I had a manicure and the nail technician cut my finger by my cuticle. It hurt. I acted as though it wasn't a big deal because I didn't want her to feel bad . But she never said sorry, just got up and got something to put on it. After trying to get the bleeding to stop, she continued to paint it, but it continued to sting. She had to apply more gauze for bleeding after she started painting the nail. I know accidents happen, but acknowledging what happened and giving an apology are appropriate. I feel that she was trying to finish quickly. She didn't ask me if I was happy with them. She just said, "You're done." I will not be back. read more

I came to classy nails to get my feet and nails done my feet look okay but nails are ugly I got French trip colored and you can see my whole real nail they are also wayy shorter then what I asked. And then I had my nails done before and they left little pieces of my old acrylic so you can see it through my nails. Two days ago my nail started lifting severely and I tried to put on my shoes and the nail popped off so the rest of them came off because they all just fell off or broke off. Where do I start?! First, I asked for acrylics, and I definitely did not get them. I got dip nail polish instead. Second, I asked for a beautiful sparkling white color and ended up with bright yellow instead?? Tell me how that works. And to top it all off, this woman was using the grinding tool and nicked my wedding ring!!! I have been married for less than 3 months so my ring still looks brand new. I don't write reviews very often, but felt compelled to write this review after the horrible experience I had at Classy Nails. My brother was getting married this past weekend and the bride made appointments for the bridal party + family to get nails/toes done. I came towards the end, when most of the other girls had finished and were drying. I had a gel manicure on that needed to be removed, and then I was asking for just a basic manicure for the weekend. The woman working on me (short hair, glasses, wore a mask) was rude and impatient. She barely filed the gel off of each of my fingers and then started wrapping them in foil but stopped when she still had 3 more fingers to go and helped one of the girls in my group pay. I sat there for 5 minutes without acetone on 3 of my fingers while she messed with the credit card machine. It would have taken her 30 seconds to just finish wrapping my nails in tin foil, and then she cold have helped someone pay. Instead, I had to eventually ask another worker to wrap my nails up. Then, after only 5 minutes of soaking, she took the fin toil off and started SCRAPING my nails. Not the gel polish, but my NAILS. After she scraped up two nails, she recognized they needed to soak longer and wrapped them back up. But what she didn't realize is that she needed to file the gel off of my nails more than what she had. After another 5 minutes she went back to SCRAPING my nails until I said "this is hurting and damaging my nails." At this point, she pulled out an electric tool to start filing and buffing the gel off of my nails. The end result was my nails are so coarse and have deep grooves in them from where she was scraping with her metal tool. Once she finally scrapped all of the gel off of my nails, she two maybe 30 seconds to file all 10 of my nails and then went to put the base coat on. She didn't buff my nails or try to get the grooves out. She didn't let me wash my hands. She didn't put any lotion or nail oil on my hands, or give my hands a massage as literally every nail salon I've ever been to does. Instead, she just went straight to the base coat. I asked if I could go wash my hands and get the bits of nail and nail dust off of my hands and she said NO. Before she put the paint on, she left to go help someone else get ready for a pedicure. She then came back and I asked her if she could fix my thumb as it was jagged and uneven and she looked exasperated. I had barely said anything to her and she was SO rude to me. She put the color on and then used the top coat I brought, but didn't bother to clean up the edges of my nail beds and skin where she had gotten polish. I asked her to clean up my nails so they didn't look like a 3rd grader did them, and she again was very rude and acted as though I was asking for a whole new manicure. The end result was my manicure looking like shit because the grooves she made in my nails were so deep you could see them through the polish and topcoat. This was by far the worse "manicure" I've ever gotten before, and my nails are totally ruined. All weekend I couldn't stop looking at my nails they looked SO bad and unhealthy (and I'm very proud of my nails). I finally took the polish off last night and I'm so sad at the damage that she caused. I hate writing bad reviews, but this was truly such a horrible experience and horrible service I felt bad NOT writing one to warn everyone DO NOT GO HERE. At least don't go here to get your gel manicure removed. The service I got from the woman with the mask was horrible, and she damaged the nails I worked very hard to grow out. The damage is so bad I'm rescheduling my engagement photos so my nails can recover before I take photos of my ring. Total waste of money and regretting ever going here. read more

This is the worst service I have ever experienced. After waiting for an hour the nail tech was rude and disrespectful. I had previously read a complaint about this nail salon that I felt was harsh. She posted her horrible nails and awful pedicure and complained about how rude they were. Classy Nails in turn asked that she come back and if she were to let them know at the time of the service they would be more then happy to fix it to the best of their ability. Fair enough, I felt there response was professional and just. In my experience, while the nail tech was doing my nails I expressed concern which was met with an angry attitude and consist statement saying this is what I asked for. Well it's not and if it were, I was letting her know I wasn't happy before she finished. She then said "just let me finish, if you don't like, we will fix" (this was NOT said in a pleasant manner). Ok she's the "professional" maybe she's right. She then continues to state that this is what I said I wanted and it was not her fault, this is what I asked for, she was only doing as I asked, this is how I said I wanted it done etc. I said I'm not a nail tech when you asked me how I wanted it done I stated "I don't know, what do you think?" Meaning if it needs to be done a certain way to make them look nice then let me know so I can in turn instruct you how to do your job. I don't know how else to say it. Why is she asking me HOW to do this (I was getting my nails dipped). She began filing my nails all different lengths and she had cut some down shorter then what I was comfortable with. I was doing as they said they wanted by letting her know I wasn't happy. She then closes up all of her supplies and informed me the other girl would be doing my nails and I waited another 30 minutes for her to be available. I had someone waiting for me, I wasn't in a rush but over three hours for crappy over priced product served with a jackass attitude was a little more then I bargained for. There are so so so many nails salons in Cedar Rapids and the surrounding city's to suffer through this. My recommendation is to choose any other spot. read more

Called and they brought me back to get it redone, instead of a sorry I get looks and "you work hard, you must wash your hand many times"!!! Bad service. We went to classy nails after our old nails fell off and they were very rough with our nails. Nails started bleeding while they were working on them and when we were done they told us to sit down and let them dry for 10 minutes but before we were even out the door they were ruined. We decided to go back and ask if they could fix them and they did and we waited another 10 minutes and then as soon as we got out to the car and put our seatbelts on they were ruined again. Even the nails that weren't ruined had little bumps all over them like the nail polish was bad. DONT RECOMMEND. We paid $40 for these nails. read more

Decided to try classy nails for a pedicure, and my friend got a mani & pedi. We had to wait for quite a while for someone to do our pedis. At least they put us in chairs so our feet could soak. I watched other customers while we were sitting there & realized that you have to explicitly tell them what you want & what kind of polish you want. We just wanted regular polish, not gel, so we made sure to tell them numerous times, as I watched a customer get a bill she didn't expect since they did gel on her toes instead of regular polish. They also had different people do different phases of the manis /pedis. The guy who did the 'dirty work' did not paint our nails. This made things a little confusing, particularly with tipping if you give each person a certain amount as I'm used to doing. We were there for well over 2 hours. Not sure if they just felt busy & overwhelmed (not all chairs were full), or if that was normal for them. I'd go back in a pinch, but not if on a tight schedule. read more

I started going to this nail salon soon after they opened and they did a good job and things were clean, used new/clean tools, etc. I have had manicures and pedicures all summer/fall long without problems. Now, I went a week ago for gel nails, it cost me $40 + tip. In a week the polish had cracked vertically-allowing moisture in putting me at risk for a fungal infection. I went back, explained what was wrong and asked for the polish to be removed. Suddenly they were not so nice, did an incomplete job removing the polish and left my nails looking and feeling horrible-and charging me $10. I guess I just have to wait it out while my nails regrow. I don't want to cause trouble for them but this was an awful experience. No apology, no let us try to fix it for you.
