Donald Gregoire of "Don's Classic Hair Designs" - if i could give six stars, I would. I called Don on a Friday to see if he could see me on Saturday, and he was gracious enough to let me come in at 5 PM that same day even though from what I could see when I got there, he was clearly booked to capacity and very busy. The salon itself is slightly hidden in a Plaza on Portland Road where you wouldn't know it was there apart from the signage, (directly across the street from the Dunkin Donuts). There is plenty of parking and when you arrive, enter on either side of the plaza building then head downstairs. The salon is a classic hair salon with a touch of chic design, their plush leather couch in the waiting room was comfortable and fitted with ample reading materials with the latest magazines. There are three work stations as Don has two amazing ladies who work with him. Three shampoo stations, great lighting, air conditioning and it's clean! Don was welcoming, attentive, and 100% interested in what I wanted, needed and had to say. From what I have heard Don is known for his charismatic personality and his humor - I wasn't disappointed at all. When you meet him you will immediately be interested in his funny sense of humor and his captivating conversation. I had gone to Don for a long layered cut and style. As Don did my hair he clearly explained to me what he envisioned along with what I was asking for and made me feel relaxed and at ease. As he was finishing the style he explained to me how to properly do this on my own when in the days to come, how to curl my hair a certain way, when to add the moose, when to add the shine agent, and when to hairspray. Overall the experience was excellent and I will be seeing Don again in 6 weeks. Note, he prefers appointments to be made at lease 2 weeks in advance, but as you can see in the beginning of my review, he will make exceptions. Don's a top-notch multi-tasker and if you need to have your hair done, and he's booked, you can rest assured he will do anything he can to get you in if he can. My haircut (including a shampoo, cut, straight iron, and blow dry) cost me $40 and that was with a 20% tip! I have found my new hair stylist! Thank you Don! read more
