Just got back from a family campout at Cache Creek. Pluses: Terrific, friendly and attentive camp hosts - Aliyah and Jaden - keep the bathrooms tidy and well stocked and the campground clean. Very nice couple. The views are amazing, the sites are roomy with good tree cover on most of them. The creek is beautiful and fun for tubing and rafting. Minuses: Showers are a bit pricey at $5 for five minutes. There were an awful lot of bees and ants so next time we'll bring a screen house. It is a popular campground so it can get noisy with everyone having fun. Anyway, we will definitely be returning! read more

Terrible experience with the owner who is aggressive and unreasonable. We called a week ahead to see how much it was to park a car at the spot for a week. When we went to drop off the car the owner doubled the price. It was $60 when he originally said $35. We paid but were hesitant. When going to pick up the car we dropped some trash off in the dumpster. The owner ripped down in a golf cart almost hitting one of the park residents. He started yelling at us about dumping trash even though we had paid a steep price to just park a car. He demanded money or that we take out trash. Then he assaulted one of our friends by hitting him in the face knocking off his hat and broke his glasses. Things were continuing to escalate so we left and called the cops. He was arrested after we left. I would not recommend staying at this place and giving this jerk money. read more

Went camping here for the first time last week. It's about 15-20 past the Cache Creek Casino. We came with a large group, so we had several sites booked. The sites (2-8) at least the ones we were in were roomy and allowed for plenty of tents spread out. No power and no water at each individual site, but you have access to water. Bring a raft or tube to float down the Cache Creek, we had a blast navigating through the various rapids. No cell service, so dl your playlist ahead of time. I would definitely come back and camp again. read more

My husband grew up in Woodland and calls the Capay Valley and Cache Creek Canyon "God's country". And so it is. I have traveled to many places in the world and seen magnificent nature, incredible cities, and cute towns. Of all the places I've seen, however, none could match the glory and nature of Cache Creek Canyon. I wonder how many people who visit are aware of the tremendous history of the location? Native Americans lived along the creek and in the canyons for thousands of years. If you know what you're looking for, you can see Indian burial grounds and other sacred sights all around the creek region. Think about that...pretty amazing! My husband and I have seen evidence of Gold-Rush era history, too - such as the miner's cabin on the side of one of the canyons. It's in ruins now, but can still be identified as the home it once was. Based upon many reviews complaining about that bully (Jesse), I sure hope the jerk is long gone. I didn't encounter him while at the campground this time, so maybe he's working at that casino by now (much better place for him). By the way, the creek is not a "river". Cache Creek flows from Clear Lake. I'm respectful and grateful when I visit this location; I consider it a gift. read more

The old park host, Jessie, is long gone! Cache creek is again a wonderful place. The recent I just wish they would allow more people and vehicles per group site. Travel trailers and tow vehicles count as 2 vehicles. There is easily room for more vehicles at sites A,B, & C. park hosts have been very nice! read more

I came here with some friends to camp just to stay over so we wouldn't have to wake up super early for rafting the next day. The campground was really dark and difficult to navigate at night, but eventually we found our spot (the numbers are painted on the ground). The ground is pretty bumpy for camping as well, and the facilities are pretty average - bathrooms aren't very clean, and not very plentiful either. It's pretty cheap though, at $25/night. Not much to see, though there's a river in the park! We saw people bathing and swimming later in the day there (when we rafted by). read more

As a valley local I've been to this site a number of times over the years and I'd say that Overall the site was nice and in good condition, the bathrooms were not cleaned going into Father's Day weekend the ports potty's were full and disgusting and the numbering system doesn't make sense at all so if you book with a bunch of friends make sure your site is next to their before booking our friend booked 18 and 19 and we booked 20 thinking it would be close to them but nope it was at the opposite end of the camp ground and 27 was right next to them. Wtf? Who came up with this? At night they have clearly posted signs all over the park stating 10 o'clock is quiet time. 10 came and went and the noise from the large groups in the group sites were still loud and obnoxious playing very loud music and you could hear them yellling chug chug chug at one point. Yet the camp host to my knowledge never left his trailer as we could see their trailer from our spot and after 8 I never saw him outside of his trailer. This was a dry run for my child who has never been camping and was good overall but needs some serious improvements for their rates. Update: I have to say the second night was much better than the first all the new groups that came in were much more respectful of everbody promptly shut off their generators and music at 10. read more

Beautiful campground nestled right along Cache Creek, it's a great launching off point or take out for a fun Class II river float in warm(ish) water. Hiking is steep and beautiful but hot and dry. Campsites 43-45 were nice and tucked away from the main campground. Group Site D looks tight if you have a big group. The camp hosts were friendly and talkative. Pro-tip: hit up the Cache Creek Resort and Casino on the way back, sign up for the Cache Creek club card, and get free buffet for two people. read more

We've been coming here for many years since my daughter was only 4 years old. Now she's 18 and she still loves coming up to this secluded campground, she has many things to do, like fishing, swimming, river rafting, or just sunbathing. My 2yr old son also loves the place because it's got a playground, an open space if he wants to place soccer. Their bathroom is normally clean and well lit up at night. Water next to your camp site is a plus but right now they only have a couple of faucets open due to drought. We love the shady sites, the table, the open fire pit and the space that you can park your car in front of your site. The newly added sink where you can wash your utensils, pots and pans is also an upgrade and a plus! At night, people gather at their fire pits, play songs, laughing and just having fun. The music and lights usually die down at around 10 PM. It's $25 per night which is not bad. They have a general store where you can buy ice cream, ice and fire wood for $5 a bundle (other things I guess). I totally dig that it's secluded. The next town is about 20 mins away and 30 mins drive to Cache Creek Casino if you are feeling lucky. Cons: No cellphone connection so remember to turn your phones off or else it will drain your battery ( roaming) that's why it's only 4 star. But we will return, always! read more

Nice area but full of ATVs, motorcycles, and people shooting guns. Since you never know how a bullet might ricochet, we decided not to stay and hike. It didn't seem safe on foot without wearing bulletproof vests. read more

This is my friends and I go to place every summer. This year due to different schedules we just went for a day. We had our music on and grilling the whole day, just mind our business. Some lady comes running to us that's shes was going to shut our speaker off if we didn't do it ourselves, saying that she's been telling us and we don't listen when we were never told to. She went on talking more shit to us calling us stupid and how someone across the road could hear our music... it was 4pm when we are allowed to do that. I don't even know who this lady was when the camp host is a man. Besides that we had a great time as usual. I really hope next time that crackhead isn't there or at least takes that stick out her ass read more

My friend and I just returned from a 2 night stay at this lovely campground. Since we had made the reservation online, it automatically put us in a spot that had very little trees, therefore not a lot of shade. Upon our arrival there was only 1 other campsite taken so we opted to take our chances and park in a different spot that was well shaded, had a great view and was closer to the water. The camp hosts Jesse and Debbie were great! They were friendly, polite, and fun! Jesse even tried to fix my camping lantern which ultimately took a dive and also helped us fix our steps up into the trailer. The restrooms are clean and well-maintained. The grassy areas are very nice and the grounds well-maintained. Overall it was a great experience and we will definitely be back!!! read more

This was my 4th camping trip and they have seen better days. The owners have cut down on everything including bathrooms (not cleaned or tp). No trash can at campsite, have to lug your trash to one of two trash bins. Bathrooms were dirty. Five years ago bathrooms were kept clean. Campsites so small you can hardly put a tent on it. Charge you full day even if you get in at 5pm. Owner could make beach improvements to make up for all that but doesn't. Lots of dry brush....and the beach area is so small......too many other places up, just 2 more little hours. read more

I recently visited this camp ground and had a great time. I sincerely wanted to give the facility a higher score but they have a huge problem. The camp host plain and simple. The man drives around in his atv vehicle harassing guests non stop. We used a group campsite for the weekend and he constantly was a nuisance to our group. We were a relatively mellow group of first responders who were looking to relax for a weekend. The host (who wanted us to call him Marshall) zipped by about every hour in his vehicle breaking the posted speed limits by more than double and kicking up huge dust clouds. It was impossible to cook or keep anything semi clean while he was doing this. There was one portapotty for 30 people and 2 rolls of TP. Needless to say Marshall was too busy shaking us down to tend to the site. The portables got nasty quick and ran out of supplies almost instantly. The plumbed bathrooms were often locked. There was no water on the group site...when I asked him where the nearest water source was he pointed to the river. He insisted we had 11 cars (we had 10 and a tent trailer) and made us pay extra. Not a big deal. It he kept coming back and asking for more. I saw him doing the same all over the campsite. We eventually resorted to bribing him and giving him $ to leave us alone. The park system should be ashamed this guy represents them. He often smelled of booze and he the worst attitude. If he wanted your attention he would whistle at you as you would a dog. This should of been a relaxing family weekend, instead the camp host did his best to make sure every one knew he was in charge. Shameful. read more

A great place to vacation ruined by the Camp Host (Jessie) this guy went out of his way to let you know he was in charge and there was a zero tolerance policy. We tried to reason with this man but he kept stating that we were showing him no respect he just kept repeating that. It was like he wanted us to address him with Yes Sir everytime we saw him. We are not an unruly group most of us are proffessionals we even had a Deputy District Attorney in our group. I am in the process of filing and official complaint and sending it to the highest Yolo County Official I can find. If anyone has had run in's with this Guy please write a letter to Yolo County we don't need people like this in jobs where they deal with the Public read more

this was my 2nd visit to the campground.. i think it may be my last.. the camp host constantly harassing us and many other camp sites .. often racing his golf cart around like speed racer looking for things to yell about.. the restrooms with plumbing was often locked.. the port a potties were not maintained properly often running out of supplies.. our day visitors was yelled at about extra cars as soon as they arrived not given the opportunity to pay the day fee yet. the host was rude and threatened to kick us all out in 5 min if the cars weren't moved immediately.. he appeared more focused on being a cop than being a camp host .. i would not recommend camping but as a day trip it a great swimming hole read more
