I refinanced with ClearPath a year ago. They lowered my payment almost a hundred dollars which initially seemed like my gain. 3 months later my payment went up a hundred dollars because of "taxes and escrow were wrong". So, refinancing basically cancelled itself out and I only added thousands of dollars to my total owed. Initially I was impressed. They were quick, always ready to call me back and very friendly. But there was a catch I didn't discover until this year when they contacted me again, wanting me to refinance again even though I'm locked in for a 3 year rate. Apparently, Paul Chavez, who no longer works there, lied to me about "locking in" my rate after three years when it becomes adjustable. There is no "locking in" my rate, they actually have to refinance the whole loan again, and I get a new rate which I can lock in at. I was specifically told that in 3 years I could lock in my current rate, which was a bold faced lie. I spoke to a loan officer, who then told me they would forward this concern onto management. They did, and I received a call from a manager who profusely apologized but offered me no recompense. Instead, the loan officer had opened another refinance case for me, hitting my credit and lowering my score 40 points! I did not ask to refinance, I asked why I was lied to. I called the manager back and asked why his loan officers are checking my credit and he denied they did, even though my credit report gave me the address of the place checking my credit, which was ClearPath. He denied it anyways, even though I had facts counter to his denial. Just now, several months later, I just got another call from a loan officer, asking me how he can help speed up my refinance. I told him I am not refinancing and before I could eek out another sentence he said he'd take me off the list and hung up. So, after the lies, the illicit checking of my credit score which lowered my score, and the opening of a refinance when I never asked to do such a thing, I will be leaving this shit company in two more years when my rate becomes adjustable. Dear first time refinancers, please be cautious if exploring this company. They tell you one thing and do another. Bad business. I am not happy with what I have experienced. read more

You have, in your employ, two loan officers whose exemplary performances need to be recognized, applauded, and duplicated! Mr. Anthony Dimora and Steven Moore are those two individuals I am referring to. I was and am repeatedly stunned, surprise, and overwhelmed by their diligence, (above and beyond actually, way beyond), dedication, and professionalism. It is almost hard to believe that they get this involved and concerned with ALL of their clients! Yes, I took it personally after a time because of the constant updates they would give. Consistently giving me the 'blow-by-blow', every step of the way through my refinancing process. My conversations with Anthony and Steven would go beyond the business, to the point where as in Ant's case in particular, I feel as if I almost know his family! They both have an uncanny way of putting their client at TOTAL ease during a process that can be daunting at times for "newbies", and confusing at best. They worked in concert to alleviate my fears, get me the best possible rates. and CONTINUE to call me on occasion to see how I'm faring and give me the latest updates. I have so much confidence in these two gentlemen that I am acting as their one-man PR firm and telling all of my veteran associates about Clearpath Lending and Ant & Steve in particular. I was and am truly, pleased, no, blessed to have "met" these two guys (Batman & Robin), and can only hope that they are indicative of the type or level of officers/employees that ClearPath Lending has throughout their organization, and if not, I strongly suggest that you use these two as a template for your training/orientation classes for future officers. It has been my extremely good fortune recently to have had ClearPath Lending, and especially Loan Officer Joe Coutino, take care of my refinancing needs. I can't say enough good about the experience I had with them and, in particular, with Joe. Where to begin, we had received a marketing letter, I had tried to refi our primary home that is now a rental due to military move, we tried other lenders and we were not given much of any options to even try to help us. Absolute superb experience with ClearPath! As anyone with a VA guaranteed mortgage knows, you receive countless solicitations for refinancing through the mail. ClearPath is the ONLY company to date that very clearly stated the requirements required to receive their lowest offered rate. It wasn't even in "small" print! I called the number and my return call information was taken by what I assume was an answering service. The only negative aspect of the entire process was the length of time to actually talk with someone via phone but some leeway considered due to current situation around the country and I did receive an email within 24 hours. Once contacted by Lily Ali (Sr Loan Officer) the requirements for the lowest rates were again clearly communicated. Very simple application and closing process. Clear Path Lending did all that their original mass mailer indicated they could do. I was very suspicious at first, but decided to try them out in refinancing my VA load at a lower rate. I had a quote of 3.75% (down from 4.25%) from Quicken Loans. Joe Coutino was my contact/broker with Clear Path. He always keep me in the loop, and consistently responded to all my nervious inquires very quickly and completely. When the final closing looked as if it was not gonna make a midnight Friday deadline he pulled it off, and got the notary/closing person on the ball. I sincerely recommend him and his organization. The first indication of their quality was when I asked them to show why I should trust them. They hooked me up to an independent evaluation process for brokers that was very impressive, and was apparently set up by the US Govt in response to the collapse in 2008. I've now completed four refinancings with them (one on my primary residence and three on rental properties), and it's a been a great experience all the way around. I actually had a couple of issues arranging the closings for two of the properties, but that was not due to anything ClearPath did; it was a problem with the local notary who was assigned to do the closings. My broker, Ron Mir, however, always did his best to sort out any problems I was having, and he was a master at figuring out ways to find me better fixed rates with few fees in each of the four cases. I now have multiple fixed-rate loans ranging from APRs of 2.875% to 3.625% (the latter on a jumbo loan), all at least 1% better than my previous loans and better than any other brokers who had contacted me over the past 12+ months. My loan officer was very helpful, proficient, and guided me every step of the way in getting a VA Streamline loan - approved and funded in three weeks, which is an awesome turnaround time. The better prepared you are in getting the required documents to the company, in a timely manner, the better chance you will have a smooth process from start to finish too. Like I stated, "The turnaround on my loan was incredible!" However; in the beginning, the one and only thing that prompted me in going with ClearPath was the Loyalty Program my loan officer stated the company offered to veterans. I am too new in the process to make this determination... but time will definitely tell.
