After pulling out a few outfits for me to try (all of which were lovely), Sonam was so patient and helpful as I tried each one on, providing her honest opinion. I really appreciated how straightforward and friendly she was. I ended up falling in love with two outfits, even though I had originally only wanted one. There were other outfits that I wanted too, but I knew I had to limit myself. I had some time limits and she was so helpful in making sure the outfits got their alterations in time for me. Biased, rude, appalling behavior…read more I entered The Clothes Horse clothing store located at Roosevelt Field Mall in Garden City, New York with my boyfriend planning to purchase a dress for my birthday. My boyfriend, who was wearing a True Religion sweater that we had purchased two weeks prior from the same store, began to look in the men's section as I perused women's section. We were meeting a friend at the mall and my boyfriend received a call and stepped out of the store to take the call. A representative that was standing at the fitting room began screaming to the cashiers at the register complex " Why aren't you guys paying attention? That guy just stole our sweater!" She runs across the store screaming frantically at all the associates. I watched in shock as the frantic associate did not know we were together. After ending his phone call, my boyfriend came back into the store to continue shopping. He was completely unaware of what was transpiring and continued to shop. The associate realized her inappropriate, unprofessional, biased reaction and stood quiet, yet unapologetic. At that point, I was able to gather myself and address the associate. I said to her, in front of all the other open-mouthed associates, "I just witnessed what you did. That is my boyfriend and we purchased that sweater two weeks ago." She stared at me, but still no apology. I then said to her that I would never shop in the store again. I put down the six dresses I was prepared to purchase and motioned to my boyfriend and our friend to leave. As it was a 50% off sale, my boyfriend was prepared to buy about ten things and reluctantly left with me. At this point, he still didn't understand what happened. I wholeheartedly believe that because he is a young, African American male, the salesperson reacted that way. I would think that if a customer walked into the store wearing your clothing, you would make the assumption that he is a regular customer, not a thief. Packed in like cattle my daughter tried on dress after dress. Some sizes weren't readily available and no one was at the computer that's ACTUALLY in the dressing room so I had to go out to the customer service counter to get assistance. There I did receive prompt service and a "runner" would fetch the correct size and hand it to me there. Not sure how long they've been in business but I feel like they've become complacent and don't really care about offering even basic customer service. Maybe they were overwhelmed because it's peak prom season but I noticed many moms and daughters trying dresses on and leaving them, without buying. Overall 3.5, with my two cents: care for your customers and they'll take care of you.

EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING EXPERIENCE…read more I am writing this review because I would not want anyone else to experience what my wife went through. What should have been one of the happiest and most exciting moments of her life turned into an extremely stressful, frustrating, and heartbreaking experience because of the lack of accurate communication from this store. My wife purchased her wedding dress there, and the dress needed alterations. The employee who assisted her specifically told her that they did alterations there. She was instructed to leave a $200 deposit and pay the remaining balance the following week. My wife clearly explained that our wedding was only two weeks away, so the timing was extremely important. The employee never told my wife that the alterations were actually being done by someone outside the store. She made it sound like the store itself handled the alterations. My wife trusted the information she was given and left her $200 deposit. Four days before our wedding, my wife returned expecting her dress to be ready--and discovered that NOTHING HAD BEEN DONE TO THE DRESS. When they contacted the employee who had originally helped her, she suddenly explained that there was another person who did alterations, but that this person was not actually part of the store. WHY WAS MY WIFE NEVER TOLD THIS FROM THE BEGINNING? This is the part that is incredibly frustrating. Had my wife been given the correct information, she would have immediately taken her dress somewhere else. Instead, she trusted what she was told and lost valuable time because of incorrect and incomplete information. When my wife asked what could be done, she was told that the person who did the alterations was not there and would return the following day. Even worse, they could not guarantee that the dress would be completed in time. At that point, my wife had only four days before our wedding. She had no choice but to take her dress and desperately search for another alteration shop. She called me crying, extremely stressed and overwhelmed. As her husband, it was heartbreaking and infuriating to hear her going through this just days before our wedding. A bride should not have to spend the final days before her wedding worrying about whether she will even have a properly fitted wedding dress. Thankfully, she found someone willing to help her on extremely short notice. But because she only had two days to get the alterations done, she was charged $260 just to alter the straps and shorten the dress because it was slightly too long. So because of the store's failure to communicate clearly and honestly, my wife lost valuable time, experienced unnecessary stress, and ended up paying an additional $260 elsewhere to fix something that should have been handled properly from the beginning. This was not simply a misunderstanding. The problem was that my wife was not given the correct information when she specifically asked about alterations and clearly explained how close her wedding date was. If the employee had simply said, "We don't do the alterations ourselves, but we work with someone who does, and we cannot guarantee when your dress will be ready," my wife could have made an informed decision and found another place immediately. Instead, she was left believing that the store would take care of it. I strongly recommend that anyone purchasing a wedding dress here ask very specific questions about alterations and get everything confirmed before leaving a deposit. Do not assume that "we do alterations" means the store itself is responsible for the work. A wedding dress is not an ordinary purchase. Brides are already under enough pressure without having to deal with situations like this because of poor communication. This experience was completely unacceptable and extremely disappointing. A customer deserves accurate information, especially when the purchase involves something as important as their wedding dress.

Kaleena was very helpful helping me find items to try as well as at register. Clearance items are not returnable. Even trying on 2 dress sizes it was a hard decision which size was the best as both were close in size for the fit. So if you have time I suggest trying things on. Most things list as R for regular in size, distributed through out are very few Short- and some sizes start at 0, 1,2... or numbers as 36, 38 etc. It is nice to have sales people to help in the search.
