Some important things to note: there's no private pool or private restaurant at VYC, like most local area clubs. VYC is all about the quiet atmosphere, and its better that way. The indoor/outdoor seating areas of the clubhouse are great places to read, have a glass of wine and just enjoy the boats on the channel. VYC remains untouched by rowdy guests and excessive noise, which is a gem in itself. VYC embraces the vintage Commodore classiness of old-school Yacht Clubs. For guest docking, you can spend time at the VYC if your vessel is under 80 feet drawing 10 feet or less. Guests can have dock spots on the river wall or in temporarily vacant slips. Ron was more interested in telling people how he was getting paid to teach people how to sail than actually teaching people how to sail. We really learned very little during the course about actual sailing. We did learn that Captain Ron likes going to expensive places for lunch and having his students pay the tab. We did not receive our Basic Cruising stickers for our logbook as they were out, and they never sent our info to US Sailing. I just found this out the other day. I emailed and called about a dozen times in the past year and still have nothing. Captain Ron also showed us how to destroy the navigation lights on his boat while pulling into a slip. Not sure I wanted to learn that. Overall it was a terrible experience.

Dubberts i've put my boat back up on the trailer and pulled it down to Dubberts they told me that they were booked up for two weeks and they couldn't take a look at my outboard until the owner came and told me that they'll have a technician look at my outboard in a few minutes 10 minutes later gentleman walked up and proceeded to take the calling off of my boat. I told him what the issue was and he said he had an idea what it was he hooked his computer to my outboard and told me that I had two bad batteries. These people were so nice. I bought my two batteries changed all the wiring out and with one hour. I was back on the water. I want to make a shout out to this company. I would go back there in a heartbeat thanks guys for getting me back on the water and on the walleye

Contacted superior Marine to see if they had diesel and their hours. They were open until 3 pm…read more We arrived at 2:45, docked and went in to request diesel. The gentleman brought the fuel truck along side the dock and we got our few hundred gallons of diesel. Since they took a check, it saved us the credit card fee of 4%. They were fairly priced and efficient. Definitely would come back if in the area.
