We met face to face on March 24th, had a very pleasant exchange of info and he said the returns would be ready the following Monday the 30th. On March 31st I called the office and asked if they were ready and the receptionist said she would get back to me and never did. On April 3rd I called again and she promised she would call me back and never did. Our return is pretty simple as we take the standard deduction. I had to get them done another way. Over 10 years ago I had the same experience but wanted to give him another chance. I really can't figure out why this is the case... Wasted my time and money and frustrated. Never again.

He's not responsive, he sets up calls and then never answers them. The first year of tax preparation was not without its bumps in the road but it wasn't so terrible that I was convinced not to do business with them again. The second year, it went a lot smoother, I knew what to expect and the appointment resolved items in one visit. The sore spot was my initial tax preparer (She no longer works there and no, I had nothing to do w/her departure). She seemed ill-prepared for "appointments and hesitant to apply items to my return for fear of being audited. I totally get that her name as a preparer goes on the items but my life isn't so bad that I rely on someone to cook the books in hopes of a hefty refund. I'd show up with supporting documentation and was asked to wait while she ate lunch. That pissed me off especially if you knew I was on your list of appointments. The manager Marie B. did an outstanding job of resolving a concern I had and did so in a professional and expeditious manner. I had no concerns over privacy as she notified me of practices to safeguard my information when corresponding with me. The office is not open daily and basically manned more during peak periods and for those with appointments. They do offer to review your prior year's tax returns for amendments if needed. Overall, what I paid for a federal and multi-state tax return was very affordable and processed in a short period of time. Located next door to Firehouse Subs in Gambrills, parking is shared with the other businesses in the area and isn't a challenge. The ability to make an appointment online is your best best if you've never done business with them. Confirmation of appointments and rescheduling was not an issue. I do think I would utilize their services again as I was happy with the way they handled my complex tax return and the follow-on support if any issues arise. Room for improvement in a few minor areas but overall a 3.75 star experience.
