Honestly, if I was able to rate the store, it would be a zero star. The reason why I'm saying this is that when we went to the nail salon we spent about $200 not including tip and I chose not to tip because I did not like the services we were pressured into tipping the people there and which was fine or whatever I ended up paying for it but honestly for the nail quality of the nails it's degraded when I used to come here about year or two ago I used to be wonderful. They used to lay acrylic. It used to be beautiful right but now they just laid gel and then basically put a fake nail on top for like the fake nail effect or whatever so I would not recommend this place to anyone or any other other businesses, slay nails or bougie nails. Those are the nail places that are owned by the same business and I just think that it's not good. I think the vibe is not too much. After several bad sets from another shop, I was looking for a new shop to get me through my last few weeks of needing fancy nails* (not really fancy, just a dip to grow out broken nails so I can have em long for events). Nails on 42nd came in a list of recs from my hairstylist and her colleagues, so I was hoping for the best. I think I got a better set than at the last shop, but the experience was much less enjoyable. I always make an appointment in advance and ask when works for them, but they definitely didn't have the staff to accommodate the traffic that day. The woman was really rough on my hands and barely spoke to me. She was really chatty though when she started working on the nails of a woman who came in much later while she was still working on mine at the same time. It wasn't so awful that I'd never come back, especially because the nails I got were totally fine, but I'm still looking for somewhere better. read more

Absolutely horrible service and horrible staff attitude. I didn't feel welcomed, the person doing my nails didn't once talk to me or smile at me. She took the toe separator and put it back in the drawer to be reused. This is so unhygienic. I'm giving this place two star for a few reasons first of all I asked for coffin shape. The nail tech cut my nails wayyyyy shorter than what I asked for and the shape is more square not coffin really at all. I come from out of town and the work here is very mediocre supposedly this place is supposed to be so great but the work is not! Soooo rushed, As seen in picture attached my nails are not even straight, I was told I'm way too picky when politely asking her to straighten them out. They are very thick and look hideous, I'm truly disappointed in the poor quality work I received. I also got a pedicure, the $45 one. She rushed through it filed each foot for about 2 seconds merely swiping over my feet. Applying scrub as fast as she could for about 10 seconds per leg, lotion for about 30 seconds each leg, The parafin was so rushed it was still runny and liquid when she took it off my feet, the entire pedicure was maybe 20/25 mins. So unacceptable. I get pedicures for maintenance and pampering. When I asked to please take care of my ingrown toenail my tech got a attitude started talking about me to her coworker. Crazy what you find out is being said when using a translating app...... same goes for my nails when requesting them to my liking. I got angry responses and once again was talked about and insulted me, funny thing is they had no idea I had translating app on. I'm confused on why I can't have things the way I prefer them. I am paying for this service they are about rushing and making money than the experience which is sad. It is decorated so nice and seems like a should be great spot. Rushed and mediocre work. Don't waste your money. I've gone to the cheap places around town and received better service and quality work. After letting my toes dry in the sandals they put on you for 3 hours, I decided to put my socks on and my polish had still not set. Stick to my socks after well over 3 hours really?!!! The lady was too busy rushing my pedi she forgot to use remover on my nail bed after the lotion which if not removed off nails will never let your nails harden and Dry. I had an appointment at 4 o'clock, and did not get in until 4:40 PM. My pedicure what is OK, but the manicure left a lot to be desired. She did a very rush job and the nail dip's only lasted one and a half weeks and didn't do cuticles at all. read more

I had a manicure and pedicure, so did my daughter. We both agreed we will not go back, why?! Here is the list: I paid $200.00 for: botched pedicures, (mine the nails cut way too short and oddly shaped, and my daughter left after 2 hours with wet nails!), a dirty look while dealing with my toe with a damaged nail, watched while two men openly mocked and inappropriately m gestured behind my daughter's back in front of customers and staff because she did not see where the sink was right away, the guy doing my daughters nails got angry when she asked a question, I mean really put her down and he would not listen to her and shaped her nails wrong, (she went the next day somewhere else and they thankfully could reshape them and that same guy KEPT TAKING OFF HIS FACE MASK two feet away from us, and finally, he kept answering the phone, because he spoke and understood English perfectly (so no excuse not to listen to my daughter's repeated request), which added at least an hour to our stay; our scheduled appointments were at 11:30 but we left at 2:45!! Our nails FINALLY looked OK but will never go back for all reasons mentioned. I do not spend money to be but at risk, reacted at, not listened to, and having to deal with botched toe nails. I came in had a Set of Nails put on $64 Three days later three nails came off went back in to have them replaced they charged me $38 to have them fixed that's $102 to have my nails done. So I thought I would give them another try one in had another whole set put on $64 in four days I had six nails lifting around the edges I went back in and the tech glued the edges around these nails down around the nail beds she ran her grinder around them and told me they were fine and sent me out the door after me telling her that they looked awful she said they were fixed. So I had to go somewhere else to have them fixed. I would not advise anyone to go there. absolutely awful absolutely unprofessional. Once they get your money they don't care if you have a problem and they do a crappy job. I will not tell anyone to go there. read more

My favorite place to go. They went above and beyond tonight. I called at 7:10 asking if I could get in for a dip and a pedicure not knowing that their hours change to closing at 7 PM in the winter. They asked if I could come in the next morning however I told them I was leaving for Florida the next morning. Phillip told me to come right over (I was 5 minutes away). After "salon hopping" for many years I finally decided to try this place and loved it. They do some really great nails and are very nice! However, if you decide to try it out be prepared to wait awhile if you go during a busy time. I have gone to this place 3-4 times and the most I've had to wait was about 40 minutes. It's very hit or miss, sometimes you will get right in, others you will have to wait awhile. The owner is very good at handling business and will put your name in and tell you to come back at a given time instead of sitting there waiting. This place does a GREAT job despite the varying wait times, and if have the time, I recommend giving it a try! read more

As I Black woman, I was NOT WELCOMED there. They barely let me in the door before rejecting me and kept running me in circles about how to make an appointment. Yet the whole time they were turning me around, white people were being serviced. Then they gave me a brochure and told me I had to call the number on the front to make an appointment with the owner, citing that because of Covid, only the owner makes appointments but the number that was on that brochure was to the actual shop, not the owner. I rang the phone standing in there while they ignored the ringing and they still told me it was the only number I could call and it was the boss's number. They kept lying to my face. It's ridiculous. The manager...Phillip I think, is super rude. Not just to me but to people walking in and that call on the phone. I have made an appt. every time I have been there and have always at least 30 minutes to get started. Then I usually get Phillip who is constantly leaving to help a walk in or answering the phone so it takes twice as long and he's not very good at nails anyway. I have seen several of their techs do a very nice job so I know that some people leave very happy but be sure you have an appt. and hopefully you won't get Phillip. I started by calling ahead two days prior to coming in and making an appointment. I have been sitting here for 30 mins without anyone getting started on my nails. As I came in, right when I walked through the door, one of the nail technicians was very rude when "greeting me". The same technician called a customer out in front of the entire nail salon asking "do you want all of us to stop our whole operation just to help you?" when all she had said was she needed one nail fixed. TERRIBLE experience! Brides do not schedule with this place if you want a relaxing experience. We had manicure/ pedicure appointments scheduled for 2pm for 9 people. When scheduling the appointment we explained we would need to be done by 4pm to make it to rehearsal. The last of the bridal party was not done until 4:30. The management does not know how to effectively plan for these types of occasions. The manicures and pedicures were rushed, not relaxing. All they worried about was getting us in and out. Some of the wedding party did not even get the full service they originally requested because there would not be enough time. When approaching the 'manager' about our timeframe at 3pm.
