Had a lot of fun. I got the Groupon to come here. Good for 5 sessions that could be split among people so it was perfect for me and my daughter to come. It was a great surprise for her as she's never done anything like this. She's 5 so I wasn't sure how it would go but she and I both loved it. Definitely recommend. They have a nice choice of things to do. We could have painted a canvas, painted an item to go in the kiln, it done a mosaic. My daughter painted a unicorn to go in the kiln and I did a sun to do mosaic. They had a lot of colors for paint and mosaic pieces. So everything was beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. They explained things well. There's wifi there. Can't wait to go back to get her piece and do some more. read more

When you're running out of things to do in Long Island, stop by ClayNation. It is more on the expensive side-- all materials (paint, brushes, clay, canvas, silkscreens, etc) are provides but the clay itself and the studio fee alone are pricey. Nonetheless, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and it reminded my of my childhood. There is so much artistic freedom and the employees are kind and willing to help provide you with anything you may need. read more

I came to this place for some arts and crafts destress around thanksgiving. I've been to similar places, this one is just as cute and welcoming. But the woman that was working...wish I got her name, the only way I could describe her is "Art Fairy" she was so great with the kids in the studio, making her own crafts, whistling Christmas carols. The wrong execution of the right idea. The thought of giving kids a place to be artistically creative on a rainy day is a good one, but that's where anything good about Claynation ends. Yes it's expensive, but that's not the worst part. The worst part is the staff. Their attitude is consistently that "they're doing you a favor" of some sort. I have been to Claynation for a number of kids birthday parties and have found every employee to be cold and standoffish. This has been a consistent theme and it unacceptable. I can only think that ownership must not treat them well or reinforce the idea of customer service. The sign in their bathroom cops an attitude too (see attached) and is emblematic of the problems at Claynation. read more

We came as a group of 4 adults wanting to do something fun and relaxing on our weekend to escape the daily grind of working in the city and this came to mind since I had done this before where I lived previously. First of all, this was the first time I had ever heard of studio fees. Both places near me where I lived previously did not have this, and they built in the price of their "studio fees" into the price of the pottery/product. Secondly, the pottery/products cost about the same. So, I felt like I was getting charged an extra $8 per person for no reason. Also, if two people are working on one piece, it doesn't make sense to charge an extra $8 for that person either. It would have also been nice to have some more guidance when you walked in about what you're supposed to do and then it might actually have been worth the extra $8 per person. I have done this before elsewhere, but Claynation is different so they should have someone explain things when you walk in regarding what the process is if you're interested. When we walked in we got no attention from the girls working and we almost walked away and left. I think these small details are definitely things that ClayNation should work on improving and making better! read more

We go to claymation whenever we have some time but we signed up for art in the park and the kids loved it and the staff is so good with kids with patience and they show kids enthusiasm towards the project. We love painting with claynation! read more

So much fun! I love arts and craft things but I'm not exactly good at drawing or painting. The items here are so easily done you can do this at any age and skill levels. They have so many things to pick from in all sizes and price range. Some stuff as cheap as 10$. Perfect place to hangout with friends while making an awesome thing. Can't wait to go back soon! Make sure you read my addendum. I showed up at my grandaghter's birthday party to find parents and children huddled by a locked front door. It was cold and the place was dark and closed. Some of the moms tried to call the owner. I couldn't believe it. No one knew what to do next. Luckily I remember I had T-shirts and permanent markers and I told everyone to come to my house and the day was saved. It is really unforgivable . My daughter got some lame excuse. I personally don't think there is an excuse and she should get some compensation for her trouble and disappointment. Very unprofessional of clay nation. Addendum:Afterward I found out that the lady was very apologetic and gave my children their deposit back plus a gift to the store. So my kids are happy them I'm happy. Finding new and exciting things to do in long island is difficult. This place won't wow you because it's so fancy, but it is a rare find for its thoughtfulness and detail. My friend went to go pick up her jug and a wonderful woman who helped us with everything- who wouldn't be friendly in a place with beautifully decorated plates and trinkets. Easy step by step procedure: you pick what you want to pain/decorate, i.e., mug, tray, bowl, etc. etc., (each priced accordingly) and then you find a table, grab paints, research some designs with handy binders of pictures, and then you get started. Prices vary by what you choose to paint, and then studio is $8 for the paints, and the job thats done to glaze and put through the fire to make your object ready for us. A steal. Go with your kids, go with your college friend to catch up (or sit in silence because you're too focused) or make a party of it. tips probably better elaborated on website: mondays-mosaics tuesdays-ladies night where studio costs $6 read more

A good selection and pottery items are alot pricier than other places. Luckily, I purchased a Groupon for the sitting fee. Took my daughter and 4 other girls, total came out to $145. Had I paid normal sitting fee. It would have been $185 so I recommend getting a Groupon for the sitting fee. The girls who worked there were not too attentive. They only helped with initial paint selection. I also never got a courtesy call to let me know my item was ready. read more

This place was wonderful. Took my 5 year old daughter there to paint a mug as a gift. She had a great time. The person working there made us feel super welcome ( despite of us coming in an hour before closing time). They let her roam and pick out a piece to paint then walk back and forth to pick out colors and get refills. Absolutely no pressure kind of place. Would highly recommend it. Very disappointing experience. Bought Groupon that did not make it clear that you would have to pay many times the cost of the Groupon when you arrived to do any of the advertised activities. It turns out the Groupon was only for the paint. When you arrive, you have to pay many times the cost of the Groupon for the material to paint on, which were marked up many times their cost. You could not bring your own materials or paint on paper. I have bought many Groupons, and this is the first time I've been required to pay additional costs to make any use of the Groupon at all, without it being clearly stated. read more

Julie, Carly and staff are amazing!! They are so sweet, kind, artistic, and very generous. We held our Bullyproof project event here and they offered their facility so that children from our community were able to paint special rocks that were worthy of Bullyproof awareness. Their facility is clean, and spacious and you walk in feeling comfortable. Everywhere you look there is art displayed, whether it is a mosaic, canvas painting, pottery paining, and so much more. ClayNation came to my summer camp and did a fabulous job with 100 of our campers. They were on time organized and had everything we needed to make it fun and successful for the campers.
