Goodness me... It seems that the arrogant audio and videophile mindset has overtaken AV Performance Innovations, due to the fierce representation of "the brand image" by an employee whose name I shall not unveil. After placing an inquiry via their website, I received a phone call this afternoon from that employee, whom immediately revealed a surplus of "toot my own horn" articulation--covering up the "we only deal with folks who want to spend $10,000 and up" sales pitch. Attempting to brush his attitude aside, I explained what we were looking for in our new home. Nothing major -- just want to get our feet wet with a home theater setup before we go all-in 3-5 years from now. My elaborations touched upon the different speakers I've perused, as well as the projector that sufficed for now. To my astonishment, he not only abruptly slammed my research (and advice I received from half a dozen others on AVS Forums, WireCutter, etc.) but also randomly defaced Best Buy--touting that "AV Performance Innovations only deals in high-end equipment and clientele that can afford the best. BenQ, SVS, and blue shirts at Best Buy only deal in data processors and market waste." Wow! A strong opinion that he's entitled to (I suppose), however, if I was the owner of AV Performance Innovations, I would quickly pull him into the office and have a "come to Jesus meeting" on how to speak with potential customers and people in your community. I hate to say it, but he sounded an awful lot like our fearless Twitter "tweeting President", Donald J. Trump. Unfortunately, for him and AV Performance Innovations--by association--I will be spreading the word on the awful customer service and arrogant company attitude.

Then I asked for an addition outdoor camera. I was told they no longer provide wired cameras and I had to upgrade to the Google nest wireless outdoor cameras if I wanted an additional camera. They told me they were better and they ONLY needed to be charged every 9 months to 1 year. I signed a financial agreement for the equipment ONLY. I did NOT sign another service agreement or so I thought. I quickly realized these cameras have to be charged every 2 1/2 - 3 months NOT 9 months to a year. I told ADT I wanted my wired cameras back and they could take back these ones. They refused. Then we started having issues with the wall panel malfunctioning. We requested they fix it but they stated it would cost an additional hundreds of dollars to fix their equipment thats under warranty. I requested to cancel service numerous times and they said I had to pay off the equipment first. Then this past February the alarm system kept going off to the point the police were about to come out. We kept calling ADT technical support and was on the phone forever multiple times. The last time the technician finally told us to remove the internal batteries from the wall panel to shut the system down. So we did. We asked them to come out AGAIN to fix the equipment. They once again told us it would cost hundreds of dollars to come out. We have been without service and forced to pay a monthly bill since February. I called them this month and demanded they send someone's out. I paid off the equipment early. They said they would waive the service fee. The technician got their and said, the service fee is waived but my labor isn't and all parts are going to be charged as well. He said it will probably cost around $400 to $500. I told him to leave. I called and demanded my service be canceled and for them never to contact me again. Then they send me a $1400.00 bill. Now let me tell you, I've NEVER been late ONCE on my bill and ALWAYS paid more than the bill amount. I paid off my equipment early as well. They breached the contract by NOT providing operational equipment and NOT providing service. They scammed me into buying a product by misrepresent it. I've reported them to the BBB. They dont even own or operate their own cameras. You can buy a Google camera on Amazon amd get the app for FREE. BUYER BEWARE!!!!

They said in the email that they would resolve the issue within three business days, but it's already been a full week and I still haven't been able to get in touch with them. Also, I've had at least three separate incidents where a visitor came to my home, and their monitoring system failed to record any footage at all. (The latest one: on May 23, 2025, Friday, at around 5:00 to 5:30pm CDT, my agent visited my house and was standing directly under the security camera, yet whatsoever. This raises serious concerns about the reliability of the equipment). Fortunately, I have independent video evidence from my phone confirming their presence. Given that the system did not captured any of these events, despite being active and armed, I believe this constitutes a serious failure in service and may reflect negligence.
