It's really a special treat to see beautiful arts hanging on the wall of a local Bamboo Hair + Body. The location is convenient, right off Main Street of down town Half Moon Bay. I love the vibrant colors of her paintings. My photos do not reflect how unbelievable her creativity and her color work of her arts. Her creation is unique, special and rare! Her arts, especially those with the hummingbirds inspire me to love, to hope, and to be happy and creative. Her acrylic paintings on canvas, and Fence Chunks from recycled wood, which hang on walls, fences, gates and decks are marvelous! I tried out some others and was not entirely impressed with the results, and I had even attempted to cut my own layers. I finally made an appointment with Whitney and I have been so pleased by her work! She always gives me a great haircut that is so flattering and even grows out beautifully, which is a trait I find invaluable in a stylist. My husband has even remarked how good it looks even as it was growing out! Her prices are reasonable, her studio is conveniently located and easy to find, it's kept clean and is decorated nicely. She shares it with two other girls, who are also really nice and talented, although she often has the studio to herself when I go. She is friendly and personable, and plays light music during the haircut. She also does an incredible scalp massage during the shampoo which I ADORE. It just makes the experience feel more relaxing and luxurious. Additionally, the shampoos and products she uses smell amazing and make my hair feel soft and silky. She offers great advice for products, styling, and makeup. Overall, Whitney is great at what she does and after my first visit to her she has been the only stylist I've seen since!

But we would never get to the mani/pedi, we wouldn't even get to the end of the haircut. While Tiffany was cutting my hair I noticed she had cut a layer on one side of my hair about 2 fingers shorter than the other. I simply asked if she could even it out. She became immediately incensed. She thrust the scissors towards me and told me to cut it myself. I have never been treated so brashly it was shocking. I am NOT a rude person and have worked in the service industry myself and I can definitely appreciate that the public can be difficult so I strive to treat service workers with respect. I thought maybe she was having a bad day and gave her the benefit of the doubt but my attempts to placate her were ignored and she curtly informed me she never wanted to cut my hair again. All this I could understand if I yelled at her or treated her unkindly but the way she snapped so suddenly was alarming. I paid for the unfinished cut and even tipped generously to try to end the interaction with some feelings of good will but I'll never return.
