Torrid clothing store in Levitown ( Note: Westbury location closing May 25, 2025) got 2 pants on clearance, another at regular price and 1 dress that had been in the widow display. Kaleena was very helpful helping me find items to try as well as at register. Clearance items are not returnable. Even trying on 2 dress sizes it was a hard decision which size was the best as both were close in size for the fit. So if you have time I suggest trying things on. Most things list as R for regular in size, distributed through out are very few Short- and some sizes start at 0, 1,2... or numbers as 36, 38 etc. It is nice to have sales people to help in the search. read more

They have very rude unprofessional cashiers that have an attitude & have no sense of urgency to help you out or come up & check you out I'm always standing by the counter while they are standing having time of their lives. They are very selective about who they want to say "hello" to & help out. Plus the store always has a very bad smell that hits you right when you walk in that I've noticed few times already. read more

Torrid's clothes have been really awesome lately. It's so nice to be able to shop in an actual plus size store. (I really miss the Queens location.) This store is a little small but has a lot of stock and it's kept very well. The people who work there are super nice and the fitting room area is great. I was just there today and found out that they'll price match with the online price if you show it to them on your phone, which came in handy. Anyway, I love this store! read more

I like their numbering system makes me feel less big, haha. The store itself is on the east side of the shopping center. It's a tad on the smaller side. The sales section is usually too tight to maneuver in, esp with a lot of shoppers present. The have some seating just outside of the undergarments section which is near to the fitting area. That always works well when non-shoppers need a place to rest. They have some Disney fashion too on occasion. Their garments are of decent quality. The jeans, however, don't hold up against my chub rub. Old Navy jeans lasted me less than a year, and the sales lady @ Torrid said that Torrid is a better quality --- but nope, it, too, lasted me less than a year. :( In store, they do not carry tall sizes. Shipping online is usually more expensive than other stores, but if you ship to store, it is free. Their tanks with the thin (sometimes adjustable) straps are very cheap. I'd recommend not buying them. I wore mine for one day, and the stitching came undone. After washing it with a gentle cycle, the entire strap came loose. I also bought a regular pair of jeans once, and when I got home and removed the tags, I noticed that one out of three buttons were missing! I went back, but even though I had the tag in hand, they would not exchange it or take it back or refund me my money! Never again. I try go for the more sturdy buys and now I double check the buttons to make sure they're secured and not missing. The store usually has 2 women on duty. They tend to keep one at the register and one on the floor to organize the shelves and hangers. Oftentimes, I find myself in need of a sales associate in the fitting room area when a size is either too small or large, and oftentimes, I wind up changing back into my clothes to go switch the garments myself because the staff are no where near. Definitely try to visit the back area more when you have customers trying on outfits, or ask your superior to hire more people for peak fitting times. Also, the fitting rooms are freezing cold! Other than those cons, this is a great store for women between sizes, and better for women with larger busts. They have a lot of cute things, so even if you feel a bit on the larger side, you don't need to be jealous of others' fashions and wear. Happy shops! read more

I went in about maybe two weeks ago. I've been there before, they didn't have much during the height of the pandemic so it was what it was. This time I had a bit of time to kill and I'm looking for some additional items for a Disney trip. The last time I went in I was greeted, asked if I needed anything, etc. This time went in, the store wasn't crowded but there were a few shoppers and multiple workers. My initial impression was of how bad it smelled. A less than whimsical concoction of boiled cabbage, BO, and despair. I couldn't be sure where the offending odor was coming from so I just pressed on. Now the store isn't huge, and I've recently lost two of my closer stores. The one in valley stream being my favorite. There wasn't a lot of space to maneuver and as this is a plus sized store, you'd think they'd understand that big girls need room to shop..but ok. Once I got used to the smell, sort of I noticed the staff was sort of milling all over. Engaging in busy work for sure, but most importantly not offering to assist or... even acknowledge my existence. I'm no stranger to Torrid so, I just make my way around and I'm getting sadder by increments because the stock is crap. I can forgive all that. What I can't forgive is walking behind an associate, standing next to an associate, and struggling to pull down a dress in front of an associate and not once being asked if I need anything. And, I'm not being a primadonna about this either. I wasn't having a Roman Reigns "ACKNOWLEDGE ME" moment. I felt like they didn't want to be bothered with me. They were helping other customers, one in fact to a great degree. But me .. nope. I'm on the smaller side of the plus section, mostly wearing 00/10, so maybe they didn't feel like I "needed" help, but it was a turn off. Even my boyfriend noticed. He was like "didn't nobody help you?". I was like nah son. It smells like granny panties and shame in this place and not one of them tried to make a sale. Since most of the torrid brick and mortars in New York are gone, you'd think they'd try to stack them coins but... whatever. I'm not used to Torrid employees acting like this. My old store was popping. Don't get me wrong I know some customers are nightmares but, some folk just want to shop and go. So... Ima stick to online shopping and give my nose and my nerves a break. The only reason I didn't give them one star is because when I went last year, the two workers were super nice, even though they were busy. read more

All I can say is WOW. Never have I felt more safe in a store then I did the other day. The clothes offered here were nice quality, stylish and actually fit my body type for once. I even got a little emotional in the dressing room because I was so happy to find clothes that fit me. The workers were absolutely amazing, so sweet and helpful. And don't even get me started on the dressing rooms! They were well lit, roomie, with plenty of hanger space and a nice big mirror. They were also COLD, I can not tell you how much I loath a tight hot dressing room when trying on clothes. It honestly ruins the experience. Decent store but the associates are not the best. They are selective in who they say hello to and they're also selective in who they keep an eye on. Many times I've been to this Torrid and the associates always run to the section I am in and pretend they're folding or looking for something and when I leave that area they leave the area too. It makes me uncomfortable because I do not steal! Never have nor ever will and to feel like I am suspected of stealing it really degrading. One time I came in the store and this girl was walking in and out of the dress room, trying on boots, walking all over the store and not one associate watched her but as for me when I am just looking at clothes, I am watched like a hawk and asked if I need something. I am at a wits end because this is the nearest Torrid for me. (I refuse to go to Green Acres). Torrid has one more time for something like this to happen and I will speak my mind and I will ask the associate questions. Note to Torrid Corp: train the associates better. read more

Very disappointed in my local Torrid store today. I waited on line to get into the store for 40 minutes and another woman went to the front of the line, went right in an proceeded to shop. Everyone who waited outside in the heat was very upset. This woman then called us all "fat cows" as well as other horrible insults. The manager did not ask her to leave the store and even allowed her to do a return. She body-shamed about 6 different people. If I worked there, I would have refused to process her return. The manager did not even ask her to stop insulting and screaming at people. Disappointed in this woman but even more disappointed in Torrid for not sticking up for their customers. read more

I came here to buy some bathing suits because I have a thick body type. I like bathing suits that flatter my body and cover enough so I feel comfortable. That is exactly what Torrid had. I brought two bathing suits that were so adorable. I brought one peach one that was two pieces and so nice with my body. The second bathing suit I brought was black and white cheetah that was beautiful on my body. It covered my insecure areas and I looked nice. I did not look like a grandma or look chunky. I looked great and felt so confident. The staff was so friendly and helpful. They made my shopping experience a great one! Thank you Torrid staff! The woman who work in TORRID are horrific.This was my third time at the store and they're still the same! They give dirty looks and don't bother to help. The store is a complete mess & they don't even know how to use the Haute Cash properly or the coupons or apply any of their deals in general. Then when you ask them a question they look at you like you have 5 heads. Unreal !, they also make you feel un-welcomed in the store and aside from that they have no idea what they're doing. I don't know who does the hiring process there, but they need to get there s*** in check and maybe fire and rehire people who know and want to work. Do yourself a favor and drive out to Deer Park to shop at that Torrid there, at least they know what they're doing, the store is always clean and everything is in place and are super helpful. read more

I have been a torrid customer for over 10 years and the experience I had at this torrid was terrible. This is the worst torrid location I have ever been to. I have traveled to 5 different torrid locations in the tri-state over the years because there has never been one in my actual city. I went to this torrid on January 26, 2019 with the intentions of using my coupons I have received in the mail. One coupon was $25 Haute Cash that was expired so I figured that I couldn't use that one. My second coupon was $15 off of $50 and my third was 30% off of $100. I looked around the store for a good amount of time and found one shirt that I absolutely loved. It was about $48.00 without tax and then $51.00 with tax. I thought that was great because then I could get my $15.00 off. When I went to pay for the shirt (the first time) the sales associate explained to me that I couldn't use the coupon because it wasn't over $50.00 without the tax added on and that the coupon will not work. She then explained to me that I had to buy another item that makes the total over $50.00 that is a full price item. I looked around for jewelry, accessories or socks and nothing peaked my interest. The things I did like were all about $15.00 and it clearly doesn't make any sense to spend an extra $15.00 to save $15.00 when I didn't want the extra item to begin with. So, then I decided to go find another full price shirt that I could buy. I found a Black tight fitted turtle neck that I loved and decided that I would buy that with the original shirt I picked out so that I could use the coupon. I didn't mind spending more then $15.00 to only save $15.00 and still spend over $50.00 because this was an item I liked and that I actually need. When I went to the register to pay (for the second time) the sales associate told me that the item I picked out couldn't be used with the coupon because it was actually a clearance item that they didn't mark down yet (meaning it didn't have the clearance stickers on it and someone shopping wouldn't be aware that it was actually a clearance item). At this point I was a little frustrated because I just spent all that time looking for a second item and the one I picked still wasn't acceptable to use due to me picking out an item that was improperly marked because of store disorganization. The sales associate told me there was nothing she could do when I asked, the manager standing by never tried to talk to me about this, and at this point I got upset. I told the sales associate I was going to call torrids costumer service because I felt like the situation was not handled properly. I decided to leave the store and call the torrid costumer service number and spoke to a very lovely representative. I told her exactly what happened - with the exact facts listed above - and she gave me $20 off in points on my account. I forgot her name but she was really understanding and helpful and I am very grateful for that. After the call, I went back in the store, got the shirt and went to the cash register. The sales associates were ignoring me for a while and then eventually one of them came up to help me. She was clearly annoyed, the other associates were giving each other looks and laughing. I didn't think it was funny that I was ignored and the way they handled this situation. They were very unprofessional at this point and I will not be returning to this location. I asked the managers name and they told her name was Kim. She never came to speak with me when she clearly new that was going on and did not act in her role as manager. This is all on store camera and I think it should be watched by corporate and you can see exactly how this situation went down. You can see how I re-enter the store and how I was ignored and the laughing that occurs. That was really the part that upset me the most. You would think the associates would ask and be more understanding. Also, the associate who helped me with the dressing room earlier was texting on her phone while opening the dressing room (the first time) - which is also unprofessional. I have been a torrid costumer since I was 15/16 and I am currently 25. I drove from Stamford, CT to Garden City to check out this location and see if they have other items in the store that ones at the Trumbull Mall, Milford Mall, Palisades Mall don't offer (which locations are all still 20-40 miles away from my house). I buy stuff online and have to return it because it doesn't fit the way I would like it to and I really like shopping at the locations instead. I like trying things on. I didn't mind traveling to Garden City and I was excited to shop. However the costumer service was terrible and a really bad representation of torrid. I never had a problem over the last decade and I am very disappointed. I will not be returning to this location. read more

This torrid location is pretty good; it's right in the middle of a busy strip of shops and malls so it isn't hard to get too, especially if you are driving. My only problem with Torrid is the same problem I have with many other "big girl" shops; there are extremely over priced for no good reason. A simple, plain t-shirt could run for almost $30- but that isn't this Torrid location's fault. They have decent enough sales going on from time to time, which is nice. My only "complaint" I really have with this location is that I asked to see some items in certain sizes (boots and sneakers) and I was told that they were simply for decorative purposes, which I found odd. If it isn't for sale, it shouldn't be displayed in my honest opinion. read more

This is my favorite torrid location during their bogo sale back in 2015 they had buy 1 get 2 free from the clearance section. When I first saw their bogo I was like this is impossible that you can get 3 shirts or pants for the price of one I had to ask the employees a million times as if the signs weren't enough. This was the only location in queens and Long Island that were doing this kind of sale so I basically scored. I racked up on so many shirts all for under 150 dollars usually without a sale two shirts go for 150 and jeans alone range from 50 to 100 dollars ( face palm). Inside torrid is not that big but it's not that busy here at this location so that evens out. I love their fitting room, it's so glam and girly I feel like I'm at a lounge or a Victoria secrets. The employees here were very helpful and sweet and made sure they helped you find any item that you couldn't find. When their is no sale going on it is very pricey I just can't see myself spending 100 on a pair of jeans or 50 dollars for a basic tee, however when their is a bogo sale like this I will buy the whole rack of clothes. read more
