My biggest issue is that I confirmed twice over the phone that the exam, X-rays, and cleaning were covered under my insurance. So I was surprised when I got to the front desk and she's listing off things such a fluoride and some machine (which I was under the impression were the x-rays) that she was applying "in house discounts" to, which brought my total to $157. That may not be a-lot to some but it is to me. Not only was it not covered, but the fluoride and machine thing just seemed like the normal things you get done at a dentist? They weren't said to be extra or not included. I also didn't love how pushy the dentist was for Invisalign (which is not covered by insurance) first I was told they were running a special for $1500 off, and they would need a deposit of $1750, I told her I definitely don't have that so she said "maybe we could do $500" it felt very weird to be almost bartered with while in the dental chair. Then I again said I don't have that, to which she then asked if I had parental help? I'm in my early 20's so I feel that's a strange thing to ask anyone, besides maybe a teenager. Within 2 seconds of sitting in the chair the dental assistant determined it was a filling and not something more serious. I was immediately relieved I didn't chip a tooth or god knows what else. Despite being an adult, I'm afraid of needles in my mouth - (I've had bad experiences at other dentist and can remember how painful some of the injections were) but when Dr. Van administrated the numbing injection I didn't feel a thing and she talked me through it the entire 5 seconds. If it was publicly acceptable to shed a tear over something like that I would have on the spot. She had me out the door in less than an hour and the quality + care I received was great like it's always been at their office - (when I went to the dentist 2x a year like I'm supposed to) I also don't have insurance but the bill was still affordable and I'd be 3x as much for their care if I had to. The girls behind the counter had no idea how to help me and went to talk to the office manager. After waiting 30 minutes, the "office manager" finally came out and gave me the same runaround again; I'm researching that, etc. Still waiting 45 minutes later and No Answer as to what credit is due me. After putting me off for the third time, I directly asked the "office manager" how hard is it to print out his account and give it to me? She told me refunds are handled by their corporate office in another state. I asked for their number and after first refusing she finally, FINALLY gave me the corporate number and a printout of the refund due as I requested. No wonder she was balking at helping me; the refund due was almost $5,000! Thank God the person at their corporate office was willing and able to help me finally get this resolved. She apologized profusely for the lack of customer service I had received, promised to get my refund sent out as soon as possible, and gave me her direct number to reach her if I didnt receive it within two weeks. I had a procedure done in 2024 and my insurance denied the claim (after pre-authorization). I went through the work of attempting and appeal and to get the medical narrative and more from the dentist in hopes to clear the matter up. In the meantime I had a cancer dx and subsequent treatment. Now it's been months since I've thought about that. Life/death definitely took priority. And in the meantime the account went to collections (although Citrus Grove should have known I was clearly trying to dispute it... this was probably my first complaint. It would have been great to have been at least offered a payment plan). I called last week to discuss my account and to schedule a cleaning since I've missed mine this year. Was told unequivocally that I could make an appointment despite my current balance. I explained I would continue to dispute and if all else failed make a plan to pay. In fact I booked two appointments for this week (late December): one for a cleaning and one for a diagnostic plan so I could address my dental needs beginning early in 2026. I arranged my schedule to go today. In fact, rushed from another medical appontment to be there ahead of time. Checked in with the receptionist. Waited about 10 min. The receptionist called me up to the desk again and asked about my past bill. I explained the phone conversation and how I was assured it was okay to book under those circumstances. Sat back down. 5 min later I was called back up and told I could not be seen after all because of the outstanding balance. Say what!? I SPECIFICALLY asked about booking under these circumstances. Was told that beginning this week there is a new Office Manager and she is making NO exceptions. Well, this is a terrible business decision. One, it greatly inconvenienced me. As a person over 65 recovering from cancer (or anyone for that matter) running around unnecessarily is burdensome. Two, even if it was the policy going forward (which is their right), they needed to have kept their word that they had just given me days before. And three, what kind of invisible to the client office manager would put the staff who is talking to clients face-to-face in a position to have to explain this foolishness and feel the brunt of an upset/angry clent? I will not be going back. There are far too many dentists in Clermont for me to be bothered by the not well thought out business policies of this new (non) business manager. All I wanted for now was a plan and a cleaning. My insurance is generally really good. Citrus Grove Dental Care won't get another cent of it.

I also asked for a little more expensive build up on a molar crown and she said no not needed, well i could see there was hardly any tooth for the crown to hold onto and guess what it has come off twice in less than a year, it's a molar needs stability to chew or why bother.
