Had a new blouse dry cleaned ($8.00), came back with a hole in it . Showed it to the staff and they said they would have it repaired. 2 weeks later, I asked if it was ready, they said the owner, Tejas, wanted to speak to me. He denied damaging the blouse, " we do not damage clothing", he insisted I brought it in damaged, said he would try to repair it, but when I asked if it could not be repaired, than what would he do. With that, he became very angry, unprofessional, and said he would not even attempt to repair it. He told me just pick up the blouse as he never sent it out anyway. Badly damaged area rug, burn holes, melted thru fibres and pile on my polyester 6'x9' area rug. Went to their business undamaged, but returned to me unusable. Why they rolled and wrapped it as tho it was undamaged can only be to hide the damages until after they were paid. read more

They lost my clothes (over $400 worth!) when sent for alterations. 3 months later and my clothes still have not been returned to me. The owner never responded to my calls and messages. The most unprofessional and dishonest dry cleaner I have ever dealt with. Never again!!!! read more

This is a dishonest business. When I lived in Ulster County I used Green Cleaners. One day they ruined my favorite thick faux fur throw. Half of one side was totally mushed down and could not be brought back to its orginal fluffiness. The woman at the counter apologized and said that it was her fault because she folded it too soon. She took it and tried to redo it to no avail. I called the owner to get some recompense but he would not call me back. I left vowing to never go back. Then I moved across the river and found Classic Cleaners, owned by very honest and diligent people. Unbeknownst to me they sold it to this dishonest owner from Kingston. Now the same thing as happened. This time I had brought in 3 beautiful woolen sweater jackets and a winter jacket. One of the sweater jackets shrunk, the other two were distressed, thinned out and rolled. The winter jacket came back also thinner and with a terrible smell. The women who worked there were helpful and friendly. But the owner told them he would not do anything because I had waited too long to pick them up. He also would not call me. He needs to be out of business. I am sending a letter to the Better Business Bureau. Please be careful with anything you love. read more

In the last few months , Classic Cleaners mashed up a good jacket but I still thought --hoped --they were careful and reliable . Handed over a precious, expensive, fine Missoni matching sweater and cardigan for dry cleaning . Cardigan came out ok. But the sweater seemed to have been thrown into a hot washing machine . The neckband all buckled. The sweater shrunk. The outfit ruined. No solution so far. Terrible service , a financial loss for me, and a real disappointment because they were once good. read more

Used to be my go to cleaner before the pandemic. Not sure if it's recently changed owners but not the same any more. Dropped off shirts and one pair of dress pants, all to be ready on Friday. Upon going to pick it up, all the shirts were ready, but when I asked where the pants were they told me they didn't have them and questioned if I had actually dropped them off. Then they told me the best they could do was have me come back Monday to look for them. When I dropped them off I specially said I needed them before Sunday. Had to rush out that evening to buy a new pair of dress pants for my husband. And on top of that they charged me for the pants when I picked up the shirts. Other issue was that they shrunk two dress shirts, most of the stains were still on the shirts, and the buttons were missing completely from one of the shirts. My mother in law had a similar issue a month ago when they lost her jacket. Very disappointed and will not be using this cleaner again. read more

Do not use this business!! I have been a customer for 10 years, spending over $2k on dry cleaning. I had noticed service quality decline under the new owners 3 years ago - a shirt that was lost for a week then found, buttons missing or broken. But never again! I recently brought in a $90 sweater for a few oil stains. The stains were removed but when I got it back a new stain appeared that looked like a cleaning agent or chemical that was certainly not there when I dropped it off. The owner acknowledged that the damage was possibly related to the fact that my sweater is suede (it is 92% cotton, 8% elastane and is dry clean friendly). The owner tried to remove it but couldn't, then told me I could get it removed for $40 through a special service. I refused given they had damaged my shirt. Now I have a damaged shirt. I will never again use this place, certainly with anything valuable!!! The owner also has a location Kingston Green Dry Cleaners on Broadway in Kingston. I wouldn't chance it there either. read more

Dropped off white cushion covers for a high-end sofa. I'd done this here before, and am sure it's not the same owners, plus the place looks really not good.Three weeks later payed and looked and saw that they now had a four inch wide beige stain along all seams, and left it to be fixed. They never called me ever after, or shared about how they operate. I four weeks later learned that they were hanging in their basement ignored. I got different messages from the two women who I won't name, and the management always elsewhere, never replied to my messages. Only at my urging to take care or this, it was done last week after nearly 2 months. I requested delivery for my trouble, told them repeatedly I had the charge statement for having paid, wanted a refund or even compensation for all the chaos, but when I randomly got a call from the boss yesterday that he would deliver them and would be passing in 20 minutes. We exchanged sympathies slightly. I asked how the refund would be handled, of course he nothing about this idea. I was pleasant throughout and explained how very stressful this long ordeal had been, he became angry refused the refund. I suggested small claims court, and he became angry and said would not deliver them. So in my only contact he couldn't make even the small gesture of this delivery, which might have been enough to keep me from neg. reviewing a local business. Bizarre and un-business-like. Just picked up over $300 worth of dry-cleaning which I had prepaid in April and which they stored for the summer. Wools are covered in long gray hair and short (I assume animal) white hair. I have neither long gray hair nor pets. Are they cleaning my things with clothes from others? Is that even allowed? I guess I'll have to find a new cleaner. read more

This is the first review I am writing on Yelp because, like other reviewers, I had a bad experience. I dropped off three cashmere sweaters, which I bought at the same time from the same company. One came back extremely shrunk to the point I could no longer wear it. At the owner's request, I brought the sweater back because he asked for the opportunity to stretch it out. It is still shrunk. The owner refused to reimburse me for the clothing they damaged, citing their policy of not reimbursing for the cost of clothing even if they damaged it. read more

I'd like to give 5 stars for direct customer service as the direct customer service employees of this cleaner are top notch despite the challenges of their business practices. Unfortunately, the owner of the business is whom we are reviewing along with his business practices..... We found classic cleaners by recommendation of another cleaner employee. Initially we were happy with the service but in the past few months we started to notice a distinct change. 1) a strong scent on the laundered shirts. When brought to the owners attention, we were told "maybe some fabric softener was accidentally added to the laundry". Ok- shirts were laundered again with a decreased scent noticed but still scented. NOT OK. Scents are not welcomed in laundry and have never been used in ANY OTHER DRY CLEANER we've used in more than 30 years of having dress shirts "professionally" laundered. 2) French cuffs not pressed "up" . Despite numerous requests to have the French cuffs pressed into the folded position, they were often flat or had wrinkled corners. 3) dirty cuffs. The wrists and collar areas of our shirts often need a little extra attention. In the past, we had "spot stickers" which alleviated this detail- in this case, we were told all shirts were inspected prior to laundering and no highlighting was necessary. The cuffs on white shirts often had to be re laundered- and then were clean. 4) spots on suits. Same problem. A simple "spot sticker" would be so helpful to highlight areas for extra "expert" attention. After all, why bring xl thing to be cleaned , if it's not actually returned spot free? 5) after asking again to speak to "Jack", the owner of Classic Cleaners , we received a call with a message telling us HIS BUSINESS WAS UNABLE TO MEET OUR EXPECTATIONS! What a wonderful experience every time! My husband is a pastor and needs timely turnaround for his clericals and vestments. His alb always comes back on time and as clean as the day it was purchased. The employees are so warm and genuinely care about being part of the community. They ask after our family no matter which one of us is picking up the dry cleaning. And we're not a special case- lots of families in the community use Classic Cleaners and share the same success stories time and time again.
