We entered into a mutually signed and negotiated contract for $11k to complete some of the work needed on our roof after a hail storm in Nov 2024. After patiently waiting 6 months for CJS to honor that contract (because of weather and winter) in June 2025 it was time to do the actual work CJS came back to us and had increased our contract to $24+K an increase of over 118%. The shingles were damaged and the insurance adjuster recommended replacement. We got 4 bids over several weeks from reputable St. Louis based businesses. CJS Roofing was chosen based on their bid and reputation. Their contract was thorough and addressed our roofing needs. It also explained the costs should additional hidden defects be present, such as rotted roof sheathing. No added frills or high pressure by their representative. Just basic questions about what we needed or wanted performed, what type of roof materials, and explanations of the differences in product lines. Very informative. Because of the high demand for their services, there was a waiting list. All the reputable businesses we contacted are stacked up, but quality and pricing are very important. When they came out to perform the work, they started around 7 am and finished by 3 pm. Our home is a ranch style over 2200 sq ft under roof. The roof looks beautiful, and the property was free of any debris when they were finished. I can only give CJS Roofing compliments for our experience with them. I will try to make this short.. But CJS Roofing was one of the best contractors that I have worked with. Between Chris, Ryan and Denise they were all there to answer any and all of my questions. The day before the job, Ryan called me to let me know they would be there around 6:15. Sure enough, they were at my house at 6:15 with the first person on the roof by 6:21. These guys worked quick and diligently and had our new roof fully on by 11am. They were cleaned and packed up by noon. We had used CJS 10 years ago to install a new roof in South County. We thought CJS did a great job. Quality shingle, expertly installed. At that time, a neighbor came over and asked Chris to look at her roof, she thought she might need a new one. Chris got on her roof, came back down the ladder and told her "you don't need a roof but there are some flashing areas that need caulking". He went back up and caulked. Told her no charge since he was standing in my yard anyway. Two years ago we moved to Wentzville. We were warned by the house inspector that there were multiple issues with the shingle job the builder had put on. After living with it for two years (and praying during every wind storm that multiple shingles would not tear off) we figured we would have to bite the bullet and replace. I called, figuring they might not work this far out in St. Charles. I was thrilled that they were happy to give me a quote. Once again their crew was fast, efficient and friendly. The roof looks fantastic. They installed ridge vent at the same time. My wife and I are happy to have peace of mind in the frequent wind storms Wentzville encounters. I called CJS initially to check for recent storm damage to our roof. Chris was out the next day and verified not only that we didn't have any damage, but that our roof was in great shape for its age. Because we had had some ceiling leaks from the flashing of our 30+ year old skylights, Chris offered to quote us on their replacement. We contacted CJS roofing about installing vents in our roof. Chris emailed me back with two estimates, one for vents and one for ridge vents. Both prices were reasonable so we went with the Ridge vent. we didn't need to be home. They did the work in one day and mailed us a bill and we paid.
