best vet in the coachella valley. i moved here from san fernado valley ca. about 2 yrs ago. wonderful doctor my dog had a big cyst and other growths and dr. clark took care of ever thing for my spoiled cocker spainal. now he looks great and feels so much better. he really cares he comes and checks on all of his patients and manages to talk with everyone. he is a very busy doctor . my last vet didnt want to do any surgery on our dog so the cyst grew pretty large. dr. clark is amazing. thank you doctor clark! helen read more

My wife and I found Dr. Clark about a year and a half ago, when our elderly Brussels Griffon started having several compounding health issues, as a result of which we had to keep bringing him in for various tests and treatments on an ongoing basis. We found that Dr. Clark and his staff were attentive, kind, compassionate and helpful. Once the time came that we had to let our little darling go, the experience of putting him to sleep with Dr. Clark's help was as comforting and peaceful as one could ever hope for such a devastating event to be. Definitely a very busy office, called during the day and sounded like the doctor answered the phone himself, sounded very busy in the background. I told him the just of what was going on with our puppy Bella and he offered me a 7:00pm appointment. I was happy with that as I wanted my husband to be there and it was after work hours. We arrived at about 6:45pm, his office is attached to his home. We were anxious to find out what was wrong with our Bella and excited to see this vet after reading his great reviews. I stepped into his waiting area and grabbed the clipboard and started filling out paperwork, there was no one at the front counter greeting people as we walked in but people were around/staff and everyone looked busy. So I just set my clipboard down and as soon as I saw a person who was in scrubs a gentleman who made eye contact with me I said hello here for my 7 PM appointment here is my paperwork. He smiled and took it, what happened next was a whole lot of waiting! We saw and met so many people, people who came in after us were taken all this time no one said we will be with you soon, hello, thank you for waiting... Absolutely nothing! Everyone we met said he was great, so we waited patiently... At about a little after 9:30 we started questioning and thinking we should just leave and that's exactly what we did. Thanks for nothing. Guess you have to be a regular to be treated right. I own a business myself and anytime my techs are running late, even if it's 5 minutes I'm calling to let the customer know. Waited 2 hours and the doctor was with my dog for 5 minutes. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I went and asked how much longer and the doctor told me about 10 more minutes because he likes to do thorough exams. I heard in the background my dog crying and the nurse yelling at the doctor saying he was ready. I was charged $195 for a Cytopoint injection, two medications and consultation that was FIVE MINUTES long. Take your time and money elsewhere. read more

Dr Clark is the worst.... does not care! Do not go there if you love your pet. If you just want to neuter your pet, go ahead. But if your pet is sick and dying, do not go there. He will ignore your baby, not do any of the tests that he says hes going to, and then call you 5 days later and tell you they're dead. This is after I begged him to let me know if my dog was going to die because I wanted to take her home and let her die with me. He is an awful person. I simply just called to see if they carried heartworm injection, instead of answering my question, the receptionist responded with a question 'is your pet a patient here', I responded ' no, i would just like to know if you carry the Proheart 12'. She jumped down my throat stating ' I have to know who I'm speaking to before I go ask the doctor a question'. Totally an unsolicited response so I hung up on her. Her Tone was disrespectful and rude. I should have looked at their Google reviews before calling...It explains the low star rating and trend this veterinarian and his office have. If they were this abusive over the phone, can you imagine how they will treat my pups behind closed doors?...I'm soo disgusted. Am happy to go somewhere else and give them my business..Mr. Clark, get your office in order so you can clean up your reputation. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. For some background info. I have a maltipoo girl, her name is Coco and she is 1 year old. She has a stomach problem ever since I've had her. My experiences: -The first time I went to Dr. Clark's office (February 2020) I told him that Coco threw up almost once a week whenever I gave her kibble. I told him that to me it is pretty alarming that she's throwing up often and he said it's normal for puppies, but to bring her in to see if she has parvo. I took her in with appointment and we didn't get attended until after 2 hours. Once we went into the room with Coco, Dr. Clark told me she clearly didn't have parvo by the looks of it. He said I should come back another time to get her blood drawn and run some tests. He proceeded to charge me $150 for the appointment even though all he did was have me waiting for 2 hours just to take one look at Coco and assume she didn't have parvo. I swore I wasn't going to come back in after this. -On New Years Day 2021 Coco spent 2 previous nights coughing all day so I knew I needed her to get checked ASAP. I didn't know of any other place to take her to so I resorted to Dr. Clark again. Again they took about 2 hours to attend her. They gave her medicine and a shot because her throat was inflamed and told us she had kennel cough. I went home and after that Coco was okay. This was the only time she was treated okay. I was charged $50 this time for the appointment and other charges that included the exam, the medicine, and the shot which then totaled to $150. -Today I needed to get Coco's rabies shot so I decided to call on the phone for an appointment. A lady answered the phone so I proceeded to tell her I wanted an appointment. She asked me for my name and I told her. She said my name wasn't on there and if I was listed under another name. At first I told her my full last name, but she only got the first part so I told her my full last name again which she then said, "Oh!! See there we go now I see it. Is your name hyphenated?" I was confused because I didn't know what she meant and then she said "It's when you have dashes in your name." I responded, "Oh, I shouldn't have any dashes in my last name." Because she made it seem as if I should've known they put dashes in my last name when they first got me in their system. She then said "Okay, I don't want to get headache this early in the morning, when is your (question)?" I didn't hear the last part because I was taken back by the fact that she said I was giving her headache just because I didn't know if my last name was hyphenated in the computer system. I said "excuse me?" And she proceeded to explain the hyphenated situation and I immediately hung up. I wasn't going to take her rudeness just because THEY spelled my last name wrong and SHE didn't know how to look it up in the system, blaming me for not knowing. Another experience from a friend: -My friend took his sick cat to Dr. Clark's office around February of 2021. They couldn't tell what was wrong with his cat so they ran some tests and told him they would call him the next day. The next day goes by and my friend notices his cat even more sick, but still no call. The next day in the morning, his cat passes away. He proceeded to call Dr. Clark's office where this lady answers his call. My friend asks about the tests they ran for his cat and asked why they didn't call him. They told him that he should've been responsible for calling them and that they don't call anyone. He was upset because he was told that he was going to be called and that it costed his cat's life. Overall, I would not recommend this place. Dr. Clark rushes through all the animals, the assistants/technicians are rude as hell, and scams you out of your money by overcharging or trying to make you come in a second time. read more

Dr Clark is the best vet ever. I moved here 2 years ago and looked for a vet for my little Maltese as he has medical problems. I was impressed with him from day 1. My little guy has always hated going to the vet but he bonded with Dr, Clark immediately and does not mind going to see him at all. A year ago last July my little guy became quite ill, and I almost lost him, Dr Clark had me bring him in and he stayed there for a week, his pancreas was shutting down. Dr Clark saved my little guy and was the kindest vet I have every had any contact with. In a matter of weeks after my guy came home I got sick and ended up myself in the hospital for 17 days, I contacted Dr. Clark and he took my little guy in for a week until I could find someone to take care of him. Yes, you have to wait to see Dr. Clark, because he is so popular what can one expect, he is worth the wait. He is gentle, caring and his rates are so reasonable, I am so fortunate my neighbor told me about Dr. Clark. When I take my fur baby in now to see Dr. Clark, he is always so kind and always inquires as to how I am doing. All of his office help are also as kind, and considerate as any staff could be, I think he and all his staff are top notch. No they don't wear uniforms, they are casual and laid back, and they aren't in some fancy dog hospital, but that's not what makes caring people, But they are honestly, and genuinely caring people about your pets and you, and I have found him to be available any time of the day I have needed to talk to him. I like the relaxed atmosphere and with all these wonderful things he is reasonable. What more could anyone want. THANK YOU Dr. Clark and your staff, you wonderful people. read more

Rude, unprofessional and disorganized. I needed invoices to submit to my dogs insurance, went there to request and he said that he charges $25 more to give me an invoice because 'it is a lot of work to make one". He said his consultation is normally $50, so he would charge $75 and the insurance would reimburse me (not our insurance). Additionally he did not have time to work on the invoices at that time and would call me when he did. This was about a month and a half ago and I have not heard from him. My dog passed away a little over 5 weeks ago. I am still completely devastated and heartbroken to have lost her. (R.I.P to my sweet Angel ). I paid a TON of money to have her cremated, her paw print, and the urn. The reception person told me it would take 3 weeks when most places take less than that. It's been over 5 weeks with no phone call or anything. They had to be reached out to. Their excuse? They didn't have "boxes." Boxes for what?! Please specify because if it's to put the ashes in don't cremate unless you have everything you need. Like... come on, call people and let them know what's up. I can't say enough good things about Dr Clark and their staff. After terrible experiences elsewhere, we were recommended to Dr Clark. The pricing is super reasonable and the staff LOVES animals. Dr Clark has performed surgery on one of my dogs, has vaccinated all my puppies, but the real stand out was when my baby Bishop was diagnosed with Parvo over Thanksgiving. Let it be known, for the safety of all the other dogs, Dr Clark doesn't allow Parvo dogs into the office (which is great). His staff opened their gate for me and my sick Bishop and set up an a mini clinic in the back of my suburban IN THE PARKING LOT, sat and comforted me as I cried my eyes out, and loved on Bishop as if he were his own. He did this three days in a row! I can't even explain how special this really is. My precious boy is back to full health, and I have Dr Clark and his amazing staff to thank. While other vets would have likely turned us away, Dr Clark didn't. God bless Dr Clark and his staff. Dr.Clark stepped up in an emergency after Merlot, our gentle and loving white lab/ shepherd mix was viciously attacked by a pit bull and a stray during a dog potty stop in the Indio area on the way to visit our son at ASU. He quickly advised us to bring her in where he stitched up her head and neck puncture wounds, inserted drains, and gave us antibiotics fo prevent further damage. He also wanted to see Merlot and follow up with us on our way home from Tempe. While the cost was not minimal, it was eminently reasonable under the circumstances. As I got to know him, I was very much reminded of the knowledgeable " country doc" image, which very befits Dr. Clark. I'd say without reservation that he's " one of the good guys"! read more

Dr. Clark is a hard-working approachable vet. He has been more accurate in his diagnoses than the far more expensive Vet Hospital here in Indio, and my dog likes him better too! His clinic is in an older building on the east side of Jackson which is quite rural. Don't expect to see a fancy office or waiting room. And due to his popularity, expect a fairly long wait to see him. Once you are in you will find that your pet is well taken care of. And despite a large staff and busy practice, expect Dr. Clark to often answer the phone himself. Some have complained he is gruff.
