2 baskets of coins
John Y.

This is a really fun place to spend an hour or two with your family. We visited Markham for vacation and was happy to stumble upon this place at First Markham Place. We visited for the food options but ended up having a great experience at Claw & Kitty first. We splurged and spent like $80 in tokens to get a free cutting board. It was 2 baskets of coins. Surprisingly, the staff here were very motivated to help us win toys. They spent time explaning the double-grip system of their machines, and they even set up some toys to make it very easy for us beginner's to feel like winners. We ended up getting quite a bit of stuffed plushies. The great thing about the store is you can also trade things you don't want for nicer things that are not in the claw machines. There is a very wide variety of cute plushies to choose from. I highly recommend a visit to this place if you are in the area. The staff is above and beyond friendly, the place is clean with a nice photo op setup, and there are so many machines and options for you to choose from! Parking is abundant outside as this is a mall. Keep up the great work!

A store with only claw machines in the First Markham Place Plaza! The staff here are super friendly! They really are rooting for you to win! In fact, they help you and offer tips and tricks and sometimes even return your token so you can try again as they did with my kids who were showing obvious disappointment when they didn't secure the prize. Upon entry, you purchase tokens and pick up a cart to store all your prizes. At the end, you are given the option to trade in some of your prizes. So much fun but can get pricey as you will go through your tokens quick!

Some of the final prize selection for $80 spent. We also got another plush keychain, a plastic cutting board & a pair of socks

Pros: Spacious & lots of claw machines! Discounted Cash option, lots of variety plushies & prices. Good value for the money: even got a free gift (Sanrio themed plastic cutting board) for purchasing $80.00 in coins. Excellent service: the employees are very friendly, attentive and helpful. They offered to teach us how to use the machines without us even asking when they saw us struggling. Kudos to them! Plenty of free parking spots in the mall plaza lot. Cons: Only one unisex washroom so there will may be a long wait if occupied & the air flow was stuffy (not enough AC). They close early (6pm) compared to other claw machine arcades in the area that close as late as midnight. Honestly, I'm writing this review because of the great customer service I received from the employees. I'm very impressed. Would definitely recommend and come back! They employees also kept cleaning the machines! A+ for cleanliness. Attached is a photo of some of the prizes that we exchanged for. Would recommend and come back!

I have passed by this place so many times that I have lost count. Dinner out with my oldest brought us here for a great night of fun and and some good laughs. I had no idea what to expect walking in. Immediately we were greeted very warmly at the door and staff explained where we could purchase tokens. Grab a cart once you walk in, because you will definitely need it! Each machine costs 3 to 8 tokens per round. Each plushie is worth a certain amount of points. This means you can play whatever you want instead of spending a small fortune on the harder games costing more tokens. When you are done playing, you can trade-in plushies that you win to upgrade to another prize at the front counter. Or keep what you win, there are some cute plushies and characters in the machines including Hello Kitty & Cinnamoroll We purchased 100 tokens for $56. All of the staff were incredibly nice and helpful offering tips on how to play. They were refilling machines and fluffing up the plushies, also giving us 2-3 free plays. Every where you look, you can see everyone has half or full carts of plushies. Just a little bit of technique and focus, these games are super easy! We loved the trade in upsizing option and took advantage of that before leaving. They also have space for birthday parties and private parties. Next visit back will also be with hubby and my youngest, for more fun!

Exchanging our prizes for bigger ones

My family and I came here with a few kiddos aging from 4-19 years old and then a few of us adults. This place was so much fun for the entire family! Loved that they taught us how to use the machines and explained the point system and let us know that prizes could be exchanged for bigger prizes. If we are ever back in this area we will visit again! HELLO FROM ARIZONA!

This place is fun but you can really end up spending a lot of money here. I came here when they first opened and really enjoyed my time. Wining is not hard here. They actually want you to win. The more you win, you can trade off for other plushy. Kids really enjoy this place and honestly so do I. Place is well kept but will get crowded.

At work, our department tends to organize a team event every summer. I have organized a number of them. We have an intern this year, so the torch has been passed on to her. I tend to suggest a number of activities, regardless of whether I'm the organizer or a supportive participant. Last year, I suggested an activity based on a Yelp event that I had been to. This year, I have planted a similar seed. I've been to two different Yelp claw game events. I have mentioned it to a number of folks, including my manager and intern. It's a question of having our intern bring the idea home. I told her about my experience at Claw & Kitty. We both live in Markham, so we have a chance having our event here. It's strength in numbers! Claw & Kitty is located at First Markham Place. There's plenty of parking by this store. I recently walked in to check out the coin prices. It's a huge store. It's popular. You can't miss it. It's pink. You basically buy tokens at the counter to play the claw games. Any extra coins or points that you have from your visit can be carried over to your account for future use. Token prices start at $56 for 100 tokens. There's also a stamp program where you get 20 free tokens when you collect 8 stamps. The number of tokens that you use varies from one claw machine to another. Those claw games considered to be easier on the level of difficulty scale require fewer tokens to play them. Simon is the owner. He and his staff will take the time to show you how to play. They truly want you to win prizes at the claw game. The have shared valuable tips that have made me look like a professional. I always felt that I was horrible at claw games. However, my last two experiences at claw games, including my time here, have made me more confident playing them. I have actually won prizes without having to outright buy a plushie. Miracles can come true! I recommend getting a small cart for your winnings. I always thought that I didn't need one because I suck at claw games. Not here. Everyone is a winner and getting a cart for your plushies is necessary. I have received these tips at this store: - If you're playing for a boba plushie, it's long in shape. It's easier to grab vertical ones. - When playing for a rabbit plushie, grab its feet. - Knock a plush over to the drop area if it's next to it. It helped that the claws had silicone tips, which allowed me to easily and effectively grab plushies. I looked like a claw-gaming expert here! You head back to the counter with your winnings. You have the option of keeping the plushies that you have one or trading up for prizes that are available. I tend to do a hybrid. I like some of my plushies that I've won, but also like items that I see at the counter. Here's hoping that our team plays claw games this summer. Otherwise, you'll likely see me here honing my claw game skills and building up my plushies collection. (228)

This was the first claw machine arcade I have ever been to. I muddled for a while before I found my groove and after many failed attempts got to around a 75% success rate? (May be flattering myself, found a Moomin machine that had higher payout). I've heard from my friends that Claw and Kitty is the most fair arcade, to do the double tap, that the employees will show you tips (if you have a small child with you). Something that annoys me is how each machine needs 4 tokens, I bought a package of 200 coins which could have been 50 plays for 1 token each and I wouldn't have to carry such a heavy coin basket worrying about massive spill, but all claw machine arcades do this, some marketing tactic, but it's so unnecessarily inflated. The plush are pretty cute and there is a massive variety you can exchange them for.

Super cute and good quality work plushies, easy to win too. You can trade your winnings for even a bigger prize too!

This place is a GEM! The owner Simon, really is a genuine fan of claw machines and really shares this passion through his friendly staff and onto us tourists. You will leave this place a winner every time and smiles all around. My kids were excited to visit but nervous in losing like previous attempts at other places. My husband was a non believer this place was as positive as I described it after a Yelp Event, but came out surprised. Located in a busy parking place at first Markham, Claw & Kitty signage stands out in bright pink neon colour, alluring you into the store for some fun. Steps: 1) get coins(extra coins and points can be saved on your account for later) 2) grab a shopping cart for all your winnings, trust me you will need it! 3) ask a floor store employee to show you how it's done AND explain the different styles of claw machines. They usually even give you a free test run before you start feeding coins in. Re ask anytime, and as often as you'd like, they really are patient, friendly and excited to help you win. 4) find your choice machine and if it's not brimming full with stuffies or it looks packed down--ask an employee to restock or fluff up the machine for you, they really are good to set you up for success! Shout outs to Lord & Myo for trying to teach my kids the swinging claw technique. We kept grabbing them but losing it before the drop. It's so challenging, these guys are good! Had a shopping cart full in an hour but not from the swinging machine. Tips: 1) double tap timing is key 2) grab the easiest one in the middle of the machine, you can ask employee to trade for another in machine 3) play the cheaper machines (3coins) to practice on before challenging yourself with more costly ones or the hardest swinging claw one at the 3 star. 4) have fun! The most challenging part of this place is the Trade In Station.....how to decide what to buy??? Last mention: this store seems to have a temporary temperature issue, so be prepared it's kinda stuffy warm currently while the weather is hot. Bring a cold drink or dress for non AC weather. Great place to bring your kids or a date, we'll be back again soon for more plushies.

Worth the visit. For $56 worth of tokens, you could win a decent amount of prizes and be entertained for quite some time. The staff is constantly walking around offering to assist if you need help or uncertain of how to win any particular game. The staff want you to have a great experience and it shows. The stuffies are distributed inside each machine well so they're easy to win. My recommendation is to find a machine with a lower difficulty level, win as many as you can and trade-up. I found ugliest stuffy (some frog-like creature, maybe they were characters to a cartoon, who knows ) was the easiest to win but no way would I be keeping them. So i traded them... there was the cutesiest of characters and huge selection to select from. Easily, I think I walked away with 10 trade-up toys which way more than enough. Special mention, in the machine, the claw drops when you hit the button once but you can hit it again for the claw to grip close. Should help you snag some toys better. Good luck and have fun!

Had a ton of fun! The staff here is soo friendly and helpful in giving you tips on how to win every time. It did become quite addicting after a while when you start getting into a rhythm. You can trade in for other plushies, blind boxes, pokemon cards, microbricks, and so much more with what you win from the the claw machines at the end. There's so many options! Definitely a great place for a fun night out with friends and family. Make sure to bring a bag to carry out all your winnings!

very crowded especially on Sunday. Fun for the kids but also not cheap to buy the coins to play. You win the prizes and game opportunity to trade them in for other items and toys. Best to look for the machines that take the least amount of coins and win those prizes to trade up.

None of the mechanisms work and the staff don't pay attention to manually start them either. So basically you'll solve a problem and wait around and wonder for 20 mins why nothings moving even if you got it right from the start. Then you have to ask for a clue (which they won't give, it'll just be a condescending phrase that tells you to do what you've already been doing.) then after fighting with them for five min they'll realize it's their fault and manually start it, wasting not just our time but our money. 30 dollars a person is just ridiculous for what this is. If you want more fun lock yourself in a dark closet for 30 min and try to get out, you'll probably feel more satisfied anyways. I will say that we did ignore all of the red flags 1. The bad reviews online 2. The two groups that came out super pissed off before us fighting for refunds cause nothing worked for them 3. How the place looked So kinda on us but... So many rooms to go through that it made the experience well worth it. My only criticism would be the staff. We didn't escape the room and only had one section left to get through. When the staff came in telling us we were out of time, the normal procedure would be to walk us through what we had left. Instead, the guy said he was unable to finish a walk through because the next group had arrived. It seemed that he was unwilling to walk us through the remaining aspects because if he did, then he'd have to reset all the puzzles... I've been to quite a few escape room locations and never has this happened before, even if the next group had arrived.. Overall the Osaka High room was pretty cool, but I only wish I knew how it ended.....

This song came to mind. It can be easily adapted, with a pending lawsuit! Claw Me Baby has a ton of claw machines. This review is simply about my browsing experience. I did not play for a couple of main reasons: - I suck at claw games. I don't have the skill. I get more bang for my buck if I just pay outright for a plushie or whatever the item is. - We are in a pandemic and the last thing I feel like doing is playing a claw game at a mall. Despite my second concern, these machines are sanitized often for folks who love playing claw games and have the inclination. To start playing, you go to a coin exchange machine that features Hello Kitty. You pay for tokens to use each claw machine. It's $1 for each token. There was a slot for bills. I didn't check whether it accepts credit or debit cards. The machines are bright and the merchandise is enticing. There were bubble tea and Line friends, such as Brown bear, plushies. Having one with my bubble tea in hand would have been awesome! When the pandemic is over and my urge to play claw games returns accompanied by a company bonus safely deposited in my chequing account, I'll try my hand at them. (427)

It was our first time visiting and it certainly didn't disappoint. My kids had a blast! The playground is pretty big with various activities to do. They even have an area of claw machines and an arcade - you can win tickets and redeem for prizes. One thing to mention is finding parking was a bit challenging. They offer party packages but the pricing quite steep in my opinion so I don't think I would consider it. To be honest even the admission is pretty expensive $30 per kid. My niece is 11 months and they charged $8 (weekend) for the entire day w/ in and out privilege and one adult was free m. Additional adults were $6 (weekend pricing) which isn't so bad compared to other children playground. All children are required to wear grippy socks and adult need to wear regular socks and can also purchase from there for $3. The area is huge! There's a seating area outside in the lobby for those who don't want to go inside and can watch from the outside. There are cubicles to store your shoes. Then inside there's an area for arcade & claw machines for the older children. Bouncy castle, huge playground, and enclosed area for younger kids. There are also plenty of spaces for adults to hang around and a section to buy snacks but seems like it was closed when I was there. I also appreciate them offering slipper for the bathroom cause it was quite wet in the floor. TBH, I wasn't sure what they would have for babies but surprisingly my cousin's 11 month old had a blast! She loved the slides, the wall with the sticks (not sure what they're called), and crawling around in the playground. I feel like they depend more on parent supervision as there was only 2 people working/supervising the area. Overall, fun place for kids!
