I have asthma and COPD and every time I call the office for refills, the struggle I go through to get said refills is astonishing. Last year I had to call AdvantageCare over seven times well over a week, pleading with them to refill my lung medication which I was low on, for over a week I would get replies like "I'll forward your info to your Dr." "You should get your refills in 24-48 hours." "I'm going to escalate this to someone who can help." "Let me put you on hold so I can talk to so & so." "Let me call the office." All of these responses were given to me over and over again for greater than a week. This year I received the same treatment, I had to call five times in a span of a few days for lung medication refills. The same song and dance ensued, "I'll forward your info." "Let me find someone who can help." You'll get a call from your pharmacy in 24-48 hours IF your refills are authorized." "Let me call the Southern Blvd office." And at this very moment, I, yet again am in need of meds and am going through the same game with AdvantageCare.

Like a previous reviewer said, it can get crowded and seating is limited. In terms of prenatal care you are seen by a different doctor or PA each time you go, which doesn't really allow you to build the type of relationship you may want with your doctor during a pregnancy. I personally don't like to be seen by the physician assistants because I think they are a little cold. I don't care for the newer doctors either. I am towards the end of my pregnancy and am considering changing OB GYN because I don't feel like my concerns are being taken into account, which goes back to the doctors not really knowing me or my history since I see a different one each visit. I prefer to be seen by Sconzo, Fitzgerald, or Miller. The nurses change often except for a couple that have been there for years. I don't think I've ever had an issue with any as they are all very professional and polite. The front desk staff are nice for the most part. The Bronx office is now located at 1250 Waters Place, not Pelham Parkway. Patients give birth at Lawrence hospital in Bronxville, NY.

I did not do any research about the type of pregnancy and birth experience I wanted and that led to an overall negative experience. Going into this pregnancy, I wanted to make sure I had a team that would support me. The midwives and registered nurses at Village Maternity not only supported me and my decisions, but they went above and beyond. They were always easy to reach listening to all concerns, answering all my questions, and providing me with numerous educational resources. They were also very supportive of my goal to have a VBAC, and helped me successfully have one! I owe my positive pregnancy, birth, and postpartum experience to Village Maternity. I am so grateful to everyone there and would recommend them to all mamas!

They're evidence-based, and support natural childbirth. And they were extremely responsive via phone, email and even text 24/7. Plus, Metropolitan Hospital, where they deliver, is amazing. Every room is private (for no additional fee), they support natural delivery and don't rush your labor, and all of the doctors, nurses, and staff were extremely warm and kind.

THIS PLACE IS A COMPLETE SCAM. I'm writing this while…read moresitting in the waiting room of my new doctor's office -- and honestly, thank God I decided to finally switch doctors. I found this place through Zocdoc while dealing with months of lower abdominal pain, infection symptoms and rashes. I don't have insurance, so I was desperate for help and trusted the glowing reviews. Big mistake. HUGE. My first visit was with a doctor named Maria Leon. She spent most of the $200 consult complaining and admitted she didn't even know how to read the ultrasound I was paying out of pocket for. I asked to switch doctors immediately. I also left a bad review because no one, especially vulnerable women, should be paying what they charge for such shitty service. Then Dr. Shayeb -- the "main" doctor -- contacted me, clearly to get me to delete the review. He offered to "redo" my tests, found I had ureaplasma, and gave me a week of Cipro. That was it. No follow-up. I had to call multiple times to get information or even instructions and every time I called, the secretary up front had the attitude of ugh its u again. Today, months later after finishing all the treatments they sent me there to a T, still with the same symptoms, I finally went to a decent urologist, brought my medical records from there thank GOD, and watched him literally shake his head non stop reading them. He told me it was insane they only treated ureaplasma for one week -- something any competent doctor would know is ineffective. He said I was pumped with months of antibiotics that were given in the wrong dosages and schedules, making them useless and I quote, said, "who is this doctor? I feel so bad for you that you now have to pay for everything AGAIN". Due to being prescribed multiple rounds of different antibiotics, I may have developed resistance to treatment. This could make healing significantly more difficult--and I've wasted over $1,000 in the process. So here's the truth: if you don't have insurance or are looking for actual medical help, DO NOT GO HERE. This place is a SCAM. They will take your money, misdiagnose you, mistreat you, and then try to silence you. Cause they need to keep their google reviews up so other girls fall in the same trap I did. Maybe they're fine for an easy pregnancy, but for anything else? Don't risk it. Literally anywhere else is a better choice.
