This company is not to be trusted. We bought a home. and it has been in limbo for 2 years. They have not completed all the cosmetic items promised such as calking, painting, and our door does not lock, nor do we have the screen slider. They took the screen that they originally brought, which was for a smaller glass door. The new screen was to be ordered, yet it has been over 9 months and we still have not gotten the screen. I can't stress how many emails and phone calls that have been made, with the promise that they are working on it, but we haven't gotten any of our needed repair/replacements. Both the local Clayton Homes on Martin Way, Lacey Wa.,and corporate offices in Oregon have been involved, with no satisfaction. I would never buy from this company, they are not honest and have no integrity. read more

Very Disorganized! The individuals that work at this office are friendly and try to give you a good costumer experience. That being said, the corporate office ties them up in red tape and those working at the local end can't ever seem to do anything right - or wrong for that matter without massive layoffs. This location is looking for their third GM in less then a year for a reason. Their lack of communication with us left my whole family homeless for going on a year now. The home we were supposed to buy was supposed to be completed a year ago. They failed to give us notification that it would not be done on time until we had already moved out of our apartments and couldn't move back in. It wasn't until they were three months passed planned completion that they (and by they I mean the GM that they had at that time) agreed to pay for us to stay in a hotel until the project was completed. The GM they had at that time took really good care of us and understood our frustration. However, eventually he grew frustrated and resigned. Once he left we saw the writing on the walls. Cooperate stopped paying for any expenses that they were contractually obligated to and left us holding a bill of over $9000 without even so much as a reason. Best decision we ever made was walking away! Just wish we hadn't waited a year to do it. I would plead with anyone, don't go through these people. read more

My first review of this company came down hard! And for good reason; I was having a bad customer experience, and I feared nobody cared. But, I was apparently wrong about that. They took responsibility for my bad experience. Here is that story. Where this company served me best besides selling me a home I absolutely love, are the lengths they have gone to in salvaging my customer experience. So many things have changed since my initial review. Here goes nothin'. The workmanship of the blocking, tie-down, sewage and water hook-up was impressive. That inspection passed with flying colors, as it should have. Special thanks to the crew working on the site. You guys were great. The salesman and manager both worked with me diligently and gracefully to right any wrongs that were made. I began to realize they did care that my experience had been tarnished. That really helped in reconciling the deal. Once the first inspection was completed, hooking up the electrical lines to the house took place. Those guys did a great job, too, and our electrical inspection passed as well. Simultaneously, the framing for the skirting was finished, and the skirting applied. The color doesn't go well with the house, so the contractor offered to have it painted the same color as our exterior trim. That's fair and makes us both happy. The completed skirting job was done well by a great crew. Then, it came time to erect my back porch. The dealership gave me a larger cedar porch at their facility, but when crew member Mike went to pick it up, it didn't meet his standards, and the dealership paid for the materials to build me a brand new back porch. Mike built this porch to perfection! He paid attention to every detail and has become my new favorite part of the house! I was so blown away at how gorgeous he made my porch look, as well as fixing a trim issue I had at the back of the house, I was almost moved to tears! We have some minor work to do to pass the final building inspection, and we have the interior walk-through with punch list items to be fixed. This is mostly due to the home traveling from one site to the other and to work out little quirks to make it perfect. All in all, I am very happy with my purchase. I have the most gorgeous cedar sided home! People stop in front of my house and compliment me on how nice it looks every day! I am a proud homeowner, for sure. It was a bumpy ride at first, but this group of people took my harsh criticisms to heart, and worked their asses off to make it right for me. Thanks, Mike! You're the best! They even offered to buy me the materials for my back yard fence for my two little Chihuahuas. We have some huge tree roots that will have to be cut through to set the posts, and I am tool poor with no carpentry skills, so I regretfully have to decline that generous offer. Maybe I should ask for a washer/dryer, instead! My husband and I have a 5-year plan to move into our " Dream Home." We want to find the land, purchase it, get it ready with electricity, water, and septic. And when we do, we are going to Clayton Homes in Lacey, Washington, to have a custom designed double-wide home built. And if you decide to do the same, tell them I sent you. So buyer beware. To be clear we have not purchased yet. I want to comment on the homes and staff. I have looked at 4 different businesses and by far Clayton homes use the best quality products like cabinets have big closets and do really unique built ins. The Company is part of Berkshire Hathaway do I have to say more? Staff were very helpful and the production factories look like they care about their employees. My husband and I were blown away looking at the quality and uniqueness of the model homes. Go by check them out and the Viking tavern next door has really good food. read more

I wish I could give negative stars, if I could It would be a minus 5 stars. Through the entire process I was lied to by Trevor and Glenn Rossi. I was told that this was going to be a simple process, that it would only be 8 to 12 weeks before I had a home on the ground and because I was paying cash this would take the loan officer out of the process. Long story short in February 5th 2016 it will be a year since I gave Trevor the first $500.00 dollars to secure the price on the home. He told me that he would send out a contractor to do a bid and site walk. Two months passed no contractor, I had to call Trevor to get a contractor out to my property. First two were a joke finally the third contractor good deal, with a good bid. Mind you I am doing most of the site prep my self. So I went in the 7th of September 2016 signed the home contract and on their request gave them another $500.00 Trevor told me that this would get the home build started and that it only takes three weeks to build a home in the factory. But it had to be put into the production line and that's what this contract and $500 would do. November 9th 2016 I sit down with Trevor and Glenn at Clayton Homes to give them 1/2 of the money for the home and so they can get a color copy of my ID card. I inquire how long before my home is done Trevor told me that Clayton Homes needed 1/2 down when it was half way through the build. So my estimated time off line should be November 30th. Trevor tells me oh it's not showing on my computer I'll go call and we will see. 5 minutes later he comes back and tells me looks like the middle of December. I'll check and speak with the factory and see what can be done, and get a better timeline. two days go by I get a call from Glenn Hey, not the best news, looks like your home wont be in the finish build till end of January 2017! I tell Glenn this will not do you have to do better than that. A call a week later well we got it moved up to January 15th 2017 will be it's off line date. Not the date it will be at my property but when they expect to finish the build. Then I'm told they will want me to give them the balance of the home before it will be delivered to my property. So I'm into this home for $58.000 to this point and I am supposed to hand them another $58.000 before the home ever leaves the factory? How can I in good faith hand this company another $58.000 dollars, and expect them to hand me a set of keys to a home that is delivered, setup correctly, and livable when they would have every bit of the money for the home. The reason they gave me for needing the home paid off before they deliver is because they are concerned that once the home is delivered to the property that they are going to be locked out of the property by some imaginary gate and I wont pay them. Oh and let's not forget that once the Contract was signed in September Trevor added a two line draft of paper to it on November 9th saying that I agree to pay him the remaining balance before the home is delivered. with three lines scribbled in blue ink on it sign here. with no notary on site or anything, so he has now amended my contract that was notarized. in September. If you walk in to a Clayton Homes and Glenn or Trevor stick their hand out and introduce them selves Run like Hell and don't look back. If anything improves I will amend the review till then, I would not recommend doing business with Clayton Homes Manufacturing. read more

I purchased a Clayton Home June 2017. Yes, a couple of things needed attention, the faucet in the master bath bathtub was not turning all the way so I could get hot water, not lukewarm, and the toilet tank was slightly cracked. This is common in my experience in moving into new homes, often times the crack is there from the manufacturer, and you don't really realize it until the water comes in. My aluminum sink in the kitchen wasn't sealing and was leaking. For some reason the sink just didn't want to seal properly, so Clayton Homes upgraded me to a beautiful white porcelain sink. No leaks! Clayton Homes have been very easy to work with all the way from my first inquire about homes, financing, purchasing, paperwork and final walk through. Anything that needed a little more TLC in my opinion was taken care of in a very speedy, thoughtful manner by management and contractors. They've went out of their way to make sure I was happy with the home. The house is beautiful and well made. I am very happy with Clayton Homes and everyone from top management, to the contractors. I would and do recommend them to anyone looking for a home. Thank you. I am very pleased. read more
