Ombré American manicure with dipping powder.
    Naomi S.

I travel for work and need to find a nail salon wherever I go so I look to yelp. This shop was the highest rated on yelp. I like to do dipping powder. I showed them a picture of an ombré American manicure that I had once and they recreated pretty well. Only issue was wait time. I had a 1:30 appointment and I walked out at 2:50pm. One thing I loved is that they did not use the drill to take off my current dip powder. I hate that because my nails are weak already and that is why I do dip. They do use the drill to do a quick buff. That means my nails sat in acetone for about 30 minutes and I'm ok with that. I'd still go back for sure.

    What I wanted

I went in an hour before close and they still did an amazing job, didn't rush and took time on my nails. The workers are so nice!! I love my nails and Love this place! I will definitely be going back.

French style nail dip to help your nails grow! Feels amazing and so much different than acrylic!

Knowledgeable and very clean salon. Helpful people. They do both gel and dip so whatever design you would like is available.

One of the best pedicures around. I make a special point to get one when I'm in the area. Definitely recommend!

They say they open at 10 but they are extremely late. Not happy waiting outside in the cold for more than 20 minutes.

Upon entering they were quick to greet me and give me a time frame for the wait. After my short wait, they ushered me to the pedicure bowls. The nail tech gives me binders of colors to choose from. I looked through them while they prepped. I pointed to which pedicure I wanted and which color, specifically stating I ONLY want the tips done like a French just a different color. They asked me if I wanted gel or regular. I said gel, and they got the menu out and pointed that it would be an additional $20. I told them that was fine. They said ok and took the little binders. I tried to chat throughout the pedicure but they were less than interested, or just didn't understand me due to a language barrier. The pedicure itself was fabulous. The massage, great. I was able to relax for a few minutes and closed my eyes for a bit. I opened my eyes and looked down, 4 toes in, and they painted the whole toenails. I didn't want to stop them since they were half done. A nice woman sat next to me and made a comment about the color I chose, which further made me anxious about the way they were painted. I guess I'll keep these toes covered until I can find somewhere else. I'd go back if the nail techs understood my first language, just so we could be clear on what I wanted since it wasn't a very hard ask. This would have been a 5 star rating had the toes been polished the way I asked; other than that, it was good.

I don't know if he was speeding, but Manh didn't shape my nails as well as I thought and my polish is kinda flooded and bubbled. I couldn't tell inside, but they're filed low enough that I'll just have to wait to fix them. It was still easier than removing the acrylics at home. ---- I only get my nails professionally done for special occasions, so I don't have a regular and I'm always nervous about trying a new place. I walked in around 3:15 on a Tuesday for a set of acrylics and within moments, Thu was working on my nails. While I'd have liked a little attention to my natural nails before the acrylics, I'm really pleased with how they turned out. In the past, fake nails have been too thick and heavy or oddly shaped, but Thu did a wonderful job. The length is exactly perfect and the shape is consistent and flattering. I believe it was something like $27 before a tip - very affordable! I also appreciate being able to bring my own polish. I'm already looking forward to my next visit!

I have also not been a very good owner of my hair with use of box dyes and (I can't believe I'm publicly admitting this) SunIn (yes, even as recently as the summer of 2020...I'm almost 40 here people...). Carrie was highly recommended to me from several friends and co-workers in and around the area. As long as I'm going all out in admitting my self inflicted hair disasters publicly to the world, I also suffer from chronic anxiety. One of my anxiety "tics" is picking. 90% of this picking tic occurs on my scalp. So now I'm also adding to more hair distress with my medical condition as well as my self destructive hair behavior. I'm really a fun person, I promise. Since the first moment that I sat down in Carrie's chair, she never made me feel embarrassed or self conscious about my hair, my scalp or even how I viewed myself in her mirror after getting my hair washed and comparing myself to Golam from Lord of the Rings. Since going to Carrie, my hair AND scalp have become intensely healthier and happier (minus my SunIn self disaster, which is important to know for this review.) Carrie recommended the best type of professional hair care products for my hair type, my scalp type and what to avoid. She has become so close to my hair that she can tell when I have had a lot of anxiety in my life just by my scalp. I have even begun to openly start a conversation with "HEY!! No anxiety for the last six weeks! Look at my scalp!" or "girl, watch out for the area around 10:48 and 4:23 on my head...let me tell you whats going on..." How AMAZING is it to have a hairstylist that HELPS you physically and mentally?! The SunIn fiasco...you guys remember that stuff from the early 90's? Well, I apparently remembered it and thought it was a good idea. Using this for a full day in the sun was not a good idea, nor did it bring the Sun In to my hair. In fact, this product fried the every loving crap out of my hair so badly I had to lose several inches of length to reach the healthier potions. Carrie knew that this would cause me to become anxious and prior to the inches coming off, we sat and talked about why it needed to be done and the process of getting my hair back to the healthy state that it was pre-self demise. What I'd like you take from my review are several things. I have openly admitted, publicly, for strangers to read for years to come about my chronic anxiety and the tic it comes with. This is embarrassing for me but I really want others who are coming here to read a review and make a decision about being styled be Carrie to know that she is naturally comforting, sincere and genuine. She has helped me get my hair back to the length I love, with hair that is so healthy and beautiful that I FEEL beautiful. I love the atmosphere of her salon, it isn't overpowering but rather comforting. The stylists who rent her chairs are amazing people as well. Listening to them talk to their clients, you can tell that they have been with them for years. If you don't want a stylist who cares about the health of your hair AND you, then don't go to Carrie because that is exactly who you're going to get. **the picture is the first cut post SunIn, loss of 3/4 inches and you can tell I feel AMAZING!!! All because of Carrie!**
