Rob was amazing start to finish! We needed a photographer last minute for a couples wedding shower at Lakeside Country Club in Houston - he was so easy to communicate and make plans with over Yelp. I immediately got a response, transparent pricing, and was all set quickly. I also felt comfortable making a quick decision, because his website demonstrated such a wide portfolio with great work across different events. And then as soon as he showed up perfectly on time he got right to work to make sure he maximized our experience - he made us feel comfortable, was assertive with what did and did not look good in the photo, and made sure we didn't miss meaningful opportunities to take pictures with our friends and families. I hate getting my picture taken. I mean, I really hate it. Sitting there, smiling, faker than a Trump University degree. Yet, I felt I needed an upgrade in my photos. Particularly, my LinkedIn photo. I hastily took a selfie when I needed to have a photo for my contract work, but it wasn't a good pic. Given my reluctance to take photos and the awkwardness I've always felt at smiling for photos, I figured I'd never have good pics. That's when I called Rob Greer. Rob is a professional from start to finish. Correspondence: Simple yet comprehensive. He responds to you promptly with the appropriate links to his website. Those links contained all the information I needed, but I'm sure if you need more, he's available to answer. He prepares you well for the photo session. The photo session: The thing about going to a photo session that you might not realize ahead of time is that you do make yourself a bit vulnerable. You're in front of the camera now. So you want someone who's going to be keenly aware of what you're experiencing. Rob demonstrated the emotional intelligence to see that I was not comfortable posing, and made it clear that there's really nothing that I had to do. He's the one working. You just sit there, follow his instructions, and let the magic happen. He's good at loosening you up. He's actually a fun person to be around. The studio itself is a clean and pleasant space. Rob can give you natural or studio lighting, and wide variety of color backgrounds. He'll make you feel like a star. Post-photo session: The pics were all made available within two days, and the process to retrieve the photos was all straightforward. The results exceeded all expectations. My profile pic is from this session. I'm actually 3'6" and 550 lbs. Okay, that last part wasn't true. But the rest of it - all of it - most certainly is. After meeting with at least 4 different photographers in preparation for our wedding, my (now) husband and I unanimously decided on Rob Greer. Between his easy-going demeanor and his extraordinarily beautiful body of work, it was a really easy choice. Rob was extremely creative during our engagement session and that photo shoot was so much fun and the photos were so personal. We are both high school teachers and met on the job so we took really cool pictures all over the campus. We were so happy to display our photos and had a super difficult time choosing which ones to print. The little bit of practice we had in working with Rob at the engagement session really made the actual wedding day photography completely stress-free and a lot of fun. On the day of the wedding, Rob was incredible working with those "problem personalities" that every family has... diffusing any issues before they even became issues. Even better (and more complicated), he had a blast working with the kids in the family and getting fabulous photos of them both posed and otherwise. At the end of our very perfect day, we were really happy with the way all the photography went. However, the real test of a photographer is in the images, right? When Rob posted our "teaser" photos the very next day after our wedding, I was in tears! He captured some of the most beautiful images of a wedding I've ever seen! I've worked with Rob on a few different parties now, both business and social. In each case I was the organizer and not the client or guest-of-honor, so it's been especially important to me that everything go smoothly. I can't stress enough that Rob is not only very pleasant to work with, he's also a professional. He knows what's expected, and he knows how to deliver. You won't have to worry about when he's going to show up (a little early), if he'll look appropriate (always), does he have the necessary equipment (so many lenses), will he get a shot of all the right people (better tell them to look cute), or how the pictures will turn out (beautifully shot, candid, sentimental, adorable, and super frame-able). I honestly have so many amazing things to say about Rob that I'm borderline afraid that Yelp is going to try to filter my review for being too gushy. If, like me, you have a bit of ADD and this is too long for you OR you are just looking for the Cliff's Notes version of this review - just know that my husband and I both feel that of all of the choices that we made for our wedding day, hiring Rob as our photographer was the best decision we made - by a landslide. When I began searching for a wedding photographer I was sure of only one thing - I didn't want my photos to look like every other wedding photo I had ever seen. I did want some traditional shots, but I wanted a photographer who had a quirky twist, while still being mindful of all of the aspects of good photography. I am extremely particular, and I literally looked at almost 30 photographers and contacted 8 before I hired Rob. Before we hired him for our wedding day we actually hired Rob to take our engagement photos - I wanted my rather camera shy husband to meet him before we put down the deposit for our wedding day. Suffice it to say that by the end of our engagement session my husband got in the car and said "PLEASE book him for our wedding." So we did, before ever seeing a single photo from our engagement session (they were phenomenal, for the record). Considering that we had already worked with Rob, we thought we knew what to expect when Rob and his second photographer showed up on our wedding day. We didn't. He far exceeded our expectations that day - he was fun, relaxed, and willing to roll with the punches. It felt like one of our good friends was our photographer - we were so comfortable with Rob and our family all fell in love with him too. By the end of the night, everyone was laughing and joking with him as if he were a part of our family - he fit right in. Rob went above and beyond to accomodate our wishes. Due to our budget we were only able to hire him for a certain amount of time, and technically that time ended right before the toasts and before dinner began. Rob helped us to stage a cake cutting (that looks JUST like the real thing in photos) and stayed through the toasts even though we were running late. We invited Rob to stay for dinner, and he did - laughing and joining in with the fun and festivities. However, when he saw the incredible sunset - he grabbed his camera and came over to us excitedly - asking if we wanted some sunset photos. Of course we said yes, and as with all the rest of the photos from that day - the photos are stunning. Hiring Rob to take our photos was the best investment we made in planning our wedding. Now that all of the other details are fading into the distant corners of my memory, I'm thankful to have these incredible photos that will last forever. I found Rob when searching for a professional photographer online to capture our engagement. After viewing his work I immediately knew that I wanted him to do our photos. When scoping out spots for the surprise engagement photos, Rob Facetimed with me to help choose the best spots to propose. He patiently explained why certain spots that I initially suggested would not be good spots to propose because of the bad light and offered many alternative options. During the actual engagement shoot, he was very professional and directed my fiancee and me through many different spots and poses. When our families arrived (10+ people) he would stand in the sun and patiently shoot all of our photos while we enjoyed the shade. It was almost 90 degrees out! An expensive camera and lens can only go so far. Rob not only is a skilled and experienced photographer, but he brings a lot of positive energy.
