    Margherita pizza?
    Gina R.

Hard to enter because they lock the doors from the formal restaurant entrance after dark so go thru the main Westin hotel entrance. Service was friendly and prompt. She even took the pizza off when I let her know it wasn't cooked the right way. I pre-empt this review with the fact that I am New York City dweller. I now live in NH but was born there and grew up there. This Margherita pizza was well undercooked and trying to be acceptable to New York standards (quality ingredients were present) but it was reminiscent of a Chicago deep dish pizza. It should be thinner and crispier not overly cheesy and doughy--pleeeeasse!! Also let's not forget some salt and pepper the basics people! The salad was done well. Great fresh mozz and arugula and balsamic glaze. The only complaint there was that prosciutto should be soft and silky. Silky is not how one would describe this prosciutto as I can tell it was hardened in parts like it came off a sheet presliced prebought refridgerated situation as it dried out a bit in spots. Mad props to the server who took the pizza off my bill super nice of her to do! I will give them a try next time since the salad was very good and I can tell they have quality ingredients just need to execute a bit better.

A Solid Hotel Restaurant for a Quick and Convenient Bite. I was staying at the Westin for a business trip, waiting for my room to be ready and it was close enough to lunch. I started off with the Toasted Ravioli ($8) with marinara sauce and it came out quick. It was sprinkled with parmesan cheese and tasted good. My only recommendation would be to cook them for one minute less, so they do not come out softer. I also ordered the Pollo Panini ($14), a grilled chicken breast, with baby spinach, heirloom tomato, fontina, and pesto. The sandwich was solid, good taste, and could have used more pesto. However, the side... a fennel and orange slaw, was tremendous! Never had anything like it and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would have ordered a couple more sides! Overall, this was a good restaurant that served its purpose, coupled to a hotel. You can come down for a convenient, good meal for lunch or dinner.

This time, we arrived at 6:30pm on a Friday night and were sat at a table in the main thoroughfare. The ambiance was poor and it was so loud that we needed to shout to be heard. We ordered the caramelized cauliflower appetizer which was drowning in cream sauce and so smothered in cheese that it no longer looked like a vegetable. It was too rich for us. They were considerate to give us plates to split the scampi style shrimp, which was well cooked. However, the grilled beef tenderloin and potatoes were very lackluster. We'd asked for medium rare and the kitchen must have been rushing as it was still raw in the middle. We tried to get the server's attention, but they were very busy and we gave up. A particularly strange and rude interaction from our server when collecting the check left a bad taste in our mouths. I was glad to see their popularity but disappointed at how it decreased the quality of our experience. Unfortunately, we had an unpleasant time overall. If you are planning to go, I recommend choosing a less busy time for a better experience.

You need to book a reservation for Friday and Saturday nights. We had ours for 7 pm and were seated promptly. Food we got Toasted Ravs's these are a STL staple and a must get. The sauce is on the sweeter side so be prepared. I got the Lasagna which came with a salad. The dressing is also on the sweeter side. I love that so it's a great salad and it's topped with provel cheese. The lasagna has provel, beef, sausage and ricotta. It's light on the ricotta which I love. They use the same sweet sauce for the toasted rav's. It's a huge portion! My friend got a chicken dish which came with bacon, broccoli, peppers, and had toasted bread crumbs. He loved it, however he said it did not have much chicken. We were so full we skipped dessert. Great meal. For two people it was about $100 so pretty reasonable. We also got alcohol so it would have been cheaper without wine and a mixed drink. Best Italian on the Hill in my opinion!

The toasted ravioli were small and tasted like they might have come straight from the freezer. The salad was probably the best part--they are known for their sweet Italian dressing. My chicken spiedini was nothing special, with flavorless prosciutto and a piece of cartilage in one bite. My wife's entrée was swimming in a bowl of sauce. Even the bread in the basket was smashed. The drinks were just OK, not fully mixed. The ambiance wasn't much better. It was noisy, with a constant parade of traffic passing right by our table. Our server was just OK. The oddest part of the evening was the table busser, who would literally throw plates and silverware into his tub. Every few minutes, he'd clear another table, crashing everything around. When he reset the table next to us, he actually threw the plates onto the table like he was trying to break them. It was so absurd that we laughed out loud. Seriously, you can get better food and service for half the price at Pasta House.

We started with the toasted ravioli, and it may have been the best I've ever had. Crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. Our party of four was thrilled with every entrée. I ordered a veal dish with a side of pasta, and it was absolutely outstanding. Everyone else ordered pasta dishes, and there was plenty of "oohing" and "ahhing" at the table with every bite. The portions are huge, so we're all looking forward to enjoying the leftovers. Service was friendly from start to finish. Our server was warm and attentive, although things moved a little slower than expected, and it took a while for our entrées to arrive. That said, once the food hit the table, it was clear the wait was worth it. The restaurant has a wonderful history and old-school charm, though the dining room could probably use a little refreshing. We also stopped at the bar before dinner, and unfortunately that was the biggest letdown of the evening. The presentation and flavor of our cocktails were surprisingly disappointing--they looked and tasted more like drinks from a budget hotel bar than from one of The Hill's iconic restaurants. Thankfully, the incredible meal more than made up for the cocktails. With so many outstanding Italian restaurants on The Hill, we've been fortunate to try many of them, and Cunetto House of Pasta has firmly earned a spot in our personal Top 3. We'll definitely be back.
