I get a text message today, 4 days before his appointment asking me to confirm his 9am appointment. I see this and know it's a mistake so I call to clear it up and was informed that the business hours have changed, ironically enough b/c school is in session. So clearly at some point an executive decision was made to change the hours. Why wouldn't the next step be to call each patient who had an appointment between 7am and 9am to reschedule them right away? Had someone called months ago this wouldn't be a big deal but the lack of customer service and consideration and all out common sense is appalling! The person who answered the phone told me how she's "only one person, and is working on calling everyone." Well for starters she didn't even call me, I got a text with an appointment time that I didn't schedule and wasn't consulted on, secondly had she started calling months ago she'd be done, clearly someone should learn how to manage their time and the business better. Much better than some other places in town rushing you from room to room while the staff yell at each other in Spanish, scaring the children and assuming you don't know what they're saying.

In the midst of quarantine, virtually every kids' dental office near us was closed. We called all around and on a lark, found Clermont Children's Dentistry online. Dr. Tarver immediately opened up his office to help our child with his dental emergency. He gave us his personal cell phone. He and his wife were extremely professional and caring. They made our child comfortable. He reviewed the xrays and treatment plans with me in detail. I am familiar with dental xrays due to my profession. My husband's cousin is a dentist in another state and also confirmed the appropriateness of the plan in real time. I am also very well versed in conscious/procedural sedation protocols based on my profession and have performed hundreds myself. We had an in-depth discussion about the agents. Dr. Tarver had the appropriate resuscitation equipment, ACLS meds, reversal agent for versed and had my child on continuous pulseox with etco2 all readily available. His wife, a second dentist, was monitoring the conscious sedation while he was working in my son's mouth. I know exactly what should be available to sedate a child safely. And it was all followed to the letter at Clermont. I was permitted back with my child throughout the entire procedure but I realize that this may not occur with all parents due to potential disruptions. Parents should speak with Dr. Tarver regarding their specific case. He took his time with us and did not try to take advantage of us, which he very well could have done, given the current public health crisis. My husband and I are aware of various negative reviews and accounts online. We cannot speak to others' experiences but we felt it was important to share our very positive experience.

However, the dentist told me she only had one cavity and suggested taking the tooth out instead of fixing it, which didn't make sense to me. As a parent, I felt uncomfortable with that plan and decided to get a second opinion the same day. The new dentist took fresh X-rays and confirmed that my daughter actually had three cavities -- the same number found by her previous dentist -- and even discovered one big one that needed to be treated right away. This second dentist fixed all three cavities immediately and was very caring and professional. I do not recommend this office based on our experience. The diagnosis and treatment plan here were utterly different from those of the other two dentists, and I'm glad I trusted my instincts and went elsewhere. I wish I could publish the X-ray of my daughter, but I will not.

My seven-year-old daughter is autistic and experiences severe anxiety around dental and medical appointments, largely due to previous experiences at other providers. Denny, the office manager, is a fantastic asset to the team. She made the intake process smooth and was exceptionally welcoming when we arrived. Knowing she has years of experience with special needs children was a relief. She was kind, patient, and took the time to explain everything to both me and my daughter, helping her feel comfortable and informed. Dr. Shruti Pandhi was also wonderful--she showed great patience and helped my daughter feel safe in an environment that would usually be intimidating for her.
