    Clocks, natch.

Today I took my second vintage Syroco clock to our local antique clock dealer repair shop. Unfortunately though I have the original key to the clock, which is rare, its tick tock sound was like a real life Tell-Tale Heart in my living room (however apropos for the spooky season, not cool for the nerves). It also no longer lasted for 8 days as advertised on the clock, as it is most likely 70+ years old. Anyhoo, the owner is just a delight to talk to and it's simply fascinating to stroll through his inventory - it's more like a museum than a store really. It's my kind of place, chock full of stuff with a story. If you want / need a vintage clock, or a clock fixed, go see this guy at Classical Clocks and Antiques near Trader Joe's. 10 out of 10 s, would recommend. #localbusiness #shoplocal #LivermoreCA

This store is a gem! I purchased a Howard Miller Grandfather clock and a small, darling coo-coo clock from the 1930s (it came in its original box). Both items were priced competitively, are great quality and bring me a lot of joy. The shop owner, Nile, is an expert, very kind and seems to run the large shop on his own. He delivered my Grandfather clock speedily with no hiccups. I definitely recommend this shop to any clock and antique lovers. We are lucky to have such a rare find.

The clock Nile's removed from my house and did not give back!

After my Mom's death, I asked him to appraise 2 rings. After a couple of days, he handed me a very professional appraisal, beautifully cleaned and polished rings, and added his advice about making copies (for insurance purposes, etc.) I was so impressed with his knowledge and honesty, I have asked him to assess Mom's entire estate. Along the way, I have learned a lot from him and enjoy his company, his expertise and the value he brings to help me. Scott repaired a pair of wanted earrings making them wearable again with his lacquer painting skills using his myriad of working materials and tools hidden behind the curtain. He turned a single earing into a beautiful pendant, giving me some history about the stone itself. I highly recommend Pleasanton Jewelers. Be sure to ring the bell!

It seemed excessive but I said ok. He took out the pin that held band together and said "This is what happens when you try to change your own battery, why would you change your own battery?" In an insulting and arrogant voice. I explained that I took to Cousins, where I'd been going for 30 years. He tried it for 10 seconds, said he couldn't fix it. He handed me back the watch, without the pin, band still unattached and said nope. It was a cheap watch for 5 years service at HPE, so I just dumped it in the trash and left. The guy has no customer skills, doesn't know squat about fixing watches and was a complete dick! Do not go to this dump!
