The place is much bigger than it looks, there are rooms upstairs in multiple rooms downstairs as well.. It's probably cooler downstairs. They have outside patio seat seats.. I am talking harmonica, fiddlers, guitars, banjos, drums - you get gist. And in the most nonchalant and most welcoming way, one by one they ALL started playing together!!! I am not talking 5 people, imagine more like 15-20 people all playing together! Oncle Antoine is situated in a building dating back to 1754 and holds the title of the oldest bar in Quebec. Think unevenly carved stone walls, dungeon like vibes and quality brews. The pub is also known for some of the best French onion soup in Quebec, so that cannot be overlooked. The cheesy hot bowl of goodness is indeed spectacular, particularly differentiated through the quality of the cheese itself. The place does get pretty packed, so there is often a wait and it's wise to plan accordingly.
