The car was towed from my mechanic to Sherif. The tow truck driver asked, "Are we towing it the Mercedes -Benz mechanic on La Brea and Centinela, because that guy is really good with these cars! The customers always give us good reports about that shop!" Upon meeting Sherif, he asked me to bring him the other original fob key even if they're not working. (I had 3 fob keys; 2 had stopped working after going through the washer/dryer by accident and the dealer charged $200 per fob.) That afternoon, he diagnosed the issue -- fuse box and struts had to be replaced. I gave him the greenlight and it was ready the next afternoon, along with the fob keys working again! He gave me a deal! Here's another important part of my experience: When I mentioned I will bring my BMW to him for service, he responded with, "No, I do not want to take away business from your mechanic." Business ethics and integrity. Much respect! Thank you to Sherif and his team for the fast and quality service, and discount. I love that business owners like him and my mechanic care about the customer and their craft.

Jose discussed with me what had happened and some tips since I was curious and wanted to understand more for next time. Ron was inquisitive and understanding of my situation. Since I was far away from home, he lent me a car for the afternoon so I wouldn't have to walk in the heat and made sure the job was finished day of even though they were clearly busy. Had a little time to talk after and he's a very kind and honest guy. Price was very fair for radiator and radiator fan replacement + new coolant on my 2009 Mitsubishi lancer. Charged around 400 for the parts (what Ron said he got them for) and 450 for the labor I don't remember exact numbers but total around 850; parts were sourced day of. Didn't get a quote before before repair was started which may have been nice; it was a mystery how much I'd pay until I got to the shop at the end of the day, but they were busy and given my situation I needed it done so not the end of the world. Since I got a feel for their honesty I wouldn't care for a quote next time, but when it's your first time at a shop and the trust isn't fully there even a ballpark quote can be very relieving. Great experience overall would definitely go back or recommend unique auto center.

I feel compelled to write another great review for Ron and his team at Unique Auto. I have an old…read morecar (2012 Kia Optima hybrid), and yet again, Ron came through for me in ways that other car shops just didn't. My car started having very dramatic issues around acceleration, that included a couple of terrifying drives. Thinking it was most likely the transmission, I took it to a transmission shop. Basically, after driving it for like a minute or two, they just handed my keys and told me there was nothing wrong and basically that there was nothing they could do to help me. I was stunned to hear this, as I had barely gotten home in the car the day before. I came to learn that the car has to replicate the problem in order for them to capture the codes, and they basically didn't want to put in more than a minute or two trying to help me. So, I went back to Unique Auto. Ron and his team were patient enough to drive the car around until it replicated the issue and they were able to formally capture that the problem was the transmission. Then, they turned the car quickly for me, replacing the transmission for a full $2K less than my dealership had quoted me. On top of that, they had the car cleaned and beautiful when I went to pick it up (I can't imagine they do this for every car that comes in, but mine had been there a few days :) ). Car is working just great, which is amazing to me, because the problem had been so dramatic that I really thought it would never drive again. As someone who doesn't know much about cars, it has been such a help to me to have a trustworthy and skilled place like Unique Auto. It seems to me their first priority is to be helpful, not to just jack up the price so they can make as much money as they can off of you. I've had this experience with them now, multiple times. Cannot recommend Unique Auto more. They are a skilled, helpful, and very ethical shop. Thank you, Ron!

I'm writing both to praise Mike and his outstanding work, and to contradict the one-star review…read moredated 2/7/2020 by Richard S. My story began when my like-new 2016 Ford Edge was damaged in a freak accident in a valet parking lot. One of the valet employees crashed another car into mine. Richard S. was the representative of the United Valet Parking, who promised to make everything right by taking the car to an excellent garage to be fixed like new, and covering my rental car during the repair. What proceeded was a nightmare in which the Valet company shipped the car around to multiple garages, sending pictures that made the damage look superficial and asking for quotes without full knowledge of the extent of the damage. Meanwhile I had no idea where my car was until Mike of L & M called me and said "hello! do you know that I have your car here?" I was so grateful because by this time it had been 10 days and I was ready to contact the police about the valet company and my missing car! Mike was the only person I could trust, and I went to his shop to meet him in person and assess his capabilities. My eyes and my gut told me right away Mike is the real deal. Mike explained the true extent of the damage outside and inside, and showed a detailed estimate of what it would cost to do the repair with proper Ford parts. Meanwhile, Richard claimed that Mike was trying to rip everyone off, and that he knew a shop in the Valley that could do "the same work for half the price." Of course if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is! I gave Richard the chance to provide side by side comparison quotes, but they could not provide anything in writing (Mike have the full detailed estimate). So, I finally did what I should've done all along: I called my own insurance and started a claim, and informed Richard that I will have a mike do the work and he is no longer allowed to move or touch my car. At that point he became belligerent, reneged on paying my rental car costs, and was verbally abusive to Mike and wrote the absurd 1-star review. From here on out, all that's left to my story is clear sailing and five-star results, thanks to Mike and his impeccable skill, talented team, and attention to detail. mike also took care of all the negotiating with my insurance and ensured everything was done right with the correct Ford parts for safety. He completed the work in a timely manners in spite of additional needs as he completed the various tasks. Finally I got my car back looking BETTER than it even looked prior to the accident!! I can not recommend Mike highly enough. Go with your gut feeling, it's usually right. Read the other 5-star reviews and know they are real and well-deserved. What if my grandpa passed away & I couldn't be there in time to say goodbye? How can I perform my responsibilities for my small family. How would I pick up my disabled uncle to spend thanksgiving together? I wouldn't be able to drive to private clients, so I would be losing a ton of money. I was heartbroken and freaking out.
