I had surgery done almost four years ago with Dr. Clarel Antoine. He came highly recommended by my father, who is also a doctor. I had been secretly suffering with fibroids for three years at the time. Every minute, every hour of my day was spent thinking about this bump in my belly and how uncomfortable it was. I woke up every morning with it being the first thing on my mind. It was a stressful time. I set up an appointment to meet with Dr. Clarel Antoine. I had seen many doctors and no one really knew what was wrong or at least no one told me what I wanted to hear. Dr. Clarel Antoine was different. He had such a peace about him. He spoke very calmly and made me feel at ease. A few days later and after so many years with this thing in my belly, I finally decided to have the surgery to remove the fibroids. By the way, it had grown to be 15 centimeters long, four whole pounds. Talk about having a baby bump. Except that it was not a baby, I had fibroids. I was driving around one day and finally, I cried out to God and said "I don't understand why I'm not healed yet. Should I be believing for that, that I am just going to be healed, or that I will have a successful surgery, a speedy recovery and that this thing is not coming back?" Then I heard "According to your faith be it unto you." (Matthew 9:29). The next morning, I woke up saying "I don't want to wake up sad and uncomfortable anymore" with this thing being the first thing on my mind, every single morning. Then I heard very clearly "Get the surgery." I made the decision to have the surgery and such a weight was lifted off my shoulders, such a joy came over me. That's the day I decided to call Dr. Clarel Antoine's office to schedule the surgery. I was actually excited. Who gets excited about having surgery! I did, because I was finally going to get rid of this thing that started my day off "wrong" every day for three years straight. The surgery was a success, my recovery was speedy, and close to four years later, I am still fibroid free. Dr. Clarel Antoine, Peggy at his office, Dr. Sheth the anesthesiologist, and every single staff member at NYU - from the receptionist, to the operating room staff, to the nurse who helped me adjust the volume on the TV, to the receptionist who stamped my card, which showed how many laps I had walked after the surgery - everyone was so pleasant, so patient and so kind. They made me feel at ease from beginning to end. I woke up from surgery with a smile on my face. They were all surprised to see me in such a good mood. I know it is because of Dr. Clarel Antoine. My Dad's recommendation to see him, and the peace of God that he has, was what I needed to make such an important decision. I wish I could give Dr. Antoine and his entire staff at Compassionate OBGYN more then 5 stars because you will not find a more caring and capable doctor and staff in all of New York City. I felt so incredibly fortunate to have had Dr. Antoine deliver my son. His bedside manner in incomparable with any doctor I have ever gone to for anything. He takes his time with every patient and puts all your worries about child birth at complete ease. When I found out I had to have a scheduled C-Section I was terrified. When we arrived at the hospital every staff member we spoke to from the nurses to the anesthesiologist made a comment on the side how we were in the best and most METICULOUS hands they had ever seen. The doctor on the hospital staff that assisted Dr. Antoine with the procedure said to Dr. Antoine at the end of my surgery she hoped to work with him a lot more because she felt everyone could learn from him. And they were right. My recovery was incredibly fast and my scar is so small you would not believe I gave birth to a baby just under 10 lbs. His patients are his priority and no matter what your needs are he will always make himself available. I still can't believe how quickly he will call you back with any question you have. Just to emphasize how respected Dr. Antoine is I think its beneficial to know how he ended up my OBGYN. I was recommended to Dr. Antoine from a close friend that was a nurse at NYU. He delivered her son and she had nothing but glowing reviews. She found Dr. Antoine because she asked around the hospital who nurses and doctors recommend as an OBGYN and his name continually came up. You know you have a top doctor when other doctors and nurses recommend him. But its not just Dr. Antoine that makes Compassionate OBGYN an incredible practice. You will not find a nicer and more caring nurse then Irina. She always has a smile on her face and makes each visit a personal and important experience. Peggy who works at the front and does all the billing and scheduling is beyond accommodating and makes sure any questions or needs you have are addressed immediately. Last year my family moved to the South and I still come back to New York to see Dr. Antoine because I know I will never find another OBGYN like him. read more

I get teary just thinking of Dr. Antoine and what a gift he is! We have had a long road to welcoming our daughter into the world. After years and years of IVF, we lost a baby at 33 weeks in 2018. I was with a different OB practice that was absolutely awful. No need to get into the details but i could not have felt more like a number. I didn't even get a simple call or a pre printed sympathy card in the mail after delivering our stillborn baby on vacation out of state. NOTHING. The whole situation was so shocking and it raises my blood pressure even thinking of them. Dr. Antoine and his entire office could not be more different. Peggy at his front desk even called me the day we delivered on my phone to say congratulations. Who does that?? As for Dr. Antoine, first of all, he gives you TIME. He answers anything and everything thoughtfully and thoroughly, and has been doing this so long, he knows it all. I never felt like I needed a 2nd opinion which i have felt like with so many doctors along this journey. He also gives you his CELL PHONE. Are you kidding? My other OB office had an answering service that after a would take your message, and the doctor would call you back. Who knows when. Having a doctor's cell phone, especially in the days after giving birth and being at home, overwhelmed with newness, and in our case totally alone because of Covid, was so comforting. Just the sound of his voice on the other line made me exhale. I was a high risk pregnancy and Dr. Antoine took the time to go over my history thoroughly making me feel incredibly comfortable. Plain and simple, he is a doctor that cares. He cares about his job and he cares about his patients. I can't help but think about what would have happened with the baby we lost had we been with Dr. Antoine. Fortunately we have a new beautiful life in our hands, and Dr. Antoine was the perfect one to help us bring her into the world. read more

i have been using dr. antoine for 18 years. he is THE MOST COMPETENT OBGYN IN EVERY WAY. he also makes you feel like you are his only patient - when he delivered my son he stayed with me during my entire labor and delivery and somehow he does that with every single patient of his - he's truly incredible!!! even more importantly, he is THE MOST COMPASSIONATE DOCTOR i have ever met. two cases in point: my elderly mother - who was not his patient at the time - had a crisis . her doctor didn't want to be bothered. dr. antoine gave us an appointment that day - cause he said she's probably nervous - pulled up his chair next to her so she could hear him clearly (she was hard of hearing) and spoke directly to her (most of the time when the patient is elderly the doctor speaks to whoever comes in with the patient, making the patient feel ignored). he calmed her down and guided us through an operation, as well as treatment thereafter, for a very successful outcome. also, when i was pregnant, he did an amniocentesis cause there were some worries about the baby. he knew i was very nervous so he told me he'd make sure to get me results the next day, which was friday. late afternoon on friday, someone called me with the good news that all was okay with the baby. on sunday, which was dr. antoine's day off, he called me just to tell me how happy he was for me that all was okay. he started a group called 'doctors with compassion' and on the door of his office the plaque reads 'Clarel Antoine, MD, Compassionate Ob/Gyn Care' and that is who he truly is - a real life ANGEL! There are truly no words to express the depth of love and gratitude my husband and I have for Dr. Antoine and every member of his staff!! Dr. Antoine delivered my husband, his sibling and cousins so Dr. Antoine is very well known within my husband's family. I was recommended to Dr. Clarel Antoine, and I can't say enough how happy I was with my overall experience! The warmth and hospitality I felt from the moment I walked into his charming office cannot be explained. Once I met the Doctor I knew I had made the right decision! Prior to seeing Dr. Antoine, my earlier OB had scheduled for a D/C without even having a complete examination and that what he saw in the sonograms was not a healthy pregnancy. yes, I did miscarriage last year which brought fear in thinking maybe I needed to have D/C performed, (in my mind I still question why hasn't an exam been offer to me) However, Dr. Antoine cared for me as soon as I sat down. Dr Antoine is an excellent doctor. He makes you feel comfortable & takes his time with his patients. You are never rushed out of his office. After having undergone a horrible experience with the birth of my first child ( different ob/gyn) I did months of research and found him and knew I wanted him to deliver my next child. My first L&D was rushed & aggressive. As a result I ended up wit an infection ( chorio) and needed a C-section. Under the care and guidance of Dr. Antoine and his staff, I was able to have a successful ( and easy) VBAC. I pushed for 20 minutes and my baby was born with neither of us having any complication.
