They wouldn't give him anything for pain except Tylenol! I spoke to a doctor at the nurses station and he ordered some other pain med, but my husband never received it. The only time he saw a doctor was right after he was admitted. One PT person was extremely rude and kept forcing him to do PT. After he got out, we saw an orthopedic doctor and they said his hip was disintegrating! His leg popped like popcorn in a microwave with any movement. This is extremely painful. They should have done X-rays at the least And they would have seen the problem. His problem was so severe that he was referred to UCDavis. He is now scheduled for a hip rebuild on October 6th. This poor man has suffered for almost 10 months!

During our time…read morehere the following has occurred: -Continuously losing my mother's items despite the fact it has been clearly communicated several times including posted signs that I will take her laundry home (to avoid this exact situation). Nothing is resolved after two care conferences to date. Also a ring my mother has worn for years is missing. This is clearly a theft and not a "lost item". -Care staff ignoring medication orders from hospice and myself until a second care conference to resolve. -No follow up on requests such as being informed of room moves so I may be present as the CNAs do a horrible job relocating. -Terrible communication between shift staff despite saying it would be communicated to the next team which leads me to believe they do not do a shift change huddle which is common practice in any SNF. -Not following hospice orders for comfort care. There seems to be a huge disconnect with what hospice plans are and what the staff on duty deem appropriate. -My mom is a fall risk and has had several falls during her time here. -A handful of staff are extremely nice and helpful but many are absolutely rude and have zero customer service. As someone who works in the industry and always approaches any issues respectfully and kindly I am met with attitude from many of the staff as though it is a bother to them to care for their residents. -Until you have contact with the staff who are helpful you will not be given any direct contact information such as email or direct line, I have never encountered this within a business especially what should be a person centered business (and again I work in the industry and this is not anything I've seen before in any SNF) -They seem short staffed as it is common to hear call lights ignored and residents yelling from their rooms. -Staff will speak negatively about family and residents in open spaces. I have overheard many conversations I should not have been privy to. -When you do get a contact for a team member there is zero response or follow up. -If you have a loved one on hospice you need to take the hospice SSC with you to all meeting to advocate because they do not seem to be concerned with family input. -The photos posted on here look absolutely nothing like the actual rooms. Tour first. -Went this evening and my mother is still in dirty clothes she has been in for days. Overall if you have the option to go somewhere else do it. Would never recommend this place to anyone.

Because of infections that happened during my dad's stay they sent him away so they wouldn't have to be responsible for him. This facility doesn't want to care for or help patients that may require extra support and more tailored therapies. The nursing staff acts in a way that is unbecoming of the nursing profession. They have laughed at, made fun of, and rolled their eyes when asked for help with my dad. I came in multiple times to find my dad sitting in his own filth in tears that nobody would help him. Sitting in wheelchairs that were too short so his legs were jammed into his chest, left there unable to move in excruciating pain. Having nurses laugh at patients, drag their feet to offer hands on care, and leaving patients filthy and unable to move directly violates ethics standards set out by the Nursing Practice Act. Professional conduct should uphold patients dignity and show compassion not demean people who have gone through life changing health issues. The therapist for the most part are kind and caring. Though there are a few who have no business working with people in this type of environment (I'm looking at you Jeff). The rehabilitation aspect is the only thing I trust this facility with which is why my dad had a family member there nearly 24:7. My sister stayed over night three nights a week. The one star is for them and nobody else! Case managers are not communicative and unavailable the majority of the time. Perhaps other people have better reviews and experiences because they are not seeing the type of care their loved ones are getting. all I can tell you is be present and do not trust that these people are properly caring for those you love. If your loved one had a stroke and can't speak clearly, walk, or take care of themselves do not leave them alone here. A shiny new facility is a great distraction for the patient neglect that is happening when you aren't looking.

I have never encountered such kindness, care, and attention as we did at SRH. From the moment he was admitted, the entire team made us feel supported and seen. Donna, the case manager, was a gift from heaven--she guided us through every step with so much compassion and clarity. Dr. Yabes and the other doctors were incredible--professional, attentive, and genuinely caring. Maria and all the nurses were beyond amazing--so gentle, patient, and dedicated. They treated my dad like family, and that meant everything during such a difficult time. Rick, the pharmacist, was also wonderful--thorough, caring, and great at explaining everything we needed to know. The Physical Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech Therapists were the absolute best--encouraging, skillful, and deeply invested in helping my dad regain strength and independence. My dad stayed for about two weeks, and from beginning to end, our experience was outstanding. If you are considering this facility for your loved one, know that they will be in the best hands. I was on my last string. I did a Google search and found Pathways Recovery. I really didn't know…read morewhat I was getting myself into AND it was out of my insurance network. My phone calls to Pathways were met with compassion, understanding and follow-up. I showed up and I really lucked out. I learned that this was a dual-diagnosis program ... let's get to the core of my addiction. I started in detox. The team was incredible kind, supportive and genuine. From there, I moved into inpatient treatment. The structure, education, meetings, coping skills, tools, individual counseling, therapy meetings, etc ... all by design and extremely beneficial. I can honestly say that I did not meet one staff member that was not caring. That may sound a bit surreal but it's true. I received unsolicited feedback from the majority of who I encountered telling me how much they love their job and their colleagues. That speaks volumes to me ... and it should for you as well. Most of the Nurses, CNAs, and therapists went above and beyond. They explained what was going to happen each day, as to therapy, linens, tests, medication ajustments, etc. My wife required assistance with the commode, and they were great in helping her. Linen changed when needed. Therapists there are top notch. Negatives: As with everything in life, there is room for improvement. Pine Hill is understaffed, and Nurses are responsible for 10 to 16 patients at a time. The Commode was not cleaned after each use. (Intermittently) The rooms in the facility were way too warm. Multiple complaints by many patients. (This was a 3 week stay in May.) My Wife has Lipidema and needed wound care, which she didn't get at all the first 3 days that she was there, and then it was minimal. She did see a wound Dr. once a week after that, and the wound care improved. Most rooms are double occupancy, and the facility needs to take more of an active role in controlling the TV volume at night when a patient is blasting their TV after 10pm. Makes it hard for the roommate to sleep. My wife is picky when it comes to food, and said that she wanted no milk, cereal, or Apple sauce. She got all 3 anyway. Eggs and toast were cold when delivered.

I'll start by saying my Mom is definitely a complicated patient, but if they don't have the means to properly take care of someone then say so. The Medicare 5/5 is a joke. My Mom was here twice and sent back to the hospital in terrible condition from neglect. Second time she went straight to the ICU and almost died. Place smells nice, once you get past the front door however- disgusting. My Mom got a UTI and then colonized because of staff unhygienic practices. Always dependent loops in my Mom's catheter every single time I came to visit. No wonder she kept getting UTIs. The food is terrible- I don't see how anyone can recover being forced to eat the slop they feed you. They never communicate like they say they will. They say they draw labs, but how are your lab values so different from the hospital? When questioned the DON makes it like it my Moms fault, not theirs. When I originally came to get her stuff there wasn't a nurse around to get me her personal medication. I made a special trip to come back and get them only to be told that they "discarded" them. PT staff rough with my Mom. Told her, "You want to go home and see your family? Get up" - DO BETTER

TERRIBLE, POOR, & UNPROFESSIONAL practice. I was referred here by my orthopedic based off my…read moreinsurance network. I made an appointment about a month prior to the appointment date. Over the phone I gave them every bit of information on my insurance card. Appointment day I handed them my insurance card that they verified for a second time and allowed me to participate in my first and last PT session. I had ACL/ meniscus surgery about 10 days prior. In the session they took me in 15 minutes late, so now my hour session was 45 minutes. They rubbed my leg for about 5 minutes and then proceeded to tell me to lift my surgically repaired knee forward, backwards, and sideways 10x three sets of each. When I finished my first therapy session they made appointments for 3x per week for the next two months. When I returned for my second PT session they denied my entrance and cancelled all the future appointments they had made because "my insurance is NOT networked" with them. Shouldn't this have been confirmed the day I called and made my appointment a month prior to my appointment? Or maybe the day I showed up...a month later? They claim to have called twice prior to my appointment to confirm "missing insurance information". But I have absolutely no recollection. And believe me I had all the time in the world to call them back and give them any "missing information" they needed due to my physical condition. Since then, I have been receiving mail with a full charge of $374 dollars for one useless session they failed to tell me that I was not covered by my insurance. Even though they had over a month to verify it prior to my appointment and the day of when I gave them the physical copy. I messaged the billing department and they told me that despite everything, out of "goodwill" they can reduce my bill to $209 "full & final". Having to use crutches fresh off a knee surgery and drive myself 25 minutes for a useless laughable PT session and then later do it again to be denied, canceled, and billed the way they have been is disgusting. I just received another letter in the mail yesterday for the full $374 amount. So much for the "goodwill" My one and only, first and last therapy session was an absolute joke. I promise you that researching athletes that went through the same injury you may have suffered will get you better, stronger, & faster results than this place will.
