So all in all, I think new experiences are great so I would suggest this to everyone, just hopefully my review prepares you better for what you're getting into. I would try it again in the winter. Also note that you need to sign the waiver electronically in advance and that alcohol is allowed but for private parties only and it's BYOB. I do wonder what they do with all of the wooden boards that get hacked up? Seemed like they replace them every day.

All the puns you can imagine play a role in this experience, so if you can't hang with corny jokes, you'll likely be axed. I couldn't have ever imagined I'd be axe throwing in the center of a weird Ohio snow storm, but I forgot it was even coming down outside while we escaped into our Lumberdome. We split into two teams and got to compete in a series of three games, all slightly different than the last. I really liked "TIMBER" which was the equivalent to HORSE for basketball. You're going down... I'm yelling timber... you better move (literally) you better dance. Our host was very animated and spirited while also knowledgeable, all key components of an axe throwing instructor. There are two different styles of throws you can take... the two handed over the head and the one handed from your palm. I stuck with the one handed for this experience because it was more natural but I would have loved to do the two handed a bit more... maybe during a practice session. What's even more mind boggling is that this facility is BYOB. Beer and wine accepted! No hard alcohol! We got to sip on our brewskis all while tossing some heavy wood. Now that's what I call a fun Saturday night! I'd definitely like to come back for some more axe throwing but also to try the Escape rooms. Big fan of solving mysteries.

Super fun. Four of us went and we were added to a group of others (so if you're concerned about not having a group or lot of people around... don't worry about it). Spent about 15-20 minutes learning to throw. Then we split into teams and had a friendly competition. You can bring booze, but it's best to bring beer and little bottles of wine as it's kinda crowded and you don't want to worry about a glass of wine. It's easy to do. The hour and a half goes fast and you'll meet cool folks. Definitely recommend.
