After scanning the reviews of auto shops in the area, I decided to go with Mathewes Auto Repair. They took me in, dropped me off at my lodging, and took my car in to investigate the problem. After a few hours, I got the word that a fungus had grown on the filter leading from the washer fluid pump to the dispensing tubes. Talk about an unusual diagnosis! (I found out later that this is not uncommon for BMWs, requiring the addition of alcohol to the washer fluid to prevent this growth. So, it looks like I'm heading to the liquor store!) But, the guys at Mathewes solved this mystery and did a full inspection just in time for me to get on the road to Illinois! These guys are customer focused and experts, especially for European and imports. I'm glad I took my car to these guys!
