It seemed fine at first, but then it started stalling and back-and-forth, and then was put through the runaround. I will never visit or purchase a car from Clement Supercenter. My experience with them was absolutely terrible. Beginning Thursday, September 4th, I requested a test drive reservation for an electric vehicle for the next day, Friday, September 5th and 2:30PM. I was told via text that the car was in service and they would work to have it ready, and text me a few hours before hand to ensure it was ready for me when I showed up. At 9:49 AM Friday I received a text that the vehicle was ready. I got pre-approved for financing that day, ready to purchase, and drove 1 hour, and arrived at 1:47PM. After talking to Eric, the salesman, he mentioned that the car was over at the service building and we'd need to go over there and get it, but I could test drive it back, and if I liked it we could talk numbers. Eric drove me over in a "New" Sonata that had a bad wheel balance and nearly shook my teeth out of my mouth. After a 20 minute drive over to the service building, I waited for 20 minutes only to be told that the car wasn't ready. So we drove back to the dealership 20 minutes, shaking the whole way back. Upon returning to the dealership I spoke to the sales manager about my experience. He said that by mentioning the car was ready just meant it was ready for sale, and by no means indicated it was ready for a test drive, contrary to what my reserved time was for. He then continued to tell me that I could go back and test drive it, as it was ready now (about 30 minutes after we left the service building) I mentioned to him that I did not have time now to drive back 20 minutes, and test drive, as I needed to be home by 5PM and had an hour drive home. They had already wasted my time after saying it was ready, when it was not. I asked him if I could take it for an extended test drive and return the next day, upon which I was told that it only had 20 miles of range available. This amount of range wouldn't be enough to get it out of the parking lot, obviously not enough for me to drive the 20 minutes back (which was now likely 30-40 minutes with reush hour traffic) The sales manager had a terrible attitude, and so I told him to give me my keys and that I was leaving. I later recieved another call from another sales manger begging for my business, stating that would have a saleman drive the car to me on Monday so that I could test drive at my house. I made mention that the sales manager I spoke to at the dealership didn't introduce himself, so I couldn't give his name, but he was very arrogant and belittling to me. The sales manager said "I know which sales manager it was, he can be that way". This isn't a good quality to have of your sales managers, and speaks badly on the dealership. He said he would call me back Monday, Sepember 8th to ensure that I was willing and able to test drive, yet as of Wednesday, September 10th I have not received another call. I went to Lou Fusz immediately after, drove the same style car, and by Saturday at 5PM, after only 1 hour spent inside the dealership in total was driving home in a brand new car. read more

Worst buying experience ever from beginning to end. The salesman was not good, and the managers were worse. I had 3-4 different people contacting me after I had agreed to the purchase. The salesman did not listen, screwed up the cash purchase and made my son wait and hour and half for nothing when he picked up the car. The video he sent me of the car did not show all of the blemishes. The wheels are nicked up, a tire had a nail in it, a piece of the interior was missing as well as the driver's mat. It took them three weeks to refund the over payment the the salesman screwed up. read more

Bought a vehicle from them. They were supposed to transfer the plates, but never did. They kept the plates and after a week of run around and phone calls, they finally ordered replacement plates. They arrived and are for the old vehicle. They now state they are not responsible for transferring the plates even though it was their original mess up. The response I got was the person is no longer with us so it's not our problem. read more

We came here Wednesday night to purchase a truck. I told them upfront, more than once, that my son would be financing through his credit union. The dealership is on the credit union's preferred list, which is how we found them. We called the credit union and they assured us that the process would be simple and told us to tell the salesman to only run it through them. Before the salesman went to the financing guy I reminded him to only submit it through the credit union. He asked if we wanted to try their in-house financing if the credit union didn't approve it, and we said, no. Two minutes later, he came back saying my son wasn't approved. That immediately felt off. I asked why, and requested proof. He said he didn't know why he wasn't approved, and was unsure that he could provide him anything in writing and left to "find out." Twenty minutes later, he returned and asked my son if he was a member of the credit union-because if he was, they'd "try again." At that point, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. We sat there for an hour while they claimed they were waiting on a response from the credit union. I told the salesman the whole thing felt shady and that I was uncomfortable. He said he was "just telling us what they're telling him". I told him that if they wanted to sell the truck through the credit union the next day, we'd come back. Otherwise, we weren't using their financing. We left. We barely made it off the lot before someone called my son pushing their financing and telling him that we had wasted the salesman's time. He had the nerve to ask me what my sign was "because I had a protective nature" with my son. I suppose that's because I SMELLED A RAT and wouldn't allow them to take advantage of him. I finally hung up on him. We never spoke to this person at the dealership, but we saw and heard him while we were waiting. I honestly thought he was the greeter, but sadly, he's likely the manager. He was obnoxious. When we got home and my son checked his credit, we saw that they had run a hard inquiry for their dealership first, and only afterward, ran it through his credit union which was exactly what we told them not to do. We never received any proof of a denied application, either. I assumed they only ran it through his credit union after we left. The next morning we called the Credit Union and to no surprise, my son had NOT been denied a loan. I had a really good experience here! Pat was our salesman and Ryan did our financing. They were very accommodating to our tricky situation and made an effort to connect with us and make the experience more personable! I think a lot of negative reviews are not taking into consideration the construction they are currently under, which in turn means their inventory is not 100% accurate on third party listings, but they still did what they could to make it work! The car I wanted to test drive was just down the road at another location which was no big deal to me given the circumstances. From what I understand, all locations share an inventory so obviously cars are going to be moved around based on customer interest and need. I've only had my car for a day now so we'll see how it holds up but I'm confident that if there are any issues, they will help me out! read more

DO NOT purchase a car here & for the love of god PLEASE DO YOUR HOMEWORK ON CLEMENT AUTO!! I understand people are human and these are USED cars, heck even brand new cars have issues. I've given a lot of grace and patience with this transaction before leaving this review, so please don't assume I'm one of these Karens. Please stay for this because if I can do anything, least I can do is save anyone from ever having to deal with this. Purchased my Lincoln Navigator SUV 7/2/25 at the St. Charles Location. When going over the deal the paperwork only showed the payment options with our $5,000 down payment, never a price. Did the rough math in my head and thought it added up, the salesman was really nice, easy to talk to, and I'll admit we are part of the problem because we were rushing. I'm kicking myself because we trusted them. Upon closing on the deal, the finance manager said since we didn't haggle any sales price we are going to "throw" in an extended warranty. Giddy with excitement because the over all purchase experience was really smooth! (If we only knew) Drove the SUV for a couple days, messaged the salesman 7/6/25 explaining the suv wasn't shifting correctly. The salesman said he would take care of it and get someone on this ASAP. Never heard from anyone but he always reached out to see if I had. Still never hearing from anyone I had to call the service department myself. They were rude and treated me like in an inconvenience. Said that I would have to pay for whatever work unless it's approved (mind you I have only owned this car for two weeks, and messaged them promptly after purchasing with the issues) I get it auto service techs aren't in customer sales/people, whatever. Says they will have to get back to me with a time for them to look at it. Ok it gets better, I eventually get my sales paperwork sent to me in the mail. Look over my paperwork they overcharged me $1,200 than the listing price, even better slapped a $3,500 charge on for the warranty!! Adds on a grand total of $4700! I immediately contacted our salesman, he sends me to the general manager. Completely apologetic, I begin to think ok this is going to get taken care. He tells me, that finance manger has since been let go, and that apparently he was doing this to a lot of people. I was understanding, he said he would work on the refund, and look into even getting me better warranty options for the stress. Then that, he will personally follow up with the service department and get me in there ASAP. We get the navigator in for service 7/28/2025. The service department calls me the next day says they can't figure out what's wrong with it. Says they are going to drive it a little more and see. Calls me 8/1/25 to say they've figured out the issue, that it's an active recall on the Navigators. He says since it's not throwing any codes, the warranty companies won't cover it and I'll need to pay a $3500 repair bill. I was floored, especially after just finding out I lost $4700, I said absolutely not. Then says "oh well come get it then, you can just drive it around until the code comes on". Not exactly sure how this works but why wasn't the recall addressed before putting it on the lot, especially now that I know the car was repo that was processed and put on their lot all in the same month. So then I reach back out to the gm, explain the situation, he apologizes more, says don't worry it will all be covered, and taken care of. Fast forward to today, I STILL don't have my car! It's been two months, I can't get ahold of that GM anymore, no refund, no car, and out thousands of $. The advertised 30 day guarantee, 5 Day money back, and included warranties are all a fraudulent joke. About once a week I get an update from the service department saying they are STILL WORKING ON IT, that it will be another week. My transaction with Clement is a complete disaster that has caused so much unwarranted stress, loss of thousands of dollars, a car that I drove for two weeks and as of SEPTEMBER 2nd don't even have. Oh even better I've already paid two payments on it, insurance, and when and if, I get it back the plates will be expired. Don't really know where to go from here with this, but leaving this here to hopefully prevent anyone from this heartache. read more

Over the past several months, I visited no less than 10 dealerships in my search for a used vehicle. My visit to Clement Supercenter was my only bad experience. To summarize it: the salesman was very high pressure, they were evasive about answering if a car on their website was actually on their lot and I was told their policy is that you must give your phone number and drivers license to get inside a vehicle (even if it's not for a test drive). I had already decided that I wanted to buy a Camry and I wanted to visit Clement because they listed an XSE for sale online, which was a trim level I had not seen in-person yet. As I had arrived and started searching the lot for the vehicle, a salesman came out and invited me inside so he could look up where the vehicle was at on the lot. Immediately after leading me to his desk, the salesman asked for my phone number, which I declined to do but was an early red flag. He then needed to "check with the manager to see where the car was at", which gave me the suspicion the car wasn't even there. The salesman finally returned after several minutes and started trying to give me a sales pitch on the Camry (which was a waste of time because I had already told him I wanted to buy a Camry) instead of answering whether they had the car there. Because it was raining and it was late in the day, I said I didn't need to test drive the car but that I wanted to see it and get in it so that I could get a feel for what an XSE trim looked like. The salesman told me that under Clement's policies, they would need my phone number and drivers license for me to get inside the vehicle (even though I made it clear I didn't even want to drive it). That was pretty surprising, considering other dealerships I've visited before and after encouraged me to drive cars around their lot without requiring any information or license. It was at that point that I finally decided to cut my losses and leave. Over a month later, the same vehicle is still listed on their website and its price has risen by $2,000 since then. read more

I made the mistake of purchasing a vehicle through Clement Ford. Before signing, I had them check the battery, as I always do when finalizing a deal. I was assured it was good, and promised that for 90 days they would cover such a little thing if it were to somehow go bad. Well, guess what? A month and a half later, I was stranded with a dead battery. I had it checked...it was a battery that did not give the recommended voltage, and it was bad! My sales person remembered me, and said it was no problem. So they put the battery in... And charged me over $300 dollars to do so! First off, I'll tell you the only reason they are getting two stars is because I did leave with the vehicle I wanted. My credit is not stellar, but not terrible either. The biggest deterrent for me was the fact that I owed a good deal more than my trade in was worth. That said, they promised they could make it happen, so I went to the dealership. When all was said and done, within about 3 hours I was going home with the vehicle I wanted and at an acceptable APR (my credit is not bad, but not stellar). Then it went downhill. The following day, the salesman I worked with called to tell me that there was more paperwork I needed to sign. Not a big deal and nothing to worry about, he said. That was not true. I showed up at the dealership and was told by the finance manager that my lender ended up denying me because my new-to-me vehicle had a Canadian VIN and they were unable to proceed with the loan. OH, but they did find me a lender. Downside? A much higher APR. I should have walked out then, but that's on me. Knowing I needed a vehicle and these were the only folks that would even look at my trade, I got sucked in. Even with a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach, I signed my life away and kept the vehicle I purchased. Fast forward to the other day when I just happened to see the sticker on the inside of my car door that said "assembled in the USA". So I called the original lender and discovered that this was NOT the reason I was denied the loan. It was my debt to income ratio. They actually laughed at the whole Canadian story. I was advised that my application was still in pending status and had not been approved when all the signed paperwork came to their office and that I was not the first to have this happen to. I'm mad. Mostly because I was the idiot who signed the papers when I should have walked after my second visit to the finance desk. But also because I was blatantly lied to about the reason I needed to come back in that second time. They knew that if they'd been up front with me over the phone that the outcome would have been different. I will never recommend them to anyone I know looking for a vehicle and I certainly will never do business with them again. read more

This is a zero stars, but Yelp has a one start minimum. Found a Toyota Rav 4 hybrid on True Car. so I let true car know I was interested. I am lucky that I only lost an hour of my life here. they called while I was on the phone with another Clement salesman and they left me a message, that completely contradicted what the salseman I talked to said. The car was either available or it wasn't. It was either in Florissant or St. Charles. After lots of back and forth, I was assured that the vehicle was in St. Charles and it would be available for me to test drive there.I turns out that of the many people who eventually talked or tested me was at least partly right. the vehicle was not in St. Charles, because we wnet there to test dive and were told that it was ten minutes away getting inspected. The manager I spoke spoke with prior, said it was just being detailed, cleaned out and there was no reason wer couldn't test drive it. Same manager also said that the vehicle was there, after we had already left and headed home. Same manager then left me a text saying they were trying to arrange to have someone bring it to me to test drive it. In the meantime, I had already started my BBB review, and had found out that they have an F rating for 22 complaints, 3 unresolved complaints and time it took to respond to the complaints that they did respond to. I let them know that I was no longer interested, and in the sapn of an hour, I have 3 texts from them trying to sell me other cars. I would recommend that you ignore the 4 and 5 star reviews (likely fake) and concentrate on the what the 1 start review folks are saying. read more

I would not recommend this company to anyone. We purchased a vehicle on the way home discovered that there was a problem with the sound system. After countless phone calls and even going to three of there dealerships they would not fix it. They told us that they promised the extended warranty we bought would cover it no problem! It didn't. Just called warranty company about another claim and they informed us that it doesn't cover that either! Needless to say I don't think the Clement Auto group is not a very truthful and don't stand behind the message that relay on all of their radio commercials. Our records show later that year, in December 2023, we paid to have a new speaker installed for you at our Bridgeton service center. It does not show any other service history at any of our 6 service facilities. He said that Scott Davis would be back in touch with us. We never heard another word from anyone. They "fixed" it and soon after the same issues started happening my husband had tried calling up to the dealership and they no longer his calls at all. BUYER BEWARE. MY review (that I was asked to give while still in their office which should have been my first red flag) was initially 5 stars. I wonder how many of these 5 star reviews would still be 5 stars a few months later. We purchased a car from Clement 8 months ago. Suddenly, the car started just dieing out of no where. We took it to 3 mechanics, and no one could figure out what was wrong with it. We were finally advised to take it to the dealership. After we took the car back to Clement, it suddenly became very hard to reach them. They initially called me from a random number that did not show up on caller ID and didn't leave any voicemail. Once I figured out it was them and tried to return the calls, I was constantly put on hold and given the run around. My husband eventually gave up on phone calls and went up there. When we did finally speak with someone, we were told it would be $170 just to run a diagnostic. I agreed because what else could I do. Today we were told it would be $1300 to fix it. Which we just do not have. If you want to pay $6000+ for a car that will amount to scrap in 8 months, this is the right place to go. If you need reliable transportation for longer then a couple months though you may want to look elsewhere. I don't really blame them per say. I'm not a mechanic and maybe they had no way of knowing this would happen, but I wouldn't risk giving them my money again. read more

BUYER BEWARE!!! We got one of the teslas on the lot! (2021 Model 3 all white) Thinking because it's from a dealership it should be cheaper as it is a used car. It was not at all and we were fine with that! So we kept on in the process. We decided to go the finance route so put a 4000 down payment. We were in a hurry with the process because of unfortunate circumstances but we're looking forward to this for a little now. We had Aaron. Now I'm sure they don't care about there customers as much as they try to claim, because he hadn't explained the interest part correct at all. We were told multiple times that the more we put down, the faster we'd pay it off along with the payments already. We pay a little above 500 every month. But some how only makes the price we're paying off go down every month by 200. When that's not how they explained what would happen and apologizes we are not to educated on cars or any of that only looked at this certain type of car, now teslas are very safe cars, we have a kid so good family car. There smooth and good for us since we're close to work and everything so wouldn't hurt the mileage to much. But it's sad that they did not explain fully how they should have and educated us on the payments plan instead left A LOT out even on straight forward questions that were asked. And we also have a long lease with other goals in life. It's our faults also for coming to this dealership in the first place. But They only want your money ‼ If parents are going to let their children buy cars here also i Strongly advise you to get EVERY part of information about your payment plans and still wait to make a decision or if there are ANY mixed feelings about it choose another one there a plenty around the area that CARE for there customers and would gladly help!! BUYER BE WARE! !!We bought a used car for our soon to be 16 year old, so she can practice and take her test in this car, and then it will be her full time car. We have had the car for a little over a month and used about 1 tank of gas ( driven less than 500 miles). We recently noticed it has an oil leak. We took it in and within a day we were called and it was fixed. Soon after, we noticed it was leaking again. We took it in and the repair guy told us, oh this guy is no longer here, oh this guy is no longer here. He was blaming the lack of repair on people they had to let go. He told us, they will give it a thorough look over. He called and said it was a leak where the axel meets the transmission. They fixed it (they tried to go through the extended warranty we purchased but they told us they wouldn't cover it but didn't tell us why the warranty company wouldn't cover it)They went ahead and fixed it for free. We got it back and it is still leaking. We have tried to contact the Sales team and are told its now a Service issue, even though I am pretty certain they sold us the vehicle with the leak. The Service Manager is not returning our calls so will try to drop it off again, as this issue needs to be taken care of. We went with them due to the Clement warranty and extended warranty we could get but now the car has been in the shop almost as much has we have had and no resolve and no accountability just the run around, not to mention the time, and gas spent to take it back forth from shop.We spent a decent amount of money to ensure we had a reliable vehicle for our young driver. We feel we were sold something that is proving to be anything but and no one from sales or service is even returning our calls. read more
