I experienced constant flooding and sewage leaking from the kitchen sinks (yep, 2 sinks), giant sized insects invading our space, decaying floor boards from water damage, 3 years of uninterrupted mold and mildew, the need for a dehumidifier requiring 4 buckets of water to be dumped daily, and the last stray was a bathroom ceiling leaks flooding the unit requiring a 1 month stay in the hotel paid for by my insurance and I still had to pay the rent for my unit. During those 3 years, I suffered terribly from respiratory problems for the first time in my life. No empathy shown by the leasing agent or landlord for the major and myriad inconveniences. Upon returning to the unit in addition to the floor repairs they used substandard contractors to paint the walls. During my stay at the hotel (on my insurance's dime, mind you despite paying the full month's rent DURING it's renovation) I was not notified that the walls would be painted until AFTER the work was done, nor was my artwork removed from the walls prior to painting. The substandard painters merely painted around my artwork. Essentially their substandard painting contractors sealed the damage free adhesive to the walls with the paint making the artwork impossible to remove without damaging the wall. Moreover, the substandard contractors also painted over the back door sealing it shut. Upon move-out, the property management company wanted to penalize me for the damage caused by their own substandard painters shoddy work, since there're still holding on to my security deposit. Avoid renting through this "property management" company at all costs

For our home search, he suggested listings, showed up to properties with us and recommended an excellent inspector, electrician, and we closed quickly. And since I use Yelp for everything else, I decided to see what the People said about realtors in the area. As you can see, Shaun has a lot of fans. I loved what people had to say about him but it was really the video on his website that convinced me to set up a call with him. Hearing Shaun talk about where he grew up, how he ended up in DC and how he runs his business seemed almost too good to be true. But he's the real deal. Shaun wants to help you find your perfect place more than he wants to just sell you a house. Since I was doing this completely on my own it was important to me that I felt comfortable with my realtor. And while I took friends on a couple showings, in the end it was Shaun that helped me figure out which place was right for me. He would gently point out things that maybe I didn't notice or tell me when something wasn't as big of a deal as I thought. When I tried to talk myself into something he would remind me of the reoccurring dream I had about more space and how maybe XX wasn't a good fit if that was still important to me. I was on the fence about whether I wanted to leave the District. I ended up buying in DC but Shaun did a good job showing me all around Old Town. He'd listen to what I liked and didn't like and then adjust what we would look at the next time And while I'm going to be a city mouse a while longer, I made him promise that when the time comes he will help me sell my current place and buy the next one -- I'm eyeing the Parker-Gray area. Lastly Shaun has a guy for everything. Need a lender, Shaun's gotta guy. Need an electrician, gotta guy. Inspector, check. And this network is just as solid as Shaun. His network walked me through everything as a first time home buyer. I hear people talk about how hard it is to buy a place and honestly that wasn't my experience, at all. Clearly buying a place isn't like picking a happy hour spot but once again Yelp pointed me in the right direction. I love my place and finding and buying it was a really great experience because of Shaun. If I could give him 10 stars and 2 energy drinks, I would.

Laura was recommended to us as a top agent in the DMV area with impressive transaction volume each year. Although we identified multiple agents through our search, we immediately decided to work with Laura after our initial video call because we were impressed by her knowledge of the local housing market and all aspects of real estate transaction. We are so grateful that we did! We were buying a condo in a very competitive area. Every time when we made an offer, we had a competing offer and had to act very quickly to make our offer more competitive. Laura worked around the clock to prepare the comparative market analysis, tour the units with us, crafted and advised us on compelling offer terms and negotiated with the seller agents. Our closing had some extra complexities due to the condo building's financing approval being expired. Laura skillfully helped us navigate this issue. She proactively included relevant language in our offer to protect us from such financing issue before we even knew there was an issue with the condo building. After we discovered the issue, Laura was in constant communication with the seller's agent, condo building and mortgage broker to speedily resolve the issue and ensure we could close on time within 3 weeks. Laura's price prediction and recommendations were spot on when we submitted our offer. She recommended us to adjust our offer to a certain price to increase our chance of sealing the deal at our offer price (instead of activating the price escalation clause and resulting in us paying a higher price). We were able to be the winning offer because of Laura's excellent communication skills and expert advice. We followed Laura's recommendation and did not have to pay more than our offer price for the condo. The appraisal ended up being higher than our purchase price. We are grateful that Laura helped us secure our dream home at a great price. Laura was extremely responsive and patient. We had a lot of questions as first-time home buyers. Laura patiently answered all of our questions at any time of the day. Despite her busy schedule, she accommodated our challenging schedules and requests under short notice every single time, which enabled us to close our home with great success. We could not have asked for a better realtor to share this home purchase journey with. Thank you Laura for being an outstanding, caring and dedicated realtor!

The View is only motivated by charging you as much as possible and sometimes providing you with the minimum legal standard of a habitable apartment. Don't expect more from this place. We were nickel and dimed on our security deposit and all our friends that moved had the same experience. They charged us more than we felt we owed, but strangely could not reach the staff at the view, and were ignored. They just want you to pay your bill and not argue here. For 8 months straight, our neighbors played music or the TV from 10PM till 2 AM on and off during the week and weekend. I had concierge go and warn them to stop like 8 times and filed numerous noise complaints, which I felt were not addressed properly as the issue persisted for as long as it did. Even the band that played during the day above us was quieter and more considerate than this guy. They did not care to fix this, because our neighbor was a paying resident like us and that hurts their bottom line. It doesn't matter if you break the rules here. For every problem we had here, it felt like they just want to you live with it. Just like the roaches that infested the building for a time, or when our AC was broken for a month and our apartment reached temps as high as 90 F. They couldn't believe the problem wasn't fixed. This is the experience you will get here, they just want the problem (you) to go away and pay your rent in peace. Literal garbage landed onto our balcony all throughout our stay from other residents tossing their trash from the roof or their balcony. I've seen report cards, boxes and dental floss thrown onto my balcony. It was disgusting. The resident events went downhill in quality and effort. The community is also not really here anymore. Everyone seems angry, and people drive like maniacs in the garage. The elevators are often broken down and in need of repair, often putting residents into a constraint of 1 elevator during our time here When we told the office we'd move out and afterwards made maintenance request, it took them three days to fix it. And they only did so after we went to the leasing office to address it. It was fixed twenty minutes after speaking to the leasing office We booked our loading dock slot and were told a week later that another person reserved it (by email, not via the reservation system). We were informed that it was a glitch, but it shouldn't take two weeks for a glitch in the system to be noticed. They prioritize at all costs, new residents. Once you've sent in your notice to move out, you become chopped liver. If you're thinking of the view, go somewhere cheaper. They raise rents 5% or more every year, and don't provide more value in return. Not to mention the apartment industry in DC is full of price collusion. Go across the street, live somewhere else. You can have a View anywhere.

She learned our tastes quickly and weighed in when we needed another opinion on a property we saw. (She was especially helpful in dissuading us from putting offers on properties we knew weren't right for us, but which we thought we *should* want.) Finding a home in this market can be demoralizing. Meg's warm personality and wise guidance kept our spirits high throughout. She knows NoVa inside and out, so we had the confidence that only working with the best can bring. In the end, she helped us find and close on our dream home--a great townhouse in a kid-friendly neighborhood that we're thrilled to be raising our daughter in. And she did it for a price well within our means! I can't imagine us having made it through the search process without Meg. And while I hope we stay in our home for many years to come, whenever we find ourselves eying the market again, I know who the first phone call I'll make will be to--Meg!

Most of the building's owners bought when it first opened (so I'm told), so they're competitive with rents. It's more "classic" than modern, so you're not walking into some insanely hip place, but stately in its own right. Rooftop is nice, gym is ok, and the pool seems well maintained (haven't been on that deck yet). But if you're looking to move/buy here, get something away from the west (N Vermont) side. This part of Ballston is the loudest effing place on earth. I used to live on the wharf with 10,000 people a day passing outside my window, and I rarely heard a peep. I even had a concert hall in my building a few floors down and didn't hear a thing! Here, it's garbage/recycling, engines revving, pile drivers, back up alarms, leaf blowers at 7 am (even when there isn't a leaf to be found) and deliveries to the local bars ALL. THE. TIME. I'd finally had enough of it back in January and confronted some of the US Food and Waste Management guys in my pajamas after yet another insanely loud 0300 garbage pickup. The security guys working overnight at the commerical place across the street (Arlington Gateway) gave me the building manager's name and, with coordination with our own HOA, they agreed to stop (most) activity between 12-5 AM, and I actually slept through the night for the first time since like October. I can't believe I was the first to complain about it, but it's a million times better than it was. FFS, there's city noise, and then there's constant rackets that continually and deliberately violate Arlington's own noise ordinances. Anyway, a testament to the quick actions of the HOA here. That all said, I'm hoping some other apts have soundproof windows and more efficient AC units that don't vibrate, bc it can add up and get annoying quick. So much better than it was, but be prepared. Other than all this, great location and a quiet building....inside at least! Oh and if you're coming here, get a tiny car. Nearly every spot here is for a compact.
