I first tried the other…read moretwo dry cleaners nearby to me in the neighborhood and around Kingston Avenue, but they were overpriced. Honestly, they did a pretty bad job, too. The third time I needed dry cleaning done, I brought it here to Regency's. The staff was incredibly polite, friendly, and helpful. Also, they got my clothes clean, which is why you bring your garments to a dry cleaner's, isn't it? After weeks of using Regency Cleaners, I still love them and stop by weekly to pick up and drop off. On one occasion, I had a particularly difficult dress to clean because of the stains I had gotten on it. Luckily, Regency Cleaners was able to get them out and give it back to me smelling fresh, even if that meant extra work and effort on their part, which surely didn't go unnoticed. They let me know that this particular dress was going to take an extra bit of time and offered to let me pick up the other articles of clothing while they worked on the dress. Overall, Regency Cleaners is what you want and hope for in a dry cleaners: they do a good job fast, and they care about the quality and cleanliness of your garments while simultaneously care about making their customers happy (:

I really wanted to support this business. I'm a neighborhood resident, it came highly recommended,…read moreand as a Black-owned business I was happy to spend my money here. I dropped off two items on June 17 and returned today (June 29) to pick them up. I called before arriving but no one answered. Since I was only a block away, I figured I'd stop by anyway, surely a dry cleaner wouldn't be closed on a Monday. I arrived to find the gates down. The only notice posted said the business would be closed for holiday hours from June 30 through July 14. A neighboring business then told me they're closed every Monday. I was honestly shocked. My biggest concern isn't that businesses take vacations, everyone deserves time off. It's that customers were given no verbal notice and no visible reminder when dropping off their clothes that they needed to pick them up before an extended closure. My belongings are now inaccessible for over two weeks, with no opportunity to retrieve them beforehand. As someone who intentionally tries to support Black-owned businesses, this was especially disappointing. We often encourage our communities to "shop Black," and I wholeheartedly believe in that. But supporting our own also means holding ourselves to a high standard of customer service, communication, and respect for people's time and property. A simple conversation at drop-off or a sign saying, "Please pick up all garments by June 29 before our extended closure," would have completely avoided this situation. I truly hope this feedback is taken constructively because I'd love to see this business succeed. But experiences like this make it difficult to return, and unfortunately push customers to look elsewhere.

I also had some pants hemmed, and that turned out well. Overall, it's a solid option, especially when you're in a pinch, but I'd be cautious with certain alterations.

On January 30, 2026, I lost my phone, debit card, and laundry card so I had to used them more particularly during this time. Life stressors, with the loss of my full-time job and taking my board exam, and studying, I was struggling with managing everything and renovating my burnt down apartment which all were highly stressful situations and a breakup as well. I was and I am highly impacted mentally and financially related to this company. With all proven factors above, I reached out to 5 boro laundry and the company customer via their website labeled contact us. I received not one response at all. service person. The laundry in question was to clean sheets, comforter, clothing via their app which is usually the way to make my order. MY clothing was returned damaged. I reached out many times on their website listed on Google which d States to contact them via email phone and voicemail and I tried all avenues with no response, related to my laundry issue. I didn't hear back from management, but when we finally spoke, he hung up on my claiming he was called into a meeting, but he called me back on Saturday, a say I work and I didn't respond. When I answered his call eventually, he claimed he called me and I didn't answer and that he cannot access email or voicemail, so he didn't receive anything. He then stated, Ouida you wrote a scathing review on Google and yelp. Then he went on to say, you had 38 orders with us since 2020, and we always provided the greatest service. He also stated that you had money in your pockets that we returned to you and that i wrote a thankful review. So, he seemingly was justifying my damaged clothes with him returning money from my pockets that I was not aware of. He then stated you gave us 38 lbs. (referring to damaged bag) I said to him I gave you the damaged clothes (12 lbs. of said laundry). I responded saying, I sorted most of the laundry in my drawers, so I gave the most damaged items. He then says you paid 57 dollars for 38 lbs. not 12 lbs. So, he says, why complain about damaged laundry if you don't send all the laundry. So, I said are you insinuating that I burnt my college logos where the pockets can't open, my sheets and pillowcases shrunk, where I cannot put my pillows in, my clothing destroyed based on giving you 12 lbs. verses 38 lbs. He claimed I didn't call him back even though as we were talking, he hung up on me claiming he is understaffed. And 2 days ago, I get a charge of 28 dollars for them washing the damaged cleaned clothes that was for damage assessment. So, they charged me for cleaning the clothes that are being assessed for damage. When I spoke to Kevin, the customer service person on Friday 4 3 26, he stated he was not aware of this charge and because i had a pending order they charged .e for the pounds assessed. In addition, when I made any order on the i cloud app, since using the app, I would always give a 5-dollar tip, the driver tells me he never received not a single tip that I provided when I requested any new order on the app, more deception, fraud and theft. I also give my clothes with every order using my 5 boro laundry bag which I bought in 2021 during covid, so not only did all of the above happen. My alleged cleaned damaged clothing was rewashed damaged and were returned in someone else's black laundry bag with holes at the bottom. I have proof of the damages the charges and re charges for re washing the accessed damaged clothes that were rewashed and probably re-damaged. I also did not receive those clothes that was given for assessment since 3 7 2026. The clothes in question are still not returned to me and in the company's possession. I spoke to them again on 4.8 2226 and they spoke of no compensation. And the way of the world and trying to survive. It is what it is. I don't even know what to say anymore. I'll take those clothes and figure it out. They said We will deliver your clothes by Friday.

Ok... kind of annoyed but figured it wasn't a huge deal. I returned on Tuesday evening and my coat was ready as promised. Upon closer inspection, they'd relined it but missed the pockets, so the old holes were still there. The button on front was sewn inside out, so you have to twist the top of the coat so it can actually shut (basically, unusable). I guess I got what I paid for. Won't be back.
