This was my third year rafting with White Water Adventures and it was just as amazing as the first! The new hammocks around the campground are such a thoughtful addition--after a long day of rapids and sun, it's the perfect way to relax. The food and atmosphere never disappoint. I always look forward to the Saturday steak dinner, but the appetizers (pictured) are one of my absolute favorites every year. And when the sun goes down, the blacklight bubble party takes the whole experience to another level! 5 out of 5 stars--we will definitely be back next year!

Camping area. By Saturday afternoon this field is full of tents.

Went whitewater rafting this past weekend on Cache Creek River through a volcanic canyon - serious rapids, not a chill float down the river. I HIGHLY recommend this outfit, Whitewater Adventures, they have all the bases covered. This is for the energetic adrenaline junkies, not someone looking for a lazy afternoon on the water. There are mostly Class III and Class II rapids and you're vigorously paddling about 80% of the time. The water is not snowmelt, so is a nice temp. They provide lunch, and if you do the full weekend of two day's rafting, Saturday and Sunday, you camp and they cook all the dinners and breakfasts, plus a black light glow dance party on Saturday night! Stars are also pretty amazing. The most important thing I learned was to go with friends! You'll have a much better time if you already have at least one other partner for your boat, although they do have 3 and 5 people boats, so it's possible to hitch a ride with another group if you're vocal about being a single when they hand out the gear each day.

I've been coming to White Water Adventures for 15 years. It's tradition for me and my friends. The water is exciting, the camp is comfortable, and the staff are super accommodating. This year I brought my 12 yr old along with me and my wife for her first time. Another generation of rafter was born - she loved it!!! Special thank you to mark the owner and all the super hard working staff: Nick, Ant, Natalie, Lis, Darren, and many more . . . . it's you all that make this thing extra special. Thanks for a wild good time year after year

I had the BEST time this weekend as a vip camper! The trip started with a delicious barbecue Friday night, where I got to meet the awesome staff! Then Saturday morning came along and I had the most delicious croissant to fuel a full day of rafting! Mark and the crew gave a great orientation that left me feeling extra prepared for the water! After rafting, I danced all night at the neon party! Sunday, I had a delicious breakfast burrito and headed down the river once more!! Already excited for the next time I can book a Whitewater Adventures trip! Thank you Mark, Darren, Caleb, Natalie, Anthony, Hector, and Nick for an awesome weekend!

My parents and I did the weekend trip with Whitewater Adventures and had THEE BEST TIME! Between the food, movie night, a neon party, and the white waters, it was equal parts adrenaline rush and laughs!

Making memories at White Water Adventures! Over 25 years & still coming back with the next generation, they loved it!

I've rafted with this company since the 90's and am so grateful to finally go back and have a mini reunion there with all our kids and their loved ones! We went on July 5-7th for the VIP Friday night experience, a first for me and then rafting Saturday and Sunday! It was an absolute blast!! So nice to be together with our family, talking around the tables for breakfast, appetizers and dinner and then singing and talking at our campsite. Disco in the forest is still Awesome and upgraded with the black lights and bubbles. Stars for days, relaxing sound of the river and cooling off whenever we wanted with our water access area on the river at camp. Mark hasn't changed, still full of energy, valuable history and heaps of hospitality! So glad to be there with him at WWA and look forward to going again every year as a tradition. Six of our party of eight came in from out of state, so the VIP Camping and having the ability to rent a tent, with sleeping pads and chairs included was so convenient!! Looking forward to getting friends and family up to raft together, it was perfect! Be prepared for a full day on Saturday and/or Sunday - check in, gear loading (if camping), bus ride, safety briefing, rafting, water gun fights on the river, stop to enjoy lunch at your leisure, raft to campground take out. One day trippers bus ride back to cars, multiple days, set up camp, appetizers served with live music aloha attire, then relax until dinner served (steak or chicken, potatoes, corn, pasta, Oreos and milk for dessert), little rest and get ready for the disco under the stars! You can go single or two day trips or make it a VIP weekend coming in Friday night. All options are amazing and catered to whatever works for your schedule! Large group organizers can work with the administrators really early through email. Thank you Mark and WWA crew for an absolute blast!!! So love your hospitality and humor, all while keeping us safe and helping us make memories!!

    Friends at the camp!

Wow, what a fabulous experience! I love it when you just have to show up and the rest of the experience is taken care of for you, especially when it comes to an outdoor adventure. There was a beautiful space along the river to camp and play in between delicious meals, rafting adventures, and even a disco party! The mix of your own adventure and suggested activities with some added. Comfort was an absolute delight. Still smiling from a great weekend with friends and family.

Our wonderful guide, Wes and our crew!

Let me start by saying we stayed at Paddle Ridge so we received a 10% discount, that was nice! I booked my 19 year olds over the phone, no issues. I was nervous and wanted to check things out and told the lady that. When we arrived there, I told the staff that I had called and was nervous and immediately one of the staff said "Oh, are you Janice? We spoke earlier when you called." That immediately put me more at ease. Her reassurance was all I needed. The ONLY complaint I had, was that the wets suits we wore were distributed by male guides, who clearly cannot judge female sizes, no fault of their own. I wish they would have allowed us to request what we thought would be our size. I am a large woman 5'11" and weigh 240#'s, thank goodness I've lost 40#'s so far. Anyway, one guide handed me a wet suit, I asked if he thought it would fit because it looked small. He said "Yes, absolutely." I could not get it on. I'd my kids were not with me to go get me another, I would not have gone. My son's suit was way too small as well, he is 6'6". I got another suit, still too small. By this time, I am in tears. Yet again, we get another suit and, alas, this one fits! Maybe to help resolve this issue, ask people the size that they normally wear and let them size up or down. Our guide, Wes, was amazing. He was fun, knowledgable and aware. He talked with the kiddos on the raft as well as the adults. He gave me a rope to hold onto as I was still terrified. I had rafted once before and it was a bad experience so I am glad I went again because it was well worth it!!! Wes, you need to post your Venmo or PayPal #'s for tips like the other guides.

Love this place! We've been here a couple of times and have had a place had a absolute blast the entire time. While this place does offer certain "amenities" like lawn games, and river exploration, Rumsey is generally exceptionally hot at all hours, and you'll probably be lounging around your campsite the entire time, and if you're ike me, drinking heavily. What this place DOES offer is an "all-inclusive" camp/stay/get fed rafting trip, for CHEAP. And if you've got a good group, that's all you really need! The rapids are level 2 rapids and you don't need to know how to raft beforehand (I do not know how to swim, and I've survived three trips down the river). It's not hard, but it's not a lazy river ride either. There's a (really long) orientation in the beginning anyway that tells you how to paddle all the way through the course, BUT even if you fall out your life vests are great, so don't worry! basically, if you're into fancy food and class, I don't recommend this trip. If you're good with shit food + high speed water adventure + general camping things plus the bonus of a portapotty, you will have a good time. AND if you have a big group, you get a free bottle of tequila. That's winning right there! --- sweet: extremely cheap for a trip where all meals are provided bitter: the meals are unfortunately not super great. but you should expect that, honestly.

    Raft for 2-3 ppl

ONLY FOR ADVANCED RAFTERS. Did the two day camping rafting trip. You are put on a tiny ass raft and put down class 1- 3 rapids with no helmet. Camping was fun. Skipped the second day of rafting after all the bruises we sustained from being knocked out of the raft.

We had an Amazing Time !! Thanks To our Captain Rene. we were a party of 6 in our Raft with 2 7 years old Boys. We took the Gourge Express level 3-4. The kids were all excited, we got our Life vests, helmets, and paddles. we were told by our Captain to carry a water bottle as we might be thirsty in sun for 4 hrs. We got our instructions and all excited to get in the raft. Hope they Sanitise the Vest and Helmet Kids got settled in the Middle and with their paddle, they started BUT the Paddle was TOOO big for them so Captain suggested they to enjoy and they were SAD they will not get to Paddle and it was NO FUN... BUT Captain suggested them to have them sit in Front and Enjoy the First-class View. Initially, water was shallow and slow-flowing so they were not aware of the FUN Ahead. Captain Rene was Knowledgeable and gave good guidance conserving our energy and having fun Captain gave a lesson in case we are dislodged in the stream on how to get back on the raft.. Kids Started to like it as they get to practice jumping in the water and come back to Raft ... As Rapids and satisfies experienced rafters, offering the diversity of classic Sierra foothill scenery, narrow rocky gorges, peaceful calms, and over 50 Class II & III rapids! ALL IN ALL SUPER FUN Recommend Rene !!!!

SO FUN! This trip was a blast. There are some parts of the river that it helps to know when to paddle etc, but there were plenty of beginners out there. We did the 2 day camping. The meals were great, live music, made so many friends. I was super nervous at first but couldn't wait to get back out day 2. Weekend camp for the kids that never grow up!!!

Looking for a 1/2 day, guided, gentle rafting trip for 4 adults & a service dog. Mon 24 July. I rafted as a child; my relatives have not rafted but do dive. I want to get wet but don't want to be thrown overboard. Coming from Sac. What do you offer?

we went here on July 4th, 1st time and it was super fun. we had taken George it was of level 3 and we had 2 kids 7 years old and they had blast. Our Raft Captain was Rene and he was Knowledgeable and knew the course very well.

What kind of life vests do they use? I was really intoxicated and also broke one of my kneecaps on the river but still didn't drown so I would like to purchase one of my own!

I was really nervous at first and honestly wanted lazy river rafting with zero rapids, but after the experience with H20, I'm excited to plan another trip with them. You should bring water bottles and sunblock on the raft. Your other belongings are safely locked up prior to launch. This was my first time going both whitewater rafting and camping, and the entire time I felt taken care of, safe, and catered to in ways I hadn't even expected. I don't know how many times I shouted "Team Audrey!" as she expertly navigated difficult rapids. Roman was the guide responsible for riding ahead of us with all our cargo and setting up camp, and every time I was more and more impressed with the breathtaking set up he did with all of our tents, eating areas, and shaded spots. Dustin was a worthy team leader who made sure our trip went smoothly and on time, and was awesome to talk to and joke around with. And McClure was a thorough teacher and guide who is clearly passionate about what he does! I've noticed some reviews of people complaining about things out of Tributary's control like the bathroom quality or the heat or the other parties that would camp nearby. And even though that is technically not Tributary's juriscdiction, I still felt as if the four guides with us did everything they could to anticipate these problems and lessen their impact on our trip. Like they had a handwashing station for us, and had plenty of shaded areas for us to rest in. Not to mention they really took care of the quality of food we ate, giving gluten free and healthy options as well as snacks and drinks for us. Audrey, Dustin, Roman, and Mcclure. You four have a forever client in me. It is because of you guys I have such memorable stories that I will be telling until I am old. I can not thank you guys enough.

Alec was truly a guide in every sense of the word. He prepped us before taking on the rapids - gave us the route we would take, what to expect in terms of how we were to paddle and what we had to do. We played some fun boat games and spent some time floating in the river which my husband and son loved. Also included were the always fun brain teaser riddles that had all of us entertained during the floating portions of our trip. After completing the class 3 rapids and all staying in the raft, we felt on top of the world and wanted to do more! We did a two day south fork trip, with a stop for the night on the river bank. Our guide Cryin' Bryan(just kidding Brian!!) and bonus gear guy Gator, were absolutely amazing. The were kind, helpful, had the best stories and cooked the best food. We did 21 miles of river over two days and it was unbelievable. Things we learned on this trip... -Gator taught me how to make a camping mocha(more like chocolate coffee when I made it!) with instant cocoa mix, coffee, creamer and water. -A tortilla wrap with PB&J and trail mix is the thing of dreams. -The front right seat of the raft is the 'hot' seat(or wet seat) and you will get hammered repeatedly. Haha. -Camping on the side of the river is magic. Pure. Magic. -Hospital bar has its name for a reason. -Composting toilets in the woods smell like a gerbil cage. -Brian's love of Star Wars and pineapple fried rice lead me to believe we could be real life friends. -You can make lifelong friends out of strangers you meet on a rafting trip. The meals they provided were amazing. Well beyond normal camping fare. For sure a perk with the trip. With things like chicken salad pitas, pancakes, sandwich wraps and fajitas, we were never hungry. We upgraded to the canvas tent they have at the campground for the first night and it was wonderful. The little front porch and getting to hear the river while we slept was magic. The newly upgraded bathrooms were probably the nicest I've seen at a rustic camp ground. The shower stalls are outside, but each one has a locking door with the shower stall and a little changing area with hooks and a bench(and the rain shower heads were great, but know the water pressure isn't the hardest, but not the worst either). When the 'Boss Man' picked us up from the river on the last day, it was really neat to get to chat with him. He asked for anything we think would add to the trip, and the only thing we can think of would be to bring along a yard game for the overnight trips, like ladder-ball or something for on the river. But there is absolutely nothing we would change. Enjoy my million pictures. I really couldn't pick and choose what to show, so I showed it all! We can't wait to go back!!

My party of four signed up to raft the full day south fork July 31, 2025. Three of us had at least…read moresome rafting experience prior to this "beginner" course. We were assigned a guide who, once we were in the raft and on the river, announced that he had limited white water experience and was mostly familiar with float trips. This raised some red flags but we brushed it off thinking Sierra would never put someone ill equipped in a raft, alone with guests. Wrong. We made it through the first few rapids mostly unscathed. We did end up running into other rafts accidentally (the guide admitted to this). He also inadvertently took us through rapids at the same time as other rafts; this happened twice. He also mentioned that he got the raft stuck on a rock the day prior and it took multiple guides and thirty minutes to free it. About an hour in we went through a rapid that all the other rafts traversed with no issue. We slammed into a rock and I went flying out of the raft a slammed into a rock, tumbling down the rapid and hitting multiple rocks along the way. I was able to grab my paddle AND the guide's paddle and swam my way back to the raft. I had multiple scrapes on my left leg and moderate pain in my right lower leg. The guide apologized and said he "forgot there was a rock there." We made it to camp about half an hour later for lunch. I could barely put any pressure on my right leg. I hobbled to a picnic table, hoping a brief rest period would stop the pain. Wrong again. The guide alerted Sierra leadership, who was present at camp, about the incident. NOT A SINGLE REPRESENTATIVE CAME BY TO ASK HOW I WAS FEELING. I could not continue with the trip and had to use a lawn chair found at camp as a make shift walker to get back to the parking lot. Once again, no assistance was offered from Sierra. I picked up a pair of crutches in Sacramento. After flying home and visiting the orthopedist, I was scheduled for surgery a week later because it turned out that the collision with the rock fractured my tibia. I was on crutches for three months, out of work for 7 weeks, and out thousands of dollars. At this point, about four months later, I can barely walk any sort of distance and still have to attend physical therapy. We called Sierra to let them now what happened. They offered to refund my trip but did not follow through until we called back a week later. I trusted Sierra to provide us a good experience with a qualified guide. Could this have happened even with a qualified guide? Yes, but not likely especially on this beginner course. No one else on the trip even fell out of a raft. No one from Sierra ever asked how I was or if I needed assistance. In fact, one gal was rude and indifferent when my husband told her I was injured. If you choose to raft with Sierra make sure you proactively request a seasoned guide. Ask the guide about their credentials BEFORE you get on the river. Do not accept someone with limited experience! It is dangerous and you could end up with a broken leg or worse... To add insult to injury, the lunch sucked.
