Visited the Friendly Fisherman on a busy Tuesday night for the first time! Upon entry, we got in…read moreline to order and pay for dinner. There were plenty of picnic tables to pick from both in the front area of the restaurant or in the back, where we chose! One line at the register to order sort of slowed things down a bit but nothing too long. We were able to place our order and get seated at a back picnic table rather quickly! The rear of the restaurant is surrounded by stockade fencing for privacy, which was nice. Our food came rather quickly when we were alerted by the blinking disc. We had fish tacos, a full clam bellies plate, shrimp plate and a macaroni and cheese order along with 4 cokes. All 5 of us were satisfied with our food. I ordered the clam plate and i was hoping for a bit more clams but it was not the end of the world. The shrimp plate was excellent. The fish tacos were really good with plenty to eat! Alot of times the fish tacos do not amount to alot of food but this order certainly did! We all left very happy! The overall price was a bit high, but to be expected for July 4th weekend and Summer on the Cape! We were hoping for free refills of our soda but we were turned back at the register.....I thought everyone, these days, offer free refills...I guess not. Plenty of parking Good service Good food Little pricey

The patio in the back was a surprise with clean picnic tables and string lights between the tall trees... but the food was mostly a letdown: --Clam chowder was flavorless. --While the lobster on the roll tasted fresh, the ridiculously large chunks (3-4 inches) made it impossible to take a bite and eat as a roll. And my dining companion has a big mouth! (ha) --the fish on the fish and chips was a big portion, fresh, and served hot. --French fries and onion rings were lukewarm, at best.

Everyone told us to go to Chatham Fish Market and we did - and it was good. But honestly this place…read morehad better chowder, better poke bowls and measured up well with all the fried dishes. They were 15-20 minutes late on our call ahead order but that seems like a common event there so be ready for a little bit of a wait. Appeared to be plenty of people working out front but only one guy in the back? The smoked clam chowder might be the best chowder I've ever had. Get it.

I have read many great reviews and positive social media postings about Surfside Seafood so my wife and I were really looking forward to giving them a try. After our meal there I am wondering how this place got any good reviews at all! I ordered the fried whole belly clams plate and my wife got the fried scallops plate. The good news? The scallops were very good - ~12 nice sized scallops and they were all very fresh and tender. My clam plate consisted of six of the tiniest/scrawniest whole belly clams I have ever seen in my life - I thought they had served me clam strips! The fries were terrible - a nice portion but soggy, limp, flavorless and a huge disappointment. It was obvious that the oil they were fried in was not nearly hot enough so the vast majority of what we were served went into the trash. The restaurant shares space with a fish market so maybe they spend more time and effort ensuring the fish market is run well but from our experience tonight their kitchen is not. Hands down the worst seafood meal I have had on the Cape! I'm glad we didn't try the chowder! So our search for our "fave seafood restaurant" continues. We will not be returning to Surfside Seafood.
