June 2025 Clear View Lanes - Great Bowling, Even Better Fries It's been a few years since my wife and I visited Clear View Lanes, but we usually make the trip in June to bowl with friends from our local alley during the Dutchman Bowling Tournament. Due to some medical issues, I haven't been able to bowl the past couple of years, so it was really nice to be back and able to bowl again this year. Clear View is a very nice bowling alley -- they have a small pro shop, a snack bar, and a full restaurant. New this year, they even added an indoor golf hitting range! I didn't bring my clubs, but it looked like something I'd love to try next time. Bowling here feels a little different than at my home alley -- I don't seem to bowl quite as well -- but I still have a great time and enjoy the atmosphere. Quick tip if you're hungry: head down to the restaurant and get the cheese and bacon French fries -- they were excellent! Definitely worth trying. Looking forward to coming back next year. read more

Back again for another tournament. This alley has improved a lot since my last review. It is much cleaner and the staff more welcoming. The lanes are probably shinier than any alley I've seen. Shinny does not mean dressed with plenty of oil either. The space is the same. But we do not have a full tournament. The desk runs brackets, and the line moves pretty fast for the crowd. The snack bar is not big. But what they do. They do well. Surprisingly, it's not that expensive Overall. They have come a long way since my last visit. read more

As far as bowling alleys go, this one was OK. We had three lanes and a rather large, rambunctious crowd for a 10th birthday party, and everyone had a good time. The place was clean and well-staffed, the lanes were in good shape, and we had ZERO technical issues -- which is rare in my experiences at aged bowling alleys. The decor is dated, but I'm good with colorful, 80s-style throwbacks. The ceiling had definitely seen better days, though. The display monitors had a birthday theme, which was nice for our party, and the staff had set up a colorful table with all our snacks and food. Pizza and fountain drinks were included, but our host brought her own chips, cake, and goodie bags for the kids. We had plenty of seating, and didn't feel crowded, even with a ton of winter coats, shoes, etc. taking up space. Thankfully, we didn't encounter any equipment shortages, as Maria D. referenced -- we had plenty of small 6 and 8 pound balls for the birthday goers -- but we did have the same issue with the stand younger bowlers use to assist them. We had the chrome one (didn't see the dinosaur in use!), which our littest bowler had some difficulty positioning, as it kept sliding around at the slightest touch, even with a grownup to hold it and help her. We also thought the bumpers were inconvenient -- they're either always on or not at all. The kids opted to brave the gutter and were good sports when most of the balls ended up there. For non-bowlers, there are a handful of pool tables and just a couple of arcade games (skee ball, a rifle/shooter game, and a few others designed to just suck the quarters right out of your pockets). read more

My kids have been bowling at this place for years. The staff is nice and friendly. The owner runs all the leagues and is very nice and friendly too. It has a restaurant attached to it is you might need an adult beverage. Lanes are clean and the rest rooms are too. read more

Been here twice now, both "ok" experiences. I was pretty excited about the "glow bowling" and we reserved our lane and brought our two granddaughters for what I thought would be more of an experience. Because it was a special event we had to check in with the lady at the table but go to the counter to pay and get our shoes. While we were early and one of the first few people in line, the line grew very quickly and the process of going two places didn't make sense. We were given lane 1 and since we paid $35 for the lane my husband and myself decided to bowl as well. However we quickly found out that lanes 1-9 can not be changed from bumpers to non for different players. You either have bumpers for all or you don't. Bummer. We also requested one of the stands to assist our little ones. It was made of chrome and unlike the one we used weeks earlier didn't have a grip on the feet and slid around. A few lanes down someone had a cool dinosaur stand and our girls immediately wanted that one. When I inquired I was told they only had one. Anyone who deals with small children can tell you the problems that will cause. In fact because they only had four stands overall we had to share our stand with another family a few lanes down and it was a constant back and forth. They were also short on the 6 lbs balls and were asking everyone to share. Why host an event geared towards families than not have enough supplies to go around?!? The glow bowl was to run from 2-4pm and we planned our day around that time frame. However because of the chaos with the line at the counter it started 30 minutes late. We were still allowed to play for the two hours which was appreciated. After a few rolls down the lane our girls were bored and we were too. We wanted to get the girls some ice cream but they didn't have a snack bar, I suppose because their restaurant is next door. I felt a little misled and thought glow bowl would be cooler. All they basically did is turn the lights off and had some colored lights. I thought things would actually glow and that's what we told our girls. They played some 80's music but since this was a kids event something more familiar to them would have been better. A few times during the event they had a "train" that went across the screens and if it stopped on yours you got a prize. They also handed out a small bag of Valentine's Day candy. Other than that it was just bowling. I just kept thinking there ought to be more to this for the $35 a lane price tag. So now we've been here twice. First time was fun, second time was more like a task. If we take the girls bowling again we'll seek out somewhere that has the cool dinosaur stands for everyone and offers a bit more. read more

Great bowling, cheap prices, snacks and drink are good and reasonably priced every time I go in it is a great experience BUT I walked on a Tuesday night and a woman who was working the register wouldn't even look at me when i talked and before I could even finish my sentences she rudely and very arrogantly stated that she had no lanes available unless I could bowl in 27 minutes and be gone by 6:00 pm I strongly feel that this ruined my experience for that particular evening, look I get the whole league night thing but for goodness sake put up a sign! Letting people know that starting at 6:00 no lanes will be available! I bet I wasn't The only one dissatisfied with the attitude and rudeness I was treated with along with the absence of hospitality read more

I've always enjoyed coming here. Fun, relaxing atmosphere, didn't get hassled by covid restrictions. Recently renovated, place looks great. Super clean, excited to try the new virtual golf they are building. read more

This bowling alley does not attempt to provide the handicapped with high chairs that they allowed numerous people to use the day before in this tournament. We are a bowling organization that brought over 10 teams to the tourney, and spent thousands of dollars in their establishment, and I can't get a chair! Do not come to this bowling alley if you have any disabilities as they will not provide you with a simple accommodation (a chair) My husband was warned that the lady running the event was going to tell her boss on us for taking a chair for me...really. Wow! This bowling alley is not sensitive to customer needs. We spend good money to stay in the local hotels, shop, visit attractions, buy drinks, food, bowling pots, etc. to only be treated poorly at this bowling alley. Sad, sad, sad and very unnecessary behaviors by Clearview Lanes. Probably should think about using another bowling alley instead. read more

I mean I'm not a professional bowling although I did shoot a 99 today not to brag. What I am is a parent - who took my son to bowl for the first time for a school fundraiser. The staff was friendly and helpful. They did giveaways and the bathrooms were very clean. I will even say our ball return got clogged (? ) and the guys on duty acted fast to remove floor boards to retrieve what was like a national treasure of lost bowling balls. We were back playing in 8 minutes tops. I can appreciate that! read more

I am a lousy bowler but occasionally go for the benefit of my grandson. It was a bit complicated getting us both on the scoreboard but other bowlers clod by helped. Their arcade was awful, most not working but took our $.ost did not show cost to play, frustrated my grandson. read more

my familly came up here from maryland so my husband could bowl in a tournament. this is a nice bowling alley. fairly clean with a pro shop, snack bar, pool tables & a very nice arcade area that kept my 1 year old occupied for some time. There is also a very nice restaurant there called Hennigan's which is very large in size for something connected to a bowling center and the food is pretty good there too! if you venture out of the bowling alley there's not much to do in the immediate. it was a sunday morning when we were there. i took my 1 year old to the kmart down the street to kill some time. it was a nicer than normal kmart though. read more

I have been here twice recently and I must say that bowling has come a long way from when I was a kid. Now its got super cool lift bumpers for the kiddos and smart-system screens for keeping score. Nice rainy day fun! read more

Bowled here recently in a tournament and would say that these lanes a far better than the ones in Palmyra but thats not saying much. The ball return takes up half the approach for bowlers who stand left and the lanes are spotty at best. If you come here to bowl leave your agressive stuff home. Buy a plastic mickey mouse ball & you will do well. read more

We just moved to the area and decided to have my daughter's fifth birthday party at Clearview lanes. The woman who was working the front desk "Donna" was incredibly rude to multiple people in our party and had a terrible attitude. I complained about her attitude and told the gentleman at the front desk that she was ruining my daughter's birthday and when I walked away she gave me "the finger". What she didn't realize was that my sister was standing behind me and saw it. She came over to apologize, as she should have but this was completely unprofessional and unacceptable. We will not return to this establishment and would not recommend it to anyone. read more
