I had no idea Lane carried a size 12 and had the size in abundance. This was new news to me. Lane Bryant has stepped out of the shadows of the homely, frumpy 90's style for Plus Sized Women. Prior to visiting, I would not consider myself Plus Sized, but curvy and voluptuous. Lane has arrived. The new styles provide clothing that is functional, comfortable and trendy without sacrificing your self esteem. Their denim collection is high quality featuring fabric that provides stretch and functionality. I saw quite a few pieces I'll have to return to purchase. She personally assisted us with shopping for appropriate dresses for a 8th Grader. Unfortunately we did not find a perfect fit, however, the selection at Dillards for evening gowns and Special Occasions is tremendous. I appreciate the fact they dedicated a portion of the store to Juniors sizes. Many of the other department stores have gotten rid of Juniors/ Misses and have merged styles with Women's clothing. Dillards has an abundance of designers, I just wish the price tags were reasonable.

She looked up my purchase history and got the moisturizer I had previously purchased. She also found a tinted lip balm that almost perfectly matched the color of the other brand of lipstick that I use (because I love the color, but it kept breaking). We also discussed eye liners and the different colors that would look good on me. She helped me pick out two colors I would never have picked on my own. During check out I noticed the eye shadow brushes. She and I discussed the different brushes and I ended getting two (2) of them. Lauren was a pleasure to work with and I am glad I stopped in that day. She was knowledgeable and patient. I will definitely return to this location. I had a second opportunity to work with Lauren when I called the store to inquire about a different facial moisturizer. She was just as helpful this time, too. I ended up getting the moisturizer, more of the tinted lip balm, and another eye shadow brush. She was just as friendly and knowledgeable during this over the phone transaction and she was during my visit to the store. Very customer oriented.

So far, I cannot complain much. But…read more.. It's got a wide array of suits, shirts and so on, but there are definite imperfections. For instance, I needed a formal black tie suit and a casual jacket outfit for a gala in July. The employee Javi was personable and knowledgeable, helping me put together colors, textures, et. al. And yet, a place of this obvious capability did not have a black shirt in my size. I only wear 17.5 by 34. A black shirt. This was a shirt I promptly and effortlessly purchased at Brooks Brothers later on. But Jos couldn't handle it? A simple black shirt? And then, they had to order a white shirt for me because they didn't have one of those either. A simple white shirt? Seriously? That's embarrassing. I am presently waiting a couple weeks for all alterations (some of which they were late with) and that one shirt to come in. Overall, it was a fine experience, leaving me with a great ensemble, but when they show their shortcomings, those shortcomings do shine. A.
