I brought my friend here who recently moved to Marion. As soon as we entered, we both detected the coldness from the personnel that worked there. Ordering us around wasn't a pleasant experience. I sat on a chair that was close to the front door. After 10 minutes, I was told that I couldn't sit there and was ordered to move. I chose to stand outside and waited in the hot sun until my friend was done. While outside, I noticed 6 bird nests of sparrows in the Sophia Nail & Spa sign above the front door. What a mess!! I always come to Sophia for acrylics and this time I decided to try a design. The staff did not disappoint and I left very impressed by their skills. I went in to have my acrylics removed. Assumed it would be a soak off, but had them removed with nail clippers and a fake nail. It was not the most comfortable experience and it destroyed my nail bed. read more

The salon is one to go to if you are looking to get a quick manicure or pedicure. Some nail techs are better than others when I was last in I was cut and had bled due to to getting cut. The polish was not welly done and was a mess when I was done as well as she design not my go to place and I stopped going. Honestly the service here was fine UNTIL I wanted to have my acrylic nails removed. I thought I would do the right thing by having the salon who put them on remove them but boy was I wrong. The nail tech never soaked or filed the acrylics...RATHER SHE POPPED THEM OFF, TEARING AND RIPPING MY NAILS! She even drew blood!! But the bad service didn't end there. A week later I realized how thin the remaining nail was and knew it needed some help strength wise so I went back with my fiancé (he got a pedicure)and got a gel manicure. Problem was the gel never completely dried between layers and when bubbles popped a day later they were still wet. When I went in to get them redone 2 days later, the nail tech denied she did my gel set let alone even knew who I was. It wasn't until I reminded her about my fiancé getting a pedicure that she finally remembered me. Needless to say the second attempt at the gel manicure never set correctly again and I haven't been back since. This was over 2 years ago and I still feel sick when I see videos of people popping acrylic nails off. read more

Not happy at all!!! Horrible job on my toes!! They didn't even take the time to file them, or do what you normally get when you have a pedicure. Put some lotion on my legs and pretty much that was it . I wanted to design on my big toe, went with a decal instead because I was afraid of what it would look like. I like that this nail salon is in Marion and at a great location. I usually am pretty impressed with my experience and feel like this salon was clean and the tools were sanitary... however my last visit on Friday I noticed during my pedicure that the technician just put his tools quickly in the spa water to clean them.... not what I wanted to see. Being a nurse I know how easily infections can occur - one wrong nick with the clipper could lead to cellulitis or a fungal infection. Pleas look into cleaning the tools more thoroughly as places that do that will definitely be the spot everyone wants to go. read more

My first experience here was less than great, with nails that didnt turn out the way I had hoped and a nail tech that came off rude, but I went in to have them fixed and that experience completely changed my mind! They took me in without an appointment and happily redid my nails, free of charge! The same tech did it and she was cheery and very happy to correct the issue, and now my nails look and feel wonderful! I will definitely be back & recommend this place to others! read more

I really liked this place; I've been there three times and every time I am satisfied with my nails. The quality is amazing and normally my dip nails start to peel from my nail after about two weeks, but this place, It lasts till I go in again (3 to 4 wks). I am only rating it three stars, because my issue is that they use an LED lamp which I have never had the LED lamp used for dip nails since it's not needed. That was a little surprising which is one of the biggest reasons I prefer dip over shellac because its suppose to be safer for your hands due to no LED/UV involved. My other issue about this place is that I have gone three times and every time I went, It got $5 more expensive. My first time I paid $50, the second time $55 and this last time I paid $60! I get the same thing each time, so I'm a little confused by this, so because of that, I defiantly don't think I'll be back. read more

My sister and I waited over an hour for only her to get a mediocre manicure, after an hour and a half of waiting, I declined to get mine done because they were techically closed anyway, and I dont have time for them to do my nails at this point. 4 people in line left before us, and the employees didn't seem to care that we waited or that we were even there in the first place. Would have rated zero, but would not allow. They don't even deserve a 1 star. Have not been to this salon for two years because the last time I was here they are rude to customers. Decide I needed a pedi today and I tell you about quick it was lighting speed. Removal of old polish, trim of nails (which I asked for short and square, not what I received) partial trim of cuticles (still have hang nails), quick scrub of heels (still rough as heck) lotion rub of legs and top of feet, then polish. No massage on arches for bottom of feet. I asked the tech if they no longer trim side of nail. She said she did. I watch the whole time and she did not. Then they start talking to each other in their language. I guess they don't realize that we know when that happens they are talking about the client in their chair. How professional. They are not appreciative of their customers, they walk out without a single employee thanking them for their business Never again will I give this business any of my hard earned money. read more

I used to really enjoy going here when they first opened, but now I will NEVER go back. My mom and I went in and got pedicures and we both experienced terrible customer service. Immediately, they were rude and I wish we would have walked out immediately. They sat there and talked in their language (which makes it obvious they are talking crap behind our backs). Then, one of them sat there and complained about my mom to me, when she was well-aware of the fact that I'm her daughter! Why on earth would I spend so much money somewhere I feel uncomfortable at? I had a terrible experience today getting my nails dipped at Sophia Salon in Marion! I have been there in the past and the experience was just ok, but today it went from ok to terrible!!! My nails looked like a child did them. The girl kept missing spots including the tip of my thumb so she kept dipping it which resulted in two tone color. The other nails are ridged by the cuticles. I asked the girl to trim my cuticles to give it a better cleaner look and said they don't do cuticles...what? Really? Ok, whatever. So I paid her and told her that I'm not happy with my nails and that I would like someone else to fix them but that I would have to come back another day. She got her manager and her manager said they can fix the thumb but that the others were fine. I told her that I have had them dipped before elsewhere and they looked really nice afterwards and that I wanted mine redone. Again she refused, so I finally told her to forget it and left. I did tell her that I am not at all happy. Seriously, they rather chance a bad review and negative word of mouth then to just redo my nails? Bad business on their end for sure. Plus they charged way more than Merry nails in Collins rd. Merry nails does really good work. I'm really picky too. The reason I didn't go to Merry nails was because they were closed. Now I know they are worth the wait. Just a big mess! Now because they wouldn't fix them I have to go spend another $40 elsewhere. read more

I've gone to many other nail techs in the area and this is the first place that got it completely right. The shape and the length is perfect. I would not even give this place one star. Last Sunday my sister mom and I went there to get pedicures. Salon was nice and clean but the employees seemed more interested in joking around and intentionally tickling my mom's feet than doing their job. Pedicures are for relaxation and most off all soft feet and beautiful nails when you r finished. Not so much. My feet were still rough and by Tuesday half my polish had peeled off. I went online to check the business hours today and noticed some of these negative reviews & felt I needed to set the record straight. I have been going to this nail salon since it opened and I have had nothing but good experiences. I feel like the negatives may be coming from the competition who have possibly felt the burn since this place opened. I get a pedicure and a gel manicure approximately every 2 weeks (until I leave for the winter). It lasts the entire 2 weeks! Of course I don't pick at it like some people. Sometimes I wait 3 weeks to get another pedicure and the polish still looks fine. When I have gotten regular manicures in the past, of course polish starts to show some wear a few days later- especially if I am doing a lot of work or putting hands in water, etc. - regular polish does this no matter where you go. For my gel manicures, I go to Mary or Chi and they are excellent for nails. Pedicures are reasonably priced and as good as anywhere else, but it's not high-end salon level for $20-$25 for gods sake. It is a very clean salon with courteous personnel & complimentary beverages. You can make appointments or walk-in during the week. No appointments are taken on the weekends, just walk-ins. LOVE having a decent, clean nail place located in Marion. The products don't seem to be cheap & there is no strong odor at all in there. read more

I have been going to this salon since it opened, while I have been happy with the service and the pricing, I will NEVER support this place of business again. I sent my 14 year old daughter and her friend in for a pedicure and a male employee who did my daughter pedicure asked her age, she told him 14. He said he was in his late twenties. He then proceeded to comment on her appearance, tried to flatter and compliment her through the pedicure and asked for her phone number at the end. I am disgusted that I paid to have my daughter and her friend be made to feel completely uncomfortable and preyed on by this man. read more
