I was devastated of course. What's worst is the way the situation was handled by Douglas. Although he was not rude, he did nearly nothing to help us. I feel in that type of situation, you would go out of your way to help find another studio. Instead, he sent the photographer a list of 10 studios. (Mind you, I can pull up a list on Yelp just as easily.) My poor husband and brother dealt with my panic but luckily another studio (not on Douglas' list) came through. To top it all off, I was told via text that our deposit would be returned by end of business day on 9/9. It is 10/1 and we are just now receiving our deposit back. While the studio looks nice and the booking process was simple, I guess be cautious if Houston is going to be having any type of rain or inclement weather. Have a backup plan with this studio especially if you have a special event/time you are trying to capture. The customer service was subpar.

I booked on Peerspace (my first time learning about it), and out of my top three choices to film my client's pilot for YouTube, Vybe Studio was the clear choice. I had seen it a few times driving past--it's within a strip mall and business park on 1960 towards Willowbrook. But now I've gotten the opportunity to film there, and it's got all the bells and whistles: commercial ceilings, blackout curtains, a hedge wall, furniture with real plants, as well as photo lighting and monitors. There are a few other amenities as well, and while Vybe Studio isn't soundproof, it's back away from 1960 that the occasional motorbike isn't a huge audio issue. Calvin was very welcoming and accommodating; we moved all the furniture out the way to clear the blackout curtains for my background, and moved them back. At $55/hr, the price was right--generous, even--for everything that's there, so Calvin and Vybe Studio would be my preference when I need a place to film.
