We had to reschedule our trip a couple times because of life issues and the staff was happy to help us. When we finally made it, we were greeted warmly and were given a choice of a couple sites as three were available. Our site backed up to the water which was really nice. The atmosphere is very mellow at this campground, which is perfect for us. I love the vintage vibe of the campground as I have a vintage trailer. The staff checked in on us to see that everything was well through our time there and were glad to direct us to local sites that we were interested in seeing. Also, about two minutes away there is a Walmart so it is super easy to get anything you need or have forgotten. Made new friends in the campground and had dinner together which was really nice as well. Glad we finally made it and we will be back.

    Awesome creekside spots!

Great stay in April right on Cache Creek! Full hookups and not a ton of neighbors, also have kayaks for rent.

Super cute, small, quiet campground on the lake. Deer, birds and river otters are fun to watch. Staff is super friendly. Was suggested to go to Six Sigma Winery. Beautiful winery with hiking trails and animals, got to see all the baby lambs. Good wine, also a Harvest Host Winery. All size lots at the campground, we have a 32 ft backed in with no issues. Looks like a great fishing spot. Also has a launch ramp.

All about that bass no treble.

Cool little camp site. Like others have said the campsites are pretty small and you're right on top of each other. Me and two other fishing buddies stayed here for one night and it worked for us. Lisa, the owner/on site manager was super helpful and friendly from booking all the way to checking in. If you're looking for a rustic and charming spot and don't mind roughing it a bit then this will work. Electricity right at your spot, BBQ, and picnic bench. FYI we stayed at Site 13 and I recommend it. A little bit of extra room and it's right next to the boat launch. Place is pretty safe. Pros: - Location - Price - Amenities (Bathrooms, pool, showers, etc) - Campsites right on the creek - Boat launch - Ability to fish the creek from your site Cons: - Rice flies were amazing. Good thing they don't bite. - A little bit of car noise. Not too bad - Sites are a bit crammed

I'm just ending a three day stay here. It's super cute in a vintage way. It reminds me of camping in my youth. Nice little park with corn hole and ping pong, there is a playground with swings too. The pool is really shallow and would be great for kids. The noise from the freeway however takes away from the camping mood. It's very pretty on the other hand and I'd recommend for a stopover or a launch point for your boat.

Lisa came out of the office to greet us. She asked me to wait under the canopy while she got the paperwork. She gave me the rules and warned me about not letting any people or animals swim in the water. The green algae can be toxic. There is so much algae the creek is green. Lisa also told me no unregistered guests in site. We where there to visit family and had planned to bbq for them...not now. There is only one tiny area of grass and dogs are not allowed on it. The RV sites along the river are back-up sites which have full hook-ups. The Sites are small, clean, have bbq, fire ring, and picnic table. There is two restrooms with showers and at least one port-a-potty. There is several permanent RV and trailer residents. The park was quiet at night, only annoying thing was the nightly overwhelming smell of Marijuana. The nights are cool and you can hear the frogs. The weirdest thing happened to us here... we got back to camp around 10pm and found a chicken perching on our chair. We tried shooing it but it won't leave. Not leave even the presence of our two big dogs could get that chicken to leave. Lisa came over and with paper towels put it in a box to takeaway...Lisa said, this was a first for her lol.

    on the river

Went there with my two kids (9 and 11) with our pop-up camper and aluminum canoe. We checked in early and right away were greeted by one of the employees (Chris) even though the office was closed. He set us up, and then offered to try and find us an open river front spot. No luck. All of the staff were so helpful and friendly. The other campers consisted of families, couples and retirees. No loud, partying hooligans and troublemakers. After check out time, Lisa (General Manager) let me leave the camper in our spot while we drove up to the lake for a couple hours. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this place. I found it via The Dyrt app.

One member of our family got there a day before the rest. She felt as though we was tricked from the pictures. She was told no refunds. My aunt was so disgusted she nearly got back on the plane and flew home. The place from the outside had spider webs and dirt all over the place. Its seriously needs to be pressure hosed from the outside all over. This is only where the problems start. In my beach house cottage the power and stove went out. They stated its a DFI switch or something like that, nevertheless after having a "employee who can fix it." They couldn't find her, she went home. So I had to wait to finish cooking. After about 2 hours they magically came back on. This seems as though its been a ongoing problem from the way they made it sound. Another one of my aunts had to wait for her unit to be painted 3 hours past check it. Yes I said painted! Who paints a unit same day of check in? Well later I find out they had a squatter who wouldn't leave dying there. the place smelled so bad they had to paint it to remove the smell. They wouldve been better off not renting the unit till it was complete. My aunt had to try and sleep there with paint fumes and she has asthma. Lastly mother and I was hanging out till midnight. When it was time for her to goto bed, she discovers her unit flooded from the AC. Her Bedding was soaked. They did come and mop it up and give new bedding. They literally gave the new bedding to my mom. My mother is handicap, the guy claims he has never maid a bed before. My mother could've slipped or gotten electrocuted, the offered no help. Here is the worst part they offered a $50 discount for the trouble. Moral of the story is NEVER got there. They need new owners and management that gives a dam.

With much honor Clearlake holds a special place in my heart as the Dudes grandparents settled here about 60 to 70 years ago when the lake was at its peak. The dude and his family has spent so much time and memories here it holds sentimental value as the Bepa (the dudes grandpa) I knew and adore is no longer with us but the memories will always be present. To me it was a time where the American dream was possible and achievable. A war veteran dedicated his blood, sweat and tears and built the dream cabin for generations to come and enjoy. I was able to get a tiny piece of it during the 4th of July. As it was my first time visiting Clearlake and visiting the cabin and experiencing the family camping. I can see how the dudes grandparents fell in love with the community and the lake as it has a lot of festives and community activities. It was a simple time back then. No distractions of electronics just time spent with those we love. Although Clearlake has changed They have a fire work show, carnival and so much more. This hidden gem has grocery stores, parks, Native American resources, their own police department, school just like any other small community. Although the lake is no longer clear but reminder of the history that continues to stands. The dudes grandmother who is in her 90s (Mema) continues to share with me what life was like raising a family in Clearlake in the 1940s, traveling with a large family and pointing out all the changes. I enjoy every single moment as nothing ever stays the same. Her stories are like a Gold to my ears. The dude took me to where him and his grandpa Bepa taught him how to fish, set up their own camp fire and swim. So it was lovely going back to memory lane. It was a magical moment until some crazy person doing donuts and drinking crashed into a car with a little girl inside and took off! It was mad. The drunk driver ended up coming back and crashed into another car and a police chase ensued! It was a scary moment as the dude and I were just feet away but time has changed so much! But the history stands. All weekend I heard stories of how wonderful it WAS and I believe it still is. I had nothing but great time of learning how to camp, not to swim in the lake due to the elevated toxin levels but it shows that dreams can come true if you want it and it shows - as the hard work of one who didn't believe the dream was possible ...it is and is cherished by many many generations and more to come! The dude and I are hoping to come back for Labor Day to celebrate the wrapping up of summer. Continue to honor the blood, sweat and tears of Bepa as he was my grandpa too! And his wife who is now a widow carrying on the magical memories of her spouse for those who listen. I would recommend it is a lovely community and lake filled with history and stories ! We can find beauty and hope as long as you believe.
