I went in for a haircut and color treatment, but after expressing my issues and wants, she suggested other, less costly measures. I was, and still am, more than grateful that she helped me figure out next steps that were right for me as opposed to my original plan, which would have further escalated some problematic issues (i.e, dry, frizzy hair). The atmosphere is cozy and clean. Joy is extremely friendly, and made the appointment fly by! I've only gone once, but I already know I'm going to be a very, very loyal client. In addition to all the good that Joy does, her prices are outstanding and more than fair. Nowadays, haircuts cost an arm and a leg, yet at Harmonies, the cost was $30-60 less than other places in the area (and outside of the area!). Yet the quality of service is unparalleled; I am extremely happy that she heard what I wanted, and delivered :). I also purchased some products from her, which, again, was surprisingly inexpensive. I also was the one to ask for products, as opposed to them being aggressively suggested--this is something I usually encounter at other salons. If you're looking for your new favorite salon, look no further!

The color correction strategy was exactly correct. I now am back to a very dimensional ash blonde with highlights and lowlights and NO orangey tone. Asked for highlights and a dramatic shift lighter. Left with nearly same color as before (my daughter did not even notice a change when I picked her up). Went with a picture and we fully discussed beforehand. 3. One stylist who was helping iron for the Brazilian blowout was pulling so hard I could feel hairs breaking as he was working. There are so many broken hairs sticking straight up now I look like I got electrocuted. 4. Asked for some face framing pieces and they are so choppy and unblended. 5. With my requests at time of booking (cut, highlights, and a smoothing treatment), I would have hoped to be scheduled with someone with a bit more experience. To her credit, owner offered to fix color in a couple weeks but so much went wrong this first trip I thanked her and told her we are not a good fit. Would not recommend for cut, highlights or smoothing treatments. UPDATE: a few hours later I noticed dye/toner was left on my ear. Picture is after I had already wiped some off. UPDATE 2: For $800, I am glad I gave the salon a learning experience. SMH.

It's really a special treat to see beautiful arts hanging on the wall of a local Bamboo Hair + Body. The location is convenient, right off Main Street of down town Half Moon Bay. I love the vibrant colors of her paintings. My photos do not reflect how unbelievable her creativity and her color work of her arts. I highly recommend to come and see her paintings with your own eyes. I appreciate her nature capture in still arts. I feel happy and inspired looking at her beautiful bright colorful paintings.
