They came on time, cleaned inside the chaminey. No mess, friendly people. I thought they will check the top of the chimney too.

Chimney repair. They were super responsive, reasonably priced and provided quality work. I was very pleased.

$175 for 5 minutes and for someone to tell me the chimney had to be swept. No receipt, no report and no information about the "service" provided in writing other than the check I wrote. I could have had the chimney cleaned for $275 but they didn't stop to mention it before I wasted my money. I want my money back and feel I was ripped-off. I called them twice since to try and work something out with other services but have not gotten far. Bottomline, I DO NOT recommend going with this company. Shame on me for not taking the time to shop and research the other companies in the area. read more

Responsiveness, Value I used Sterling Chimney Solutions over a year ago and I'm still cleaning up the mess they left in my basement. They were contracted to run stainless pipe to my basement after another larger company found a few issues. I don't doubt that the job was hard. There was a brick mortared to the bottom of my chimney. The main issue I have is that the owner was so rude to me when I asked to speak to him when I found out it would take over a week to get this pipe in. He showed little to no remorse that there was rain and I was worried about it getting into my house from the hole left in my chimney. He actually didn't care about my concern at all...and I ended up going out and buying a tarp and taping it to the caping hole that was left in my chimney. He also didn't seem to care that his crew decided to crack open my basement without asking me or covering up at all. I am still finding dark soot in places to date. When I finally got ahold of him I was promptly told by the owner that because I was not an "emergency" I could wait. He basically kissed me off. He wouldn't even let me get a word in...it was embarrassing and insulting. Even though his crew filled my basement with soot they were pretty apologetic about it even though he couldn't care less. I generally go local because I love supporting local but man did this one bite me in the butt. Granted they got the job done and his guys worked tirelessly when they came...they left bricks in my yard and soot and crumbs all over my basement. I was cleaning it today and was reminded of this job...which made me post this. I can't get their footprints out out my basement...I will have to repaint the door that hides my boiler but figured I'd post here before I do.they were perfectly white before. read more

from a female in her 30s- first time home owner.... Leak in my chimney was showing stains on my ceiling. called certified chimney and 2 guys came. Very nice, told me what's going on and asked me to call back of there were any more leaks from my chimney. i had another leak so I called back and the owner came out the second time. He went up onto my roof and then left. No communicatio. After the owner's inexcusable behavior, I calling several times for some kind of quote and explanation of his findings. Instead, after my 3 messages, they emailed me a quote. I insisted that someone explain their findings...I was happy to pay the quote amount but as a first time home owner, I wanted someone to explain the findings in relation to the activities laid out in the quot. I finally got the receptionist to schedule a time for last week for someone to come and explain what they saw. No one showed up. I blocked off my entire calendar for their 3-4 hr window, and no one showed up. My time slot passed and at 4:58 PM I left a message telling the receptionist that no one showed up. I've heard nothing back from these people.Hope this helps others read more

chad from this company came out to look at the reason why my chimney kept backing smoke into the house. i had shamrock chimney put in a flue. and parge some of the firebox. these theives took $1,000.00 of my money left ne a receipt for $2,000.00 and screwed back to new york. thankfully clearview was at my home in no time! chad cleaned the chimney put in the flue and reparged the firebox with the proper heat protectant cement!!! . every step of the way, he showed me, in real time what he was doing using a phone camera so that i, the paying customer would be emersed in this process. chad was in my house for hours abd not one puff of smoke or spec of dirt was left behind! this company is the only company to use if you care about honesty, integrity and expertise in chimney repair work. i would happily leave my phone number for anyone who would like to speak to me further! i have already recommended them to my family and friends and on my honor, would heartily endorse this company!!! if i could give them 50 stars i would! read more

I'd give zero stars but that's not an option. Don't waste your time. I called on a Monday for an estimate and was scheduled for Thursday between 8 and 10. Nobody showed up. I called at 11:45 to see what was up and got voice mail. I left a message and didn't hear back. I called an hour after that, left another message and didn't hear back. I assumed that phone messages were a problem, so I sent an email later that day. Never got a reply. It's now four days later and I never heard a thing. Do not hire this company. I hired them to come out to do an inspection, cleaning and install a chimney cap. Not a cheap service! The sweep was a joke. The fireplace was still filthy - not sure if they even did anything. I could easily have used my own shop vacuum, saved $1,000 and probably would have done a better job. They also left trash behind all over our lawn, including a caulking gun and all their empty caulk containers. Almost all fireplace companies will use a camera and a light to scope out the entire chimney and then provide a full report. This company doesn't bother to provide such a service but will charge you just as much for an inspection/evaluation. When I reached out with my concerns, they stated they'd come back out to do an inspection. I'm sorry, didn't I already pay for an inspection? I'm also not impressed with the company's general level of communication. Lauren doesn't even have an email signature that states her title and position within the company and she never sent any sort of formal documents, including quotes, invoices, reports, etc. The entire business reads as unprofessional. Even the guys who showed up to work were questionable; they claimed they were also carpenters and could help us in other places around the house? They also helped themselves to all areas of our home without asking which made us uncomfortable. We just purchased our home and simply wanted confirmation it was clean and safe. Hired Certified Chimney Solutions rebuild our main chimney from roof line to code height and install chimney cap. Chimney cap blew off in the wind not even 4 months later. We have contacted them multiple times (via phone and email) asking if they could come put the cap back on. They have responded a few of those times that someone would be out 'soon' or within a few days. It has been 7 months at this point. And, to be perfectly honest, the chimney doesn't even look that great. Frustrating! read more

We moved into a new home this March. One of our most pressing projects was a chimney that by the looks of it had not been touched since the house was first built in 1928! A lot of mortar was missing and the chimney had a prominent lean to it above the roofline--never an ideal situation! That being said, I could not be happier with the work Brian did from the estimate to the end of the job. The price was incredible reasonable given the amount of work that had to be done--a total rebuild from the roofline up, new flashing, new cap, new liner, the works! But Brian's price was considerably less than other estimates. Not only was the pricing great, the craftsmanship was, too! Brian is a total professional who takes pride in doing great work. He is an honest and fair guy. Lauren, who handles the back end of operations, was equally a pleasure to work with. She gave us all the updates we could have asked for before the project began and through its completion. Very shady company asked to see certifications for the employees they told me they did have there certifications they also did not have any roof safety equipment and the employees were smoking weed and swearing on my roof and I saw the so called crew lead drinking in the van they are not knowledgeable at all they could not answer any questions about clearance and ventilation codes they told me too look it up online use at your own risk very unprofessional I recommend using a more reputable company where the employees have there certifications and proper safety equipment and are just overall knowledgeable about there work instead of just doing what there told to do it's one thing to just go and do something but it's another thing to know why it has to be done for your own sake do not use this company read more

Please don't think that Certified Chimney Solutions is a rookie in this business because they don't have many reviews left on Yelp. They just started using Yelp.com to cover more customers. Brian arrived on time and his 25-year-old work experience gave me all the detailed explanations about what specific problems my chimney has, how this problem is also linked to another problem my furnace has, and available solutions for my situation. I compared 3-4 different companies' service prices and his price was the most reasonable and acceptable, considering both quality and schedules available. He actually visited me during the Thanksgiving holidays! and worked hard even at 20 degrees! I highly recommend CCS! Brian is the person you can trust! read more
