Update:
So the owner replied to my feedback. These are my comments in return:
1. The owner claims I was not happy with the price and did not want to sign the waiver: If I was not happy with the price, why did I agree to proceed with the treatment? It's just fairly basic to ask questions before one agrees to a particular service and this includes discussing the details of the waiver. Also, in retrospect, I believe that that waiver is only to her advantage and she can then be unprofessional with her service and be sloppy about it which was exactly what happened in my case.
2. The owner said they have great reviews: If one reads the reviews, these are mostly for hair cuts and mostly for men. So they maybe good in hair cuts but for delicate and complicated treatments like permanent hair straightening that I had, they are terrible and should be avoided at all cost. I suggest checking Google reviews as well as there's a few negative reviews on there for your reference.
3. The owner said that I have an attitude because I asked about the pricing and the waiver: Please go back to point 1. If asking means an attitude then she only expects to have stupid customers. Besides it is her job to explain carefully the process and all the details in that waiver if she acts in good faith at all.
4. The owner said I was not upset after all because I gave them tip: It's my standard practice to give tip to anyone. This also contradicts her comment that I was not happy about the pricing. If the price was an issue, then I should not have given a tip nor agree to proceed with the treatment.
5. The owner said I ignored them when they tried speaking to me: She did not mention that we chatted about a lot of things though. I think this particular situation was with her assistant Kimmy. As I had said in my original review, Kimmy took over when Tina was busy joggling too many things on that particular day. She did not even tell me that Kimmy will take over for a while and continue the process but rather Kimmy just started pulling my hair roughly and using the hot iron with a different tension. If they were professional, they should have not asked me to come on that day if she knew she would be very busy hence will not be able to give 100% attention to a customer.
6. The owner claims she did not over process my hair: Is having wired and bunched up hair not enough proof that she over processed my hair? How absurd.
7. The owner claims that I put the hair behind the ears. How can I put the top of my hair behind my ears? Ridiculous excuse.
8. The owner said I put too much product on my hair: Again this is absurd. The day I showed her my wired hair was the day I washed it since she treated it, that was three days after I saw her. So how can I put too much product when that was only three days after the treatment? And the fact that I wanted her to show how it looked like after washing it and how it's gonna look like everyday to me.
9. The owner commented that I refused to have my hair washed: Please see my original review where I had explained my reasoning why I did not want to go that process. She wanted to wash and "STYLE" it. So by STYLING it means covering the problem so it appears that it's okay. Is she fooling me?
10. The owner claims that I acted disruptive: She started to raise her voice when I asked her the hypothetical question why washing my hair will solve my wired hair as clearly I just washed my hair that morning and that's the raw state of my hair. She didn't have any other solution other than washing and STYLING (a.ka. covering up). And how can I trust her again after the bad service she gave me? Who, in their normal state of mind, would? And instead of being professional about it and and offering other remedies, she said she was done with me. That comment actually threw me off. I did not expect to hear that, more especially from the owner herself, at all. Very very unprofessional.
I did not even demand for a refund as I was looking for a solution. So if the price was the issue again, as she pointed out in her comment, I would have immediately demanded for a refund, but no I did not. I was expecting something like a few protein treatments that will make my hair healthy again or anything that will show that she genuinely cares for her customer and build up the trust back again but she did not have any other solution other than saying "I'm done with you". Is that making a customer happy?
This will be my final comment on this issue. After two months, my hair is still problematic. I totally regret that I had gone to this salon but that's my fault and I learned a lesson. As for this salon, they need to improve BIG TIME, in all business aspects, or maybe just focus on hair cutting. Other than that, go some place else and save yourselves troubles.
