Super fun experience! Highly recommend! Did the two day trip with camping Friday- Sunday. Came here for my first whitewater rafting trip and really enjoyed it! Can't wait to go back and do another one... both days is the same area of the river but it's fun to see progress, we definitely got stuck on rocks less often the second time around and none of us fell out of the boat only wish the instructions on how to paddle/navigate and getting into the boat in the beginning would have been longer and maybe the distance to be paddled would be longer. Unsure how many miles it is, but it takes about 2-3 hours unless you take breaks anywhere along the river to swim, chill, have lunch etc. you can only go once so on Saturday we took a ton of breaks to spend the most time at the river (they'll drive you back to the camp once you are done). Many people on the river as there are various companies operating... very different crowds... couples, families with kids, drunk college students, mix of people haha! They recommend not to take phone etc and they'll take pictures of you, but wish I brought mine in a Phone pouch... We heard others complaining about loud parties at the camp site (other tour operator) but this wasn't the case here. We had relaxing and quiet nights. The campground area is in a park and the whole area appears to be for those going on the trip so you can camp wherever. there are no showers though... Only non-flushable toilets. you'll get breakfast (muffin, fruit, breakfast burrito), lunch (turkey sandwich- vegetarian one was much better lol... with hummus, carrot and cucumber) and for dinner grilled steak or chicken with corn and other sides (Tortellini for vegetarians).

I came here for a bachelor/bachelorette camping weekend. This was my first time rafting unguided and I'm glad I did it here! It was a good start with class 1-3 rapids so not boring, but not scary. For the 2 day rafting weekend you arrive Friday afternoon/night and leave Sunday. I will say that if you're arriving at night be careful - the drive closer to the campsite has no light and has occasionally windy roads. I actually got my rental car later than I anticipated at midnight and opted to stay in a hotel and drive over early in the morning instead, per advice from my friends who were there already. That brings me to another point - there's barely, if any, service near/at the campsite. Start your navigation while you have service (Google maps still continues with no service if you start it when you do have service.) Saturday morning is breakfast starting at 7:30am and a safety briefing at 9am. There were fresh pancakes and sausage. There's always a of water (thank god) and lemonade in the cooking area available to everyone. This area also includes a shack store that sells hats, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc. The safety talk includes how to fit your life jacket properly and best practices for the raft and falling in. They say everyone will fall in at least once :P After you hand over your waiver and pick up your dry bag that has your lunches, you load up onto buses and drive up river. That's where you can choose your raft, paddle, and get right in. There are self bailing rafts and non self bailing rafts. I ended up with non self bailing and although it was kind of a hassle to stop multiple times and tip it to dump out water, I did think the weight of the water was great for keeping us more stable and not flipping. I also found the one sided paddle easier to handle than the double sided. The rapids are kind of like being on a bumpy slide and I definitely saw people bouncing off the rafts into the water. I'd really pay attention to the rocks you might accidentally hit, etc. You might also get stuck on some rocks you need to wiggle your way out of. The biggest rapid, which is a class 3 nicknamed "Mother" was a bit anticlimatic for us because I think we got lucky going down a regularly smooth path that the flagger guided us towards. This is where they take your picture too! The rapid that actually threw us out was smaller, but led us right into a rock wall where we flipped, so be careful! I lost my hat and sunglasses :( Rafting back to camp took us about 4-5 hours, including stopping for lunch. The dry bag included a standard sandwich, chips, and granola bar. Once we were back the heat was so bad that we drove ~10minutes to the Cache Creek Casino where they had some nice AC to kill time until dinner. I chose the steak dinner which was alright - the side of mushrooms were good and the caesar salad was really refreshing. They had fresh corn on the cob as well. 9pm is the slideshow of pictures they took which was fun to see. Sunday morning is breakfast starting at 8am that included freshly warmed bagels and yummy fresh fruit. This day of rafting is shorter and it took my friends around 2-2.5 hours to get back. Then there's a hot dog lunch!! That was my favorite meal haha so satisfying on the hot day. People start to pack up and leave after that. Julie is super friendly and helpful if you have any questions about booking. If you're a germophobe bring lots of wet wipes and hand sanitizers because the porta potties are what you'd expect. Do pay attention while you're rafting because the rapids aren't huge, but you can most definitely get hurt. Also, please bring sunscreen on the raft to reapply!!!!

This was my first time ever kayak rafting, I was super nervous about the 1-3 class rapids and what to do if we flipped over! However, this experience ended up being an absolute blast!!! Our group arrived for a day trip, parked the cars, then had any easy registration with our online booking. The staff was nice and greeted us, got us our wristbands and we were on our way to the next station. Next, we had a few minutes to buy anything from the store(they have water shoes, sunscreen, hats, and more!), just relax and wait for our group to arrive for the introduction. The group introduction was informative and the guide went over what to expect and how to use the equipment, it was also a time to ask any questions. Before loading on the bus, we grabbed our bag lunch/sandwiches that were included. From there, we drove about 10-15 minutes to our starting point. There we picked out our kayak/raft and the ores. Before you know it, we set sail down the river! It was difficult at the beginning as my partner and I had never done this before, but we got the hang of it. I like that this river course was slow on some parts and then fast in others. It was perfect for a beginner group! The best part was the picture in the class 3 rapid! Our kayak was backwards! I would definitely go back a again with a group of friends because its well organized, great staff, the store is convenient if you forgot something, super fun, food is provided, and the registration is easy.

Such a great deal for the money! As a dad, I wanted my 12 year old son's 1st white water experience to be fun & not scary, it's Monday & he is begging to go back! Cache Creek flows from the warmer waters of local Clear Lake, It was close enough, that we took the travel trailer for the two day experience; the road was VERY straight and gradual and made fir an easy pull. We had no hook-ups, but the parking lot was flat and as one of the few trailers, we found shade under a tree & set up quickly. Dinners were AMAZING! Juicy chicken & steaks, and veggie options. Breakfasts were great as well, good coffee, fresh blackstone toasted bagels, burritos, fresh fruit etc. Dinners, pack lunches in water-proof bags, and breakfast were ALL provided! The rafts are brutal tough and allowed for fun rolling off the smooth rocks. Guides were in the water at key areas to point out best routes, as well as, to help people occasionally getting bounced out of rafts. We made a habit of getting to shore after more challenging areas like the "Mother" to watch the guides help the guests and take great pictures. On the final say, we were home by lunch. Highly recommended for an epic staycation!

I was there yesterday awesome people great introduction we have a Blast we where 11 on our group and every one was pleased this is my second time and definitely coming back next year every one wants to stay two days so I guess we are camping next year.!! And the only reason is because the staff of the park are so amazing and they make you feel like family

This was my second experience with river rafting, however it was my first experience on a 2 person raft. It may sound idiotic or brave of me to go river rafting especially when I don't know how to swim, which ever floats your boat. The experience itself was awesome, especially if you are accompanied by great friends. Be sure to pack tons of sunblock, a hat, lunch, DRANNNNNKS and double sealed ziplock bags for your electronics. The course itself is quite long, and a lot of physical labor. The first rapid was not too shabby, however the second one was the worst one for me personally. It was the steepest rapid and my raft was lodged onto a giant rock which knocked me out of my raft. it's obvious to say that i saw my life flash before my eyes (hence not a swimmer) I have major cuts and bruises on my thigh knees and elbows. But ladies, no worries at the second rapid is where the HAWT male workers hang out. They are at the bottom of the rapid ready to swoop any hot girls up if needed. Sorry guys, only ladies will be saved. The final rapid is the biggest one aka "The Mother" which I personally didn't find as scary as the second rapid however, the rapids were lot longer. After you pass The Mother, there are a few small rapids, no big deal. Then it is about a 2-3 mile smooth sailing, which sounds great after the exhausting rapids. However, I felt that it was too long before reaching the end of the river. Overall I had fun, but would I do it again?? ..... NO....... but I might just be crazy enough to do it again... I said no after the first time, but look at me now. I went rafting for the second time!!! If I were to go rafting again, I'll be sure to be in the raft with the buff guy, so he can do all the work, and I can sit back and relax ^__^ lol Always Twerkin for Jesus, E. Quachie

I would like to start by saying that they went above and beyond for us. My story is a little bit different than everyone else. My buddies and I appeared to the campsite through the wrong road through a trail that is no longer in use, to end up trapped at the other side of the main road with no way to come out. The only way out is to go back through that trail that was extremely dangerous. I don't know how or why we end up going that way, but the bottom line is that we didn't follow the directions from the webpage (which were so easy and simple) and we screwed up because one of us put the wrong coordinate in the GPS. We camped and the next morning Julie and her husband came to meet us and I saw their concern in their eyes, but we just wanted to have fun and we told them not to worry about it and to the river we went. The experience was amazing, you felt safe because you always had someone from their crew near by. There was no rush or no pressure to finish going through the river and believe me we took our time... a lot of time. Almost at the end of the first day you hit Mother and that is where the pictures are taken. I don't know how but these guys manage to get excellent pictures of everybody, it doesn't matter if you are falling out of the raft but you will still look good. Great photographer!!!!! Once the first day is over they pick you up and bring you back to the camp and you are greeted with the most amazing steak that you will ever have, not only that but with a mushroom salad that was perfect. So, so far they are not only great people, but they have a great photographer, great crew in the river and a great chef (which I believe it was Julie's son). At this point I would like to mention the two daughters that served the food... you guys are truly wonderful people, always with a smile and ready to help, thank you for all the hard work! Now back to the story... That night we danced, drink, played the guitar and met really nice people. Every once in a while John (Julie's husband) came to us with his concerned eyes and gave us possible solutions to leave the camp the next day without a problem. In one of those conversations he asked us about our gas situation and we told him that we were almost empty but we were going to have some friends to bring us some gas. He smiled and disappeared... 30 minutes later he came with a 5 gallons tank, which he gave us and didn't charge us, we tried to paid him but he refused. At that point I was already with the WOW in my mouth. This is a guy that really wants to help and that really is a nice person that is going out of his way to help a bunch of strangers. The next day, we woke up and decided not to go rafting and try to drive back home. John approached us one more time and he asked us to wait for 30 minutes that he had an idea. Thirty minutes later he came with a flatbed trailer, some 2 x 4's and two metal ramps. He was convinced that he could build a ramp to attempt to drive the car over the concrete block to his flatbed trailer. He told me "you only have to have faith," and to my surprise he was right and we manage (after a really long time, hard work and a lot of motivation) manage to get the car on to the flatbed. It was super dangerous, but the entire family was there to help us out. I usually don't write reviews but the entire team of cache canyon river rafting trip were AMAZING and they went above and beyond with kindness and a HUGE smile. I can tell you guys this much... they will make you have fun, they will make you feel safe and they will make you feel special. They deserve to have 6 stars. I will post some pics of the car situation.

Point blank- I'm not a "camper" by any definition. After this weekend -I'M A BIG FAN!!!!! A group of 8 of us decided to go for the 4th of July. We all loved it. Again, I'm not a wilderness girl & I'd go back again! STAFF: Talk about friendly & WELCOMING! I felt like I was camping with family. It was relaxed & casual. But don't let the casual feel fool you--- this operation is ORGANIZED! They were prompt and true to the schedule that is on their website. RAFTING EXPERIENCE: LOVED THIS! 30 min orientation to the raft. There is adequate staff throughout the weekend where you get equipment, along the river, and at the camp site. This experience was good for any level. One of my friends doesn't know how to swim too well and was a bit apprehensive and she was fine. HOWEVER, listen to the advice of what to do when you fall. There are points of the river where its easy to bump out if you are not paying attention (or if you drink too much.. mmhmm!) TIP: Feet first, face looking down the river -- look at your toes. Don't panic. As easy as that sounds--- if you just float down the river as if it was on purpose - you'll be all gravy baby. Trust. I fell out. Best thing I did was relax, and let the river bring me out. FOOD: BOMB. BOMB. BOMB!! Plenty & everything just HIT THE SPOT! OK let me tell you one--- After the day on the river and in the heat, the fabulous Cache Canyon staff made us a HUGE bone-in ribeye steak, tasty Caesar salad with croutons, sauteed mushroom caps, green beans with BACON, and bomb-bomb garlic french bread. Then they brought cookies over. Whhaaatt!!!! So yum! CAMPING EXPERIENCE: It was memorable in a good way. You can find flat areas for your group to set up tents all together & away from the main camp site. MY ONLY NEGATIVE: (and this has nothing to do with this company) PORTAPOTTIES make me want to DIE!!!!!! Especially when a day goes by and its 100 degrees outside. They do clean it every morning but still. OH man. AND the bathrooms near the rafts/kayaks, oh- don't even go there.. it smells like 5 years of pee. (gag) SUGGESTIONS for you when you take this amazing trip: BRING BOTTLED WATER (for drink and to wash your face), CHOOSE THE KAYAK vs the raft (because using the raft means you have to bucket out the water that builds up in the raft or stop on the side after big rapids), BRING AN AIR MATTRESS for your tents (battery operated blow up system would be best), WATER SOCKS are your friend!!! (I got mine at Walmart for $6), BUG SPRAY FOR THE NIGHT, BRING A BATTERY OPERATED IPOD DOCK, GET GLOW STICKS (tie them on the tents in your little camp area...so sick! esp because you can't make individual bonfires. Plus, you'll end up staying up later and hanging out since youll have more light. Bring alki, sit under the stars, near your glow sticks, and have a goooood night.) BRING WATER GUNS! WEAR FUN HEADGEAR (we wore afros!)

I have gone on two trips with this company already and I love it! It's car-camping and white water rafting in one. We usually arrived at the site on Friday and camp out the night before the rafting trip. My friend is fairly scared of water because she doesn't swim very well, so she loves this place because it was enough to be challenging without being overly scary. This place is extremely organized and well planned. The last time I went, it was an extremely freezing weekend and we even had hails attacking us as we rafted down the river. But before we began, the staff gave us trash bags to wear and insulate our bodies. The trash bags made such a big difference. You will receive a very quick instruction on Saturday morning and off you go to figure out how to paddle on your own. There will be plenty of people drinking while rafting down the river. My friend likes to bring a floating cooler along with the raft. There will also be plenty of people with water guns who will attack you. It's all fun. You will flip over at least once. You will get stuck at least once, so learn how to rock that raft. And of course at night, there's plenty of good food to eat and enjoy and a little dance music afterward as well. The trip is very worthwhile. Just bring a large group of people, lots of alcohol and junk food and it will be the best weekend of your life.

This is my Reckless Seekers Meetup Group's main event = Two-Person Self-Guided River Rafting! It's a yearly ritual for me to organize this. Around 40 people is the size of my group camp. We love the river! Not to mention all the tequila, vodka, beer, whisky, rum and all the meat to BBQ that comes with it. Whoopsiedoo! Can't wait for our 2010 trip... "Mother" rapid here we come!

I went with a group of 10, last July, and it ended up being such a chaotic (in the best way) and bonding experience. We still talk about it to this day. They also offer a group discount, which is worth looking into and made it feel like a really good value for everything included. All of us were first-timers, so we were definitely a little nervous going in, but the staff made it feel really welcoming right away. They gave a quick crash course/overview on how to navigate the water and what to expect, which helped ease a lot of the nerves. I'd say it's very beginner-friendly, just keep in mind it is a Class 2-3 course, so there are still some rocky and more exciting sections. The rafting is self-guided, so there's no guide on your raft, but there is a sweeper raft at the end making sure everyone gets through safely. There was also one section where the rapids got pretty wild, and staff were there helping anyone who got stuck, which I appreciated. Overall, everything felt organized and ran smoothly. We did the 2-day experience, and I'd recommend it if you're comfortable with camping. The overnight stay is outdoors, so just something to keep in mind if you're not used to that. The campsite had a really social vibe with a happy hour, group activities, and just people hanging out, which made it even more fun. The food was honestly better than I expected. We had steak and baked potatoes for dinner, and a breakfast burrito station in the morning. During the rafting, there were also a lot of scenic spots along the way where you could rest and take everything in. I remember passing by what used to be a volcanic site, which was really cool to see. Each raft comes with a waterproof bag for your belongings and lunch, but I'd recommend bringing extra snacks, water or electrolytes, sunscreen, and good water shoes. Overall, I'd definitely recommend this for friend groups, especially if it's your first time rafting. It's a great mix of fun, a little bit of challenge, and just a really unique experience. My friends and I are already planning to go again this year.

We signed waivers and were given a run down on kayaking 101 (it was our first kayaking excursion) with 4 other people. The weather was warm, the waters were calm and the mosquitoes were biting. So don't forget to apply sunscreen and have plenty of bug repellent! Wear water shoes, bring snacks and water. Also, maybe bring a small fanny pack or water resistant bag to carry small items in. As we paddled, James checked up on everybody and made sure we were all doing okay. Along the way he informed us about the wetlands and what type of wildlife were around. James even provided us with his own bug repellent to use to keep the mosquitoes at bay. Once it was dark enough, we settled in an area of the wetlands to wait for the moon to rise. My friends and I were elated and in awe that we got to see the Harvest moon rise on the hills whilst kayaking. Kodak moment for sure. The journey around Suisun Bay lasted for about 2 hours. It was a cool experience, especially with the moon acting as our guiding light. My arms definitely got in a work out from paddling so much. Overall, great experience, reasonably priced and James was professional and informative. Highly recommend!

The last time we rafted Middle Fork American was on a cold, gloomy, drizzling day in October 2019 - so we had to give it another go in warmer weather. This time around was just as memorable. Two of us in the boat ended up falling out in the water at Tunnel Chute, which happened so fast that I barely knew what had happened - thankfully, there was a nice calmer stretch of water right after through the river tunnel, so we were easily able to get back into the raft. (Thank you to our guide, Troy, for hauling me back in, and for being an awesome guide in general!) Plus this was one of the photographer spots, so the action was all captured for us to laugh about later. Later, after our tasty sandwich picnic lunch, we had a few unexpected events happen, starting from the portage down Ruck-a-Chucky Falls. Shout-out to all three guides in our group - Troy, Shea, and AJ - for handling things so calmly and getting us all back where we were supposed to be! We had plenty of calm stretches floating down the river as well. The canyon is beautiful and quite peaceful. We saw a ton of dragonflies flying above our heads, masked ducks chilling on rocks and diving underwater, and wild grapes and blackberries growing alongside the river. We'll be back again for another trip with All-Outdoors! Maybe we'll try a 2-day or 3-day trip next time.

I am a retired, out of shape 56 yr old female. Always had an interest in learning to kayak. I live…read morein Oroville. With so many places here to do so, I looked into a class. I booked a "beginners" class. If a person could know "less than nothing" about the sport, this is me. "Dan", the instructor provided the equipment needed. Boat, paddle and life vest all provided. He had folks cancel, and so there was just me. Yet, instead of calling and canceling the class, he drove all this way just so I could have my class. Who does this? Getting past the how grateful I was, onto the review. I was a bit leary at my age and weight, if I would survive an hour. (class was scheduled for 7 hrs). I was just going to go as long as I could. This man has been doing this for decades and his mannerism and making sure to go over safety things, and how to get out of the boat should I roll over was a comfort. Parents... trust this teacher with your children. I'm 6' and 215 lbs. So, if someone was going to "wobble", and fall over, it would be me! When we went into the water, Dan had "the patience of Job". Then... I "got it". I was actually out there making the boat move and with a little more time, making it move where I wanted it to! This was the most fun I've had in 2 decades! When the parts of my body that haven't moved like that got a bit sore, no problem to rest, or go to shore for a break. Dan is a professional no doubt. I cannot recommend more highly if you've ever wanted to learn, then go to the website. He offers "white water, and sea" classes as well for the more adventurous. If your like me, and just want to "paddle around local waters", he's will teach you how to SAFELY do so. I'll be doing this alone, so that was huge for me. Hope your found this helpful. :)

He has the innate ability to describe a possibly confusing technique in a deliberate understandable way. I have been kayaking for over 20 years, but my kayaking skills have soared after taking several classes. I always felt safe with Dan looking out for me, even in perilous water - and most important, it was fun. I highly recommend Dan to anybody who is just getting into water sports, or is wanting to advance to the next level.
