On May 15, 2015, I brought my vehicle to Performance One for an oil change. The oil change was done incorrectly, which required the car to be towed to the dealership to correct. The dealership diagnosed the vehicle and determined that the issue was caused by over filling engine oil. They also found engine oil on the engine air filter housing, MAF sensor, throttle body, cylinder heads and exhaust. The dealership did not find any pre-existing damage to the vehicle, I paid for the dealership diagnostic examination, repair service and clean up out of my pocket. Performance One denied any wrongdoing, and refused to reimburse me for the monies paid to correct their damage. I had to file a complaint to BC Small Claims Court, wherein the court ruled against Performance One, awarding me with the repair invoice amount, search fees and court fees. The judge also noted that AWG Performance One has wasted my time, their time, and the court time. Making a mistake is one thing, but when a mistake is made by a business, one would expect they would own up to it and not need customers to take them to Court. So, here's the story. I know a little but not a lot about cars. I do know when you hear a bad noise, something is wrong. Not withstanding the "comments" from various male friends, I knew the clutch on my 10 year old Nissan Sentra needed to be done. I've had my fair share of distrust over the years of mechanics and repair shops. Most of them seemed like rip off artists to me...speaking down to me as if they were trying to impart knowledge that was way over my head. It always felt like they really just wanted my money. Enter Performance One: I've been coming to Performance One for the last year and a bit for oil changes and such minor things. In that time, I've had some good conversations with the manager, service advisor and both mechanics. Even for a simple oil change, if I had questions, they gave me answers. That makes me feel good. So earlier this week when I went in for my regular oil change and the mechanic said "Your clutch has to be done right away. I'm not kidding. Don't put this off any longer or the transmission could be damaged and then you're really in trouble." It was a no-brainer to get them to do it. I'm not going to kid you, a clutch job is expensive. And I admit, out of curiosity, I called around anyway to get some other quotes...and friends shared their stories of how much they paid over the years for the same kind of work. I found the quote from Performance One to be very reasonable (the quote from my Nissan dealership was outrageous!) The service manager gave me some options to choose from and explained the pro and cons of those options. The mechanic popped his head in and gave his two cents as well. Again, giving me the information helped me feel that I am part of the process and I know what's going on. I took my car in first thing Friday morning and it was done late that afternoon...spending the day in their upstairs lounge as the work went on. AND HOLY CRAP. The clutch they put in is FRICKEN AWESOME. I am so happy! I'm not fighting to get it into 2nd or reverse anymore. First of all, I try to bring my car to a garage only when I can't do the work myself. Performance One let me bring my own parts and installed them for me. Excellent experience overall. I made an appointment and when I arrived they immediately started work on my car. There is a waiting area above the garage where you can watch them work. And I tell you the guy was fast! But not only that I watched as he did everything and checked and double checked things. Took the car out for a drive and came back for adjustments. Very happy with the work done. Yes, they will charge you more if you bring your own parts but despite this I still saved about $600 over getting the work done at the dealer. Further to the work itself the place is clean! Don't ever go here, you would regret one day I promise. Like the other guy Eric Hung said, think it again before you bring your beloved car to here. I have to say their follow ups are great, that's why I brought my car to them. Also they are car enthusiasts especially BMW cars only. But when you wanna do car modifications and upgrades for not BMWs, just go Garage 5 I'd recommend because their advisors have much better service and knowledge base. I have to point out something seriously since I paid over $35,000 to them, and it is a lesson paid for with blood. And I'm not going back to do any further service with them from now on. Their boss Mike referred Louis as a specialist. Apparently on the contrary, that Louis is just a service adviser who is always pretending to know everything but tells you something else when you asking him a specific question. And mocks you when you are asking silly questions. Mike is also an arrogant person, and that's why they can work together. He shakes his head when I went back with my service engine light on. He was probably thinking what this stupid kid can know about cars. When your car has some problem after MOD, they would simply blame your car already had this problem before they did any repair. Like Eric Hung mentioned they would prosecute you for the car has pre-existing damage. And when I mentioned about that case who wins at last to Louis, he just asked me back, do you think the judge would know everything about cars? But from my experience, it seems the judge must be right. From the day Aug. 13, 2016, I went to their shop first time. I was a car noob, and listen to whatever Louis says. I brought my 2012 infiniti G37x and wants to do a Stillen Supercharger kit upgrades. He mocks me during the conversations when I asked a few silly questions, but I wasn't angry however I doubted about his knowledge since he was not answering me some of the questions directly. However, I thought he speaks mandarin and they are the dealership from Stillen, so I said to myself just stick with them for now because I don't know anybody else can do a good follow up like they do. Then several things happened after that day, it proves me I was right about his knowledge and attitudes. 1st: He didn't even know my 18" rim OEM nuts won't fit to 20" HRE Flowform FF01 wheels. 2nd: I put $10,000 deposit to them on Aug. 13, 2016, and I want them to order the parts ASAP so I can have my car back before my birthday coming next month in September. Disregarding he made a writing mistake $1,000 on my receipt, neither he did order the parts until he went back to work on next Tuesday Aug. 16, 2016. And he promised me the car would definitely ready before my birthday, but he broke his promise in the end. A week later after Aug. 16, 2016. He told me the Eibach pro-kit lowering springs were out of stock, and they will get restock after 2 months. It would be ready like in October something. Then I was like okay, what about my Stillen Supercharger kit? He answered me, "Oh, we want to save you some shipping money, so we put it on hold. The SC kit and lower springs would ship out together." I was thinking that SC kit is from Stillen and lowering springs is out of stock, even you have gotta another dealer for Eibach springs from the other company, how can you let two companies ship out two stuff together? So that's where I'm beginning impatient and angry about they are cheating me. From what I see, that Louis was just forgot to order the parts until a week later after Aug. 16, 2016. That's where and why all of my parts got delayed for shipping, but he was afraid to tell me the truth and use that good out-of-stock excuse to calm me down. 3rd: After I gotta my car back a few days later, I couldn't start my car. ... 4th: ... 5th: ... So I've learned a lot from this experience. Never go Performance One! Think it again before you go! Business failures are always starting from your bad customer service. Great staff! Brought in my 2016 Mercedes Benz GLE63S AMG today as my brake light was on. They quickly diagnosed the vehicle to know what needed to be done and ordered a new pair of rear brake pads as well as new brake sensors. Finished the job the same day within an hour and a half without calling in for an appointment which is very convenient! Definitely a place to go to for high end vehicles. read more

I recently heard about this shop through the X5M bimmer forums while looking for some tuning options, I first contacted them asking about some options for my x5m and they were very knowledgeable about my suv and the response time through our emails was very quick. they recommended two different tunes and i decided on the active 8 tune through active autowerke witch i had purchased through performance one and had them do the install. The shop was very clean and all the staff was super friendly, I drove about 1.5 hours from abbotsford to get this tune installed and was very happy to see they had a nice lounge upstairs with fresh coffee and a birds eye view on my suv so i was able to watch the installation.
