I provided all of my documents at that time, and we shook hands on a plan to move forward. Unfortunately, that was the last communication I ever received from him. Since then, I've called at least five times to check on the status of my return. I spoke with his receptionist multiple times and with an account/tax manager twice. I also left messages specifically requesting a call back from Brent himself. It is now December, and I still have not heard a single update. The complete lack of follow-through and communication has been incredibly disappointing, and I am now seeking a different CPA. I do not recommend this firm.

I sought out an expert individual tax preparation firm after my previous firm made several…read moreincompetent mistakes. With Brent Forbush's Big 4 CPA background I was comforted in that regard. That is considered the gold standard in accounting. Even with Forbush's significantly above market fee, I was comfortable. However, my work was delegated to an overworked newby, whom I suspect was not even a CPA. When I received an unexpected and unexplained refund check from the IRS, I brought it to his attention. He didn't know what to do, so he did nothing. The result of this inaction was an eventual penalty by the IRS. I finally obtained Brent Forbush's personal intercision with the IRS, but it was to no avail, even though the mistake was really made by the IRS. I did not get what I paid for and I have now taken my business elsewhere. I do not recommend this firm for individual tax preparation.

And my wife's inheritance included a complicated stock situation which Amy was able to navigate with ease. Highly recommended.

Without hesitation they recommended Paul Sidley so I booked a meeting with him. The meeting provided answers to nearly all my questions and the process was similar to that of my prior choice, but it was better. What made it better was "flexibility. Instead of booking an appointment, showing up and waiting while the process was put together, Paul simply asked that I fill out a Q &A sheet then bring all my papers in and he would call me when he was ready for signatures. The entire process was smooth as glass and I did not have to sit and wait while he completed the forms. Wow....what a concept; make the process simple. I literally completed the process in less than 10 minutes, paid a reasonable fee and Paul took care of the rest. I heartily recommend Paul for those who are organized, punctual and value their own time.

Amid this COVID and all the stresses and problems that causes, there hasn't been a blip in the service. My Father was a CPA and I have always done my own taxes. But with my business and my personal returns getting more complicated I felt it was time to have some other eyes take a look. There were so many things that I was unfamiliar with. Luda saved me $20,000 in taxes the first year and with changes going on we met virtually just a few days ago and she has shown me what steps to take to help with what I am doing in the future. Again, more things I was unfamiliar with as far as putting money into SEP/IRA plans and what you can do as a self employed person. Luda is very knowledgeable and keeps up with what is going on. One of my favorite things is the newsletter she sends out periodically to clients letting us know what is going on. This year it discussed the PPP loan program. Kept me informed all along the way. Needless to say, I'll be a client again this year.
