The best way to get here is by kayak or boat probably. We came up from the north side and parked the kayaks on the rocks. There's a bit of a steep hill that leads up to the central area with the aforementioned stuff, and the hill is littered in sheep skulls/bones. I've never seen anything like it but it really looks like there was a sheep massacre here. Anyways, the island isn't really creepy otherwise. The views from the top are pretty good - you can see the lake peeking through the trees, and the swing gives you a nice vantage point to relax before making your way back to wherever you came from. There doesn't seem to be any private property but with the sheep skulls and all I couldn't be sure.

I understand that it was called Rattlesnake Island because many years ago, the island was inundated with rattlesnakes. Then, to control the rattlesnake population, wild pigs were bred on the island. The theory was that wild pigs would kill the rattlesnakes! I don't know if that's true or not. There's a building site on the island. A year and a half ago, I talked to a young man who said that he was the building site foreman. He said that he brought work crews over to the island occasionally, when the owner had tasks for him to complete. I don't know the status of the home that they were building. I believe that the island is owned by the man who's building his house there!

At $45 per night for a 37 ft MH it's a good deal. It is indeed right by the lake and the cays are on the opposite side. Great wildlife sightings including deer and geese and goslings !. The week we were there it was very quiet. The minuses: it's not well kept up. Weeds and overgrown grass everywhere. An otherwise nice view of the lake blocked by recycle bins and about 10 trash cans. At least one dog owner did not pick up after their pet so I picked up a fair amount of dog poop including one that sat in the concrete outside the laundry room for 3 days. The laundry room was surprisingly clean but some lowlife left a giant bag of their kitchen trash in the trash can. I don't think the park is looked after on a daily basis or this would have been picked up before I had to do it. As others have said this park is mostly occupied by older, unkempt RVs and motorhomes. Lots of trash everywhere tho maybe left by the day fishermen visiting the lake. Our outdoor space was very thorny so our dogs kept getting them stuck in their paws. Would not visit again. We would if it was maintained.

Talk about a disgusting place. I give it 15 stars…read more The ads that you see for this are glorified! The ads do not show the trash and broken-down trailers and RV's. I was concerned I might accidentally run over a duck when I left. Very cute regardless, especially hearing the pitter patter of duck feet hustling across the pavement. Additionally, I was treated to a couple of roosters singing their customary morning greeting. Sorry, no pictures of the roosters or ducks, I was still waking up and I was concerned when the ducks fearlessly approached my vehicle. Perhaps, next time?

One member of our family got there a day before the rest. She felt as though we was tricked from the pictures. She was told no refunds. My aunt was so disgusted she nearly got back on the plane and flew home. The place from the outside had spider webs and dirt all over the place. Its seriously needs to be pressure hosed from the outside all over. This is only where the problems start. In my beach house cottage the power and stove went out. They stated its a DFI switch or something like that, nevertheless after having a "employee who can fix it." They couldn't find her, she went home. So I had to wait to finish cooking. After about 2 hours they magically came back on. This seems as though its been a ongoing problem from the way they made it sound. Another one of my aunts had to wait for her unit to be painted 3 hours past check it. Yes I said painted! Who paints a unit same day of check in? Well later I find out they had a squatter who wouldn't leave dying there. the place smelled so bad they had to paint it to remove the smell. They wouldve been better off not renting the unit till it was complete. My aunt had to try and sleep there with paint fumes and she has asthma. Lastly mother and I was hanging out till midnight. When it was time for her to goto bed, she discovers her unit flooded from the AC. Her Bedding was soaked. They did come and mop it up and give new bedding. They literally gave the new bedding to my mom. My mother is handicap, the guy claims he has never maid a bed before. My mother could've slipped or gotten electrocuted, the offered no help. Here is the worst part they offered a $50 discount for the trouble. Moral of the story is NEVER got there. They need new owners and management that gives a dam.

Sans concierge, the Bluefish Cove is a comfortable hideaway for those outdoorsy types who truly like to play outside. A private pier with small slips are available for guests to dock their fishing row boats, and at the end of it sits a small boat house with a wood burning stove and some comfy seats. A convenient landing spot indeed...a quiet spot to enjoy a bottle of wine and listen to the crackle of the fireplace after a long day of sublime laziness. Blue Fish Cove is a simple no-frills kinda place located "off the grid" for those of y'all who don't want to be bothered... and it's a hop skip and jump away from Sac and SF. The customer service here is excellent. The owners, namely Ms Judy, was very kind , extremely accommodating, and they're pet and family friendly.
